On the Brink is an excellent expansion to Pandemic that includes three new game modes, new roles, and some nifty petri dishes to store your disease cubes. Both this and In the Lab are worthy additions, although get this one first. If you're unfamiliar with Pandemic, its an excellent co-operative board game, but you'll need to get the original Pandemic board game first. Lots of great reviews out there on this game as it's one of the higher rated co-op games. Lots of fun and replay-ability as the challenge can be scaled.

A pleasant change in the game. This expansion doesn't fundamentally change the game, but makes it more interesting and adds more variablity. The seven extra characters are great! There are 4 blank cards included for customizing-2 role cards and 2 event cards, which is really fun. There are also 5 little petri dishes for the different cubes. We have little interest in the bioterrorist module, so haven't tried that.

There are three new scenarios that introduce new characters and new cards, and, because these variants can be played in combination with one another, or with scenarios from the original version, it makes for nearly unlimited ways of playing the game and versions that are nearly impossible to win. If you like the original, this is well worth the money; it's fun.

Pandemic is a great game, with On the Brink, it may just be the best short co-op game on the market. On the Brink added enough extra roles and events to truly have a unique game play each time. The virulent strain adds a simple but deadly twist on the classic epidemic play and is an excellent way to introduce yourself to the expansion. The mutation variant adds a nice new mechanism for handling outbreaks and the bio-terrorist challenge is great for people who want a little spice in their co-op adventures. Honestly, if you want the best Pandemic experience out of the gate, this is a must purchase with the base game!
If you love playing Pandemic but it’s gotten a bit too easy to win, this is a must have expansion. I played Legacy season 1 with my group and we just couldn’t go back to regular Pandemic afterwards. This expansion was the key to making the game challenging again.
Cracking addition to pandemic, much more of a challenge and adds a level of depth missing from the base game imo, meaning the game gets a lot more usage. Petri dishes for the cubes are a great storage idea as well. Not for the feint hearted though, only won 1 out of 7 games so far!
Refresh your Pandemic! I love Pandemic board games and this expansion is a must: New Roles, New Events, A fifth player, and New challenges. What else could you expect?! If you've played Pandemic to death and beyond (like me, and I still play it) and want to breathe new life into the game, then On The Brink features new characters, modes of play and customisable difficulty levels. An absolute must if you want your Pandemic strategies challenged.
a fun series of alternate gameplay modes. They are well designed and alter dynamics and strategy approaches. Good if you've played the base game a lot. Otherwise they might be a bit lost on you.
