My maiden meal in the Panasonic - NN-CT56M Convection Microwave Oven was Marion Grasby's Thai Roast Chicken with spicy sauce. An easy, tasty recipe to test the oven functionality especially as Marion practically walks you through using the appliance in her accompanying video. Couple rookie errors on my behalf meant the chicken didn't come out as well as hers.#1, I placed the chicken on top of sweet potatoes which meant the chicken sat quite high in the oven and subsequently burnt the top of the chicken. Next time I'll know to keep the chicken lower in the oven space.#2, I rounded down the weight of the chicken instead of typing in the exact weight, this resulted in slightly undercooked chicken in the middle. I reckon another five mins would've cooked the chicken ... MoreMy maiden meal in the Panasonic - NN-CT56M Convection Microwave Oven was Marion Grasby's Thai Roast Chicken with spicy sauce. I can honestly say this appliance is incredibly intuitive and takes the guesswork out of cooking time and the oven space itself is a very generous size adding to its versatility. I'm excited to experiment with other dishes that are on the Panasonic consumer website so I can get the most out of my convection microwave oven.I was gifted the NN-CT56M 3-in-1 Convection Microwave Oven in exchange for an honest review on Panasonic’s website.

Smart, efficient and with so much variability and capability, this is an excellent machine. Beware the more powerful microwave, that is a good reason to buy but can catch you out. Yes, it is essential to keep the instructions and cook book handy, because of the wide possibilities, but thankfully the "idiot's guide" on the display helps a lot. Don't switch that off too quickly! I could wish that it was easier to do roast programme followed by a microwave one, but I'm sure planning better will help. The auto roast facility is brilliant, and the grill on its own is good for meat etc, certainly better than my large electric oven with integral grill. I haven't tried it for toasting. It is much quicker to heat and to cook, although I haven't really been able to compare energy savings accurately as yet.

We had the previous model for some 10 years but it finally gave up after many years of excellent service. We've replaced it with the latest model, as we loved the old one. The Which? magazine recommend this Combi microwave as a best buy and I can vouch for that. It's pretty much the same as the old model(s) but with a better menu and on-screen instructions. We love it. So easy to use/programme and cooks perfectly. Hopefully this will last as long as the last one which we used daily for most of our cooking needs. It's not the cheapest but then it is a combi Microwave, a decent size with a ton of features and programmes. Also, if the old one is anything to go by, its reliable and long lasting.

I've had my combi for about two months now and I love it - it is the most I've ever spent on a microwave, but it's not really just a microwave obviously. Unlike a previous cheap grill combi this one feels like it can actually do it all. The microwave part itself is very quick to heat up food, but it can also grill, convection and cook in combination - so far I've really enjoyed baking quick treats like the odd frozen pizza or croissant, as well as baking much more involved things. The combi baked potatoes program is also great for saving time - microwaving and convection cooking at once for a quicker microwaved from the centre potato that has a proper crispy skin. There is a bit of a learning curve for baking and oven cooking - like with an air fryer it does feel ... MoreI've had my combi for about two months now and I love it - it is the most I've ever spent on a microwave, but it's not really just a microwave obviously. The combi baked potatoes program is also great for saving time - microwaving and convection cooking at once for a quicker microwaved from the centre potato that has a proper crispy skin. There is a bit of a learning curve for baking and oven cooking - like with an air fryer it does feel like you want to reduce the time by 10-20% and always check how cooked things are, I guess because it's smaller than an actual oven and the food is a lot closer to the heating parts - lower and slower helps with cakes. The preheating is quicker than an oven, and the admittedly noticeably loud fan cycle after you use it cools it down and seems to pull out some of the condensation which is nice. The stainless steel interior is easy to wipe clean either way, and shouldn't degrade quite like an enamel painted one.Overall it took me a little while to decide to buy one with the price of the these but I do feel like it's worth it and it'll last years while getting plenty of use.
I bought this after returning a similar but cheaper brand. This is much better, touch pads are easy to use, its great to have the convection oven, grill as well as traditional microwave function, gives the speed of microwave cooking with the crispness of a conventional oven. The jacket potato setting is really good, cooks 4 or 5 potato's for the family in 20 mins and they come out fluffy on the inside with crispy skins, much quicker and cheaper than the conventional oven. Chaos defrost is also great for various foods, and this microwave also seems to reheat items quicker than my old one. the capacity is bigger (bigger plate size) than my previous microwave but the outer case doesnt seem to be that much more due to space saving technology. I've tried a sponge cake recipe too which worked well. lots more settings to try plus it comes with some recipes in the user booklet. I find the quick guide inside the door makes choosing the right setting simple and easy. clean stainless steel finish and bright light inside is again (I think) better than some other models. Still got lots more of the setting to try out but so far really happy with this.
Good Points: I have only used my main oven once since purchasing the combi microwave. It looks sleek and stylish, is compact and has lots of features (far more then I'll ever need).I have cooked many different meals using the oven, grill and tried the combi micro and oven together. Most meals have come out fine. I just need to fine tune the timings on some because it cooks differently to big oven.I have tried cooking pies in the oven but sadly this was a disaster both times I tried, burnt on top but soggy base. Everything else has turned out well so far tho.Improvement Points: I don't like that when using the microwave it gets full of steam, the door, glass turntable and microwave walls get very wet and nerds drying. Also it's so light that when you close the door it slides back on the worktop and has to be moved forward each time to give correct distance from wall for ventilation. It also seems to really heat up my new oak worktop when using combination oven and microwave at same time so I won't use this function in fear it might wreck the solid wood worktop.
This products packaging was modern and would definitely stand out on shelf as a premium product. It was easy to unpack and it fit well into the cabinet at home. It has a mirror finish that would compliment your kitchen decor. The instruction manual was daunting but very comprehensive. I thoroughly recommend reading it though, as there are so many functions to this unit, and learning them is definitely worthwhile to utilise it's full value. You can set multiple functions at once, such as microwaving to defrost, then changing to convection oven to cook it. No more having to move to food from the microwave to finish cooking in the oven. There are plenty of auto functions for any need. Savoury dishes, sweet dishes, desserts or even baby foods.Finger foods stay crisp and cakes and donuts are light and fluffy.I really enjoyed this product and would recommend it especially for people who want to downsize the amount of appliances they own, those who have small kitchens, young people and people in tiny homes. It is such a space saver, is great value for money and has so many functions that it will be your new favourite appliance.I was gifted the NN-CT56M 3-in-1 Convection Microwave Oven in exchange for an honest review on Panasonic’s website.
I’ve had this Panasonic multi function unit for several weeks now and have definitely given it a good workout.Firstly and most importantly because of the grill and convection oven functions it can get very HOT. Take note of the installation guide that recommends placement location and position from walls and other appliances etcThe black mirror finish is easy to clean and would look great in most any kitchen. From seriously perfectly crisp potato gems to Marion’s Thai style roast chicken which is without doubt the best roast chicken I have ever eaten. Packet cake mix to a recipe sourced from https://www.theideaskitchen.com.au/ and omelette to porridge, I am learning what works best for me and seriously, packet cake mixes have their place but a cake cooked from scratch is far better. The Junior cooking function is an added bonus. With two Grand babies and another due soon I have been able to make their food from scratch and have it turn out perfect every time. Pureed fruits or vegetables to vegetable fries, both of the Grand-babies give a thumbs up to the texture and taste. The wire rack provided, that is used as a shelf for the enamel plate when grilling or baking is a bit flimsy and can make it awkward when repositioning the enamel plate mid way or removing at the end of cooking. The manual provided has a comprehensive amount of information and provides a good read with operation, safety, installation, functions and of course a wide variety of delicious recipes. If It could, this book would be so much easier to navigate if the pages were indented for each section.I have had four microwave ovens over the last 38 years. All have worked well, but this is the most versatile because of its various function’s. I would definitely recommend you look at this when deciding which multifunction microwave oven is best for your needs. As noted above, I have given this appliance a really good workout. Why? I purchased this product as it was similar to my previous microwave that lasted over 14 years and it scored well in the Which? tests. On receiving the microwave I set it up on a level granite kitchen worktop and it wobbled from side to side. On checking underneath one of the feet was angled/fitted incorrectly and is not adjustable. I contacted John Lewis who agreed to send a replacement that arrived a couple of days latter. This also wobbled but not to the same extent andI corrected with a few layers of thick tape on one of the feet. I was expecting better manufacturing quality which is clearly worse than the older product. Only other point worth noting is that the power cord is very short. Too soon to comment on long term reliability.
