The purpose of the Paperlike screen protector is to make the screen feel a little more like writing on paper. I think that might realistically be impossible. I give the Paperlike a 4/5 for their attempt though. A couple of problems are inherent to this/any screen protector. First, Apple puts all of this effort to make a crisp clear high resolution image and much of that is lost with the haze of the protector. Second, after a week of use, I can see my hand writing embedded into the screen protector. It’s not entirely legible as you’re constantly writing over your previous page but in some lighting, it’s definitely noticeable when the screen is dark. I don’t notice it when I’m writing on a GoodNotes white page, which is the reason I bought the iPad in the first place. ... MoreThe purpose of the Paperlike screen protector is to make the screen feel a little more like writing on paper. I’m still using it and have made some adjustments just because the pencil itself is pretty narrow and rolls around a table without it. That said, it’s a pretty expensive purchase for what you get.

This one is by far the best I've used. Some "paper-like" screen covers have a rough feel that is intended to provide “toothiness”, or friction, for the Apple Pencil or stylus. That "toothiness" is what simulates the feeling of writing on paper. When that "toothiness" is too much, it can be somewhat jarring when you use your finger on the iPad screen. Paperlike's cover doesn't do that. Instead, it provides a smooth feel when using your finger directly on the screen. That "toothiness" on other covers can also distort the light from pixels on the screen, which can be annoying. Of all the matte covers I’ve used, this one is the best at not hindering my ability to still see the screen and enjoy the iPad's visual clarity. On top of all this, the Apple Pencil writes amazingly well on Paperlike. It really does feel like writing on paper. Just keep in mind you’ll need to replace the Paperlike cover and your Apple Pencil tip on a somewhat regular basis, depending on how much you use it. Artists will need to do so quite a bit. I use the Paperlike and my Apple Pencil to take notes more than anything else, so I probably won't need to replace the cover nearly as often as others.I definitely recommend this cover to anyone looking for a “paper-like” surface for your iPad.

Okay. It’s only day 1 but I’ll give my first impressions. Packaging great. Product appearance / initial quality appearance great. APPLICATION VIDEO AN ABSOLUTE MUST. Probably 3 stars on the actual installation but to be honest the iPad is a larger screen (mine is the 13” iPad Pro with the nano glass screen - maybe the nano glass made the installation a bit harder). Take your time with the installation and be obsessive compulsive. Took probably 15 min to apply and then chase the bubbles out. Once that was done I have played around writing, drawing, etc for about 15 minutes and I do enjoy the feel. The look is essentially invisible and aesthetically pleasing. So far, so good. Customer service was great. Screen feel is great.

Essential and cherished for generations

Excellent, incredible improvement in texture and feel of writing on a tablet. This is first thing I order for a new iPad. After multiple generations of both tablets and Paperlike protectors, it continues to be of the highest quality and amazingly have only improved with each iteration. In an earlier generation I was worried about the claims of “new and improved” and a clearer screen, but they’ve nailed it every time. They provide easy to follow, clear instructions for applying the screen protector, with assisting stickers to help keep it aligned. Works very well. Overall the application process can be a bit stressful if you live in a dusty environment. Good film quality. But disappointed with fitting problems
9 April 2024

I cannot deny that the protectors feel and quality are good. However, the experience to fit it was horrible! I have wasted both protectors. I saw the guide video and followed the instructions, 2nd time exactly as the video guide, but dust was trapped in several places in both cases.Trying to remove the dust, apparently I bent too much the protector and due to the white of the bends, I went to the 2nd protector.I have fited a protector for my wife's iPad just after these, another brand, and clean on first try!?Something is clearly not well with this protector in terms of dust prevention...in fact, I was upset to see OUT of the video a "pro-tip" written down in the website, about using a humid shower environment to prevent dust...I read that late! After getting an ipad to write for uni, my handwriting just wasn't like it was on paper so i went looking for a solution. With paperlike it does feel like paper to me and my handwriting is looking more like it used to on real paper. For me it is less the sound but more its resistance that makes it perfect. I have also improved my writing speed with the different feel. Also i have not made any encounters so far with smudges that are hard to clean. It still cleans up perfectly fine with a clean t-shirt just like the ipad itself. But I do have one negative point for all those who have their ipad as a general media comsumption device. I am lucky enough to have an old ipad to fall back on for watching tv in sunlight but if you don't have that you might want to reconsider.TLDR: feels like paper, writing is a treat but don't watch anything in sunlight

Paperlike iPad Screen Protector

I have been using the Paperlike screen protector with my iPad Pro for over 3 years and really love this product. I recently purchased the newest iPad Pro and purchased the latest version of the of the screen protection along with the drawing glove and Paperlike Apple Pencil tips. This is a fantastic combination. Find myself writing, scribbling and doodling more now on my iPad. I have removed my large paper tablets from my backpack. I find myself only needing to carry a small 4x6 paper pad as a quick backup. All of my meeting notes are now maintained on my iPad. I highly recommend this combination of products from Paperlike. Great products.

Paperlike is great for heavy users of Apple Pencil
23 August 2024

I love using my Apple Pencil with my iPad to take notes. However, the experience of note taking on my iPad has improved considerably after fitting a Paperlike screen protector to my iPad.The Paperlike screen protector provides a similar feeling to using a conventional pen on real paper. Note taking is now a much more tactile experience. I highly recommend Paperlike to iPad users who use their iPad for note taking or journaling.Who is Paperlike not for? Those who primarily use their iPad for photo or video editing as Paperlike does introduce a slight mat finish when fitted to the iPad, taking the edge off image sharpness and muting colour purity and vibrancy slightly.
