Easy to use and clean. Consistent results with different types of rice. Good for smaller rice quantities and also find the steaming basket good for dumplings etc. Smaller size means it doesnt take up the whole bench.

It is a nice compact size and cooks variety of rice though i've only used it for Japanese, Jasmine and basmati rice and the white/japanese rice is better than my old simple rice cooker.Note regular rice takes like 50mins to cook vs like 20mins for my old one though there is a quick cook function that I've yet to useonly gave 4 stars as the silicone ring can't be removed for cleaning and i think over time, it should be cleaned and there's no holder for the condensation when you open the lid, you have to either take the whole rice cooker and pour out the condensation around the edge or use a cloth/paper towel to dry it

This is the 2nd one I bought, the last one lasted about 5 years when I noticed the coating began to wear off so I bought a new one. The coating of the new one is different from the previous one, hope it lasts. This is a basic rice cooker with no fancy functions like the more expensive ones but that's what I like it as I only need it to cook rice and nothing more. I am happy with its performance.

I've read a number of other reviews, including on other sites, that complain of bad smells and funny taste in the cooked rice, but... when I read the instructions, they covered exactly what causes those things and how to prevent them (which is basically keeping it clean, and following basic instructions, like preparing/rinsing rice properly, not using the keep warm function for brown rice, etc). I've now had this for a while, and cooked various types of white and brown rice, and rice mixtures, and it has cooked perfectly and come out amazing each and every single time. I am very picky about this stuff, and looked for bad or uneven cooking, or the rice not being perfect throughout, and found nothing but perfectly and evenly cooked rice, no funny taste or smell, ...ย MoreI've read a number of other reviews, including on other sites, that complain of bad smells and funny taste in the cooked rice, but... when I read the instructions, they covered exactly what causes those things and how to prevent them (which is basically keeping it clean, and following basic instructions, like preparing/rinsing rice properly, not using the keep warm function for brown rice, etc). I am very picky about this stuff, and looked for bad or uneven cooking, or the rice not being perfect throughout, and found nothing but perfectly and evenly cooked rice, no funny taste or smell, basically as good as you can get. The cooker is simple/basic but well designed and very easy to clean. I would definitely buy a panasonic rice cooker again, and now that I trust the basic model completely, I'd try and even fancier model.
I have had two of this model in the past. Always perfect rice, nothing burnt at the bottom. Nothing stuck to the bottom. Great and fluffy rice. When I was in university, this was my main cooking tool. Chicken, pasta, vegetables, cake, anything that is not too thick to cook. Nowadays, I mainly use for rice, quinoa, potstickers, oatmeal and sometimes vegetables. If you know how to work a rice cooker, then it can be a flexible tool, where you can just turn it on and go do other things. You don't have to keep watch over it.I don't use the steamer basket very often because it is made of plastic but it works really well to cook veges and rice at the same time, so you don't even need to use a pan. After veges are cooked, take it out, then add oil and seasoning.
Makes perfect rice, but the keep warm function only seems to last a few hours before the rice starts to dry out. I've used much cheaper cookers that could keep warm over night. I purchased this because it doesn't beep when done cooking, and the images on the buttons are a nice touch.
This is such an amazing product. Very easy to use, just follow the instructions in the pamphlet provided. Used it several times for Jollof rice and it came out so fluffy and nice. My daughter wants it for collage and she is only in 7th Grade. ;).Just be careful when opening it as it may jerk hard and move the cooker which get stuff everywhere. I usually place my hand on the top before opening it which controls the way the cover flips back. I will definitely recommend this product, it is simple, easy and gets the job done to perfection.
I bought this rice cooker because of the price, ease of operation and the brand (Panasonic). In terms of rice cooking, this sucker didn't disappoint. I used it as a rice cooker and for making congee. I no longer need to worry about water overflowing when I make congee (using a pot). However, the biggest frustration is that the water level marking is the same colour as its background (ie the inner pot). I have to struggle and put the pot under intense light to see the water level marking. If you don't need to rely on the marking to use the cooker then you're fine. Two of my colleagues also bought the same cooker and they have the same comments as well.
Literally the cutest rice cooker ever. It cooks enough rice. And its so quick and easy hardly have to do much to turn on. Literally just press white rice button and it cooks it perfectly.
my son loves to cook and we've been experimenting with Chinese recently. This thing is great ๐! my son picked it for the "keep warm" function which is really handy! its being used almost everyday and works great! youll need to get the water level just right, but once you have it down, its really
