I have 24 A/C shirts now for our hot, consistently sunny San Diego weather, including 4 long-sleeved versions. I scour WornWear and have scored a few there over the years, but they are hard to find available. I am 5'9" and built pretty stocky so I sized up recently to XL and was happy with that choice. Maybe it is just me, but these shirts seem to shrink on decadal time scales. ;) I hope that you will design more dark green and brown colors because Ash Tan and Khaki are really popular shorts colors and they look good together. The "Discovery: Ink Black" color containing brown and tan was a really good start! Thank you, Patagonia.

Thank you so much for bringing back solid white. I've already bought two more of them. Two requests:1. Please also consider adding back the solid color CLASSIC NAVY or NAVY BLUE (hopefully NOT the New Navy, which is much less deep, rich, and classic)2. It would be great if you would also consider bringing back the long-sleeve version of this shirt, especially in white (which I believe was called the A/C Steersman shirt). For those thinking of purchasing the white version, be aware that it is a little see-through, so tattoos, or anything else on your body or that you're wearing under it will be a bit visible. Not a bad thing, just a heads-up. (Another reason that the classic navy color would be a good addition.)

I was given my first Patagonia AC shirt 4 years ago. It quickly became my favorite shirt. I was given my second AC shirt 3 years ago. I have almost worn my first two out and just bought myself a new AC shirt. They are the most comfortable shirts I have ever worn. No wonder they sell out quickly when they come into stock.

These short sleeve A/C shirts are a bit tight after a wash. The long sleeve version is my hot humid weather/ vacation go to. I’ve had to source old stock for those. Please bring them back. I’m not holding my breath but do hold out hope they return in the future.
I've had a long history with the A/C Shirt. I purchased my first one 10 years ago and promptly bought more. Some have been worn until they couldn't be worn anymore, but I always kept a supply in my closet for the simple reason that these are by far the best summer shirts I have ever used. They are light and airy, certainly cooler than any T-shirt,and they can be used anywhere; they are at home anywhere from trailheads to museums to restaurants to monasteries, from the high deserts in the Southwest to tropical rain forests. As equipment, they do the one thing great products do when you use them--they perform their intended purpose so well that they disappear when you wear them. For their weight and lightness, the fabric is surprisingly strong as well. I usually travel with a shoulder bag or camera backpack. I've been impressed with the shirt's ability to withstand wear and tear. Another advantage to their lightness is that these shirts pack small. The first iteration of the A/C Shirt ran slightly too baggy. The second ran slightly too short and tight. I am glad that they've arrived at a happy middle ground. I am also happy that they have started making these in solids. Their Cuban Blue is the 8th A/C Shirt in my closet and I look forward to additional colors down the years.Could Patagonia make this shirt better? Maybe right hand pocket, but if that takes away from this shirt's legendary cooling factor,I'll gladly skip it and just pack light.

I’ve been wearing Patagonia shirts for years, including two Fjord flannels purchased this winter. However, the length of this A/C shirt is way off. I am 5’8” and wear a medium. This shirt hangs down well past my pockets and is probably 4 inches too long. It might fit fine if you are a size medium and 6’2”. I’ve never had this issue before with Patagonia and very disappointed with it.
Admittedly I don't like to wear button up shirts when it's hot out. I feel very self-conscious of the look--like I'm wearing one of those do-it-yourself tank tops/gym shirt made from ripping sleeves off of a t-shirt (or a nicer long sleeve shirt in this scenario). Or, it's like I'm maybe wearing in an Aloha shirt or something. Then I see this A/C shirt, mine in white, and give it a try. It made me 1) physically comfortable as it stays very cool in the summer and 2) mentally comfortable as I felt confident in my appearance with it on.With jeans or nice casual pants, it felt like I was dressed up instead of down or too casual. Shorts I presume would achieve the same outcome. At this point, I've just done work and some more formal play. It didn't disappoint.
While the fabric of the shirt itself is soft and comfortable, the shirt's 3XL size does not appear to give enough space around the waist/lower torso area nor in the sleeves. First, the sleeves are /tight/ and do not appear to have enough room for a larger individual's arm to loosely fit through. Second while standing, the shirt fits and looks pretty good. However upon sitting, it's obvious that there isn't enough fabric in the waist/torso area causing taut stretching and a pulling apart of the buttons.I have other Patagonia 3XL shirts, vests, and jackets and have never come across either problem before. So, the size and shape issues appear to be specific to this model of shirt.
These are the only short sleeve shirts I ware, My issue was they did not have many colors to choose from. I have them all, but now only buy White, and diy them any color I choose using RIT Diy from Wall Mart, it only takes a few minutes and makes them very custom. I now have Army green, Brown, electric blue, wine. Solved my own problem.
