*Nearly* Flawless Sweater

TLDR; great sweater, decent fit for someone who struggles choosing between XL/XXL, only big downside is the elbows show wear very quickly if you sit at a desk alot, just the nature of the material I think and cant really be helped.I'm a little over 6'2 240 lbs, and I always have trouble finding a fit between XL and XXL. This sweater is no different, but I don't blame Patagonia for it; I just have a weird body size/type. The sleeve length is perfect for me (some might feel its a bit short) and it does ride a bit high on the waist, but I do think thats kind of just the style they're going for. It feels slightly tight around my torso, so I usually wear a thin undershirt underneath. As for the warmth of the sweater, its not designed for winter (or at least real winter ... MoreTLDR; great sweater, decent fit for someone who struggles choosing between XL/XXL, only big downside is the elbows show wear very quickly if you sit at a desk alot, just the nature of the material I think and cant really be helped.I'm a little over 6'2 240 lbs, and I always have trouble finding a fit between XL and XXL. It could be paired with a windbreaker outer shell and get further use of it as the temps drop lower if you wanted though. It's actually really lightweight, and not having a hood makes it work great as 2nd layer. For me the coldest I wear it with nothing else on top is about -3c to -4c depending on the wind. The biggest issue I have with it is how the material on the elbows has gotten squished down and show wear already after only about 2-3 months of wear. It's incredibly comfortable so I always wear it around the house, & I sit at a desk alot with my elbows on the table for my mouse/keyboard, so thats why its happening. As I said earlier I don't know if I would call it a real flaw because its just the nature of the material I think. (Other than this its holding up perfectly of course)I really love the sweater so I'm thinking of looking into adding some type of patch to the elbows to prolong its life, and it could be an idea to pass along to the design team. Maybe including a patch that blends in since they are a bit flashy which some customers might not like. Thanks Patagonia for the great product as always!

Great quality - poor fit

I'll preface this by saying I own a few other sweaters from Patagonia (Better Sweater 1/4 zip and Cotton Quilt Snap-T) and they're a Large. The fit is great and I have zero complaints. When I bought this I bought a large as well - big mistake apparently. This definitely runs big. Arm length was good, but the body of it makes me feel like I'm wearing a garbage bag and I'm swimming in it. Not sure why such a large discrepancy between the different makes. Quality of the sweater is fantastic though. Very comfortable, super warm, and I couldn't be happier there. Fit is the only issue.I'm 6'0" and about 200lbs.

As I write this, I am wearing a Lightweight Synchilla Snap T that is almost 15 years old and is still in perfect condition. My wife has one that is more than 20 years old and is still going strong. They are warm, never go out of style and last forever. Some people gripe about the lack of pockets = point taken. The fit is "relaxed", meaning if you want layers underneath, go with your regular size; but if not, you can easily size down. I wear an XL in everything else Patagonia but I have this one and one of the heavier model both in Size L. Lots of people complain about the lint they throw off; so the first thing you should do with a new one is toss it into the washing machine = problem solved. Never, never, NEVER put these in the dryer! Totally unnecessary = they dry ... MoreAs I write this, I am wearing a Lightweight Synchilla Snap T that is almost 15 years old and is still in perfect condition. Love it!
5 February 2022

This is my first Synchilla Snap T Fleece and I absolutely love it.I live in Northern CA and although we dont have true winters here this fleece is perfect for me. I wear it around the house when we dont want to run the heater, to walk the dog, run errands in, and just to chillax in.I have had it for a week, got it on a Monday and literally have worn it everyday! Its the first thing I put on when I get home. The size for me runs big. Like one to two sizes big. For reference, I wear a large in my Better Sweater and Nano Puff that both give me a little room to spare. With this fleece I got a large and its big still. I almost think I could wear a medium to give me a more fitted look. This isnt a complaint but more of a heads up for future buyers.Maybe not the most ... MoreThis is my first Synchilla Snap T Fleece and I absolutely love it.I live in Northern CA and although we dont have true winters here this fleece is perfect for me. Oatmeal Heather shed like a sick animal
10 February 2023

I was gifted the oatmeal Heather version for Christmas and its simply unbearable. I wore it out of the package and it shed an unbeatable amount on ever surface of my home. I wore it in my car and the seatbelt straps were absolutely ruined and it took me an hour to de lint everything.I washed this thing easily 12 times, delicate cycle, regular cycle, and even heavy duty.It WONT STOP SHEDDING.It was a gift so I cant complain but I simply cant and dont wear it. Maybe its just that color in particular but the hype was lost on me

One of the best fleece's on the market
9 May 2022

I bought one of these used on eBay because I didn't want to spend the whole $120. If you can't find a pre-loved one in great condition however, it's totally worth your buck. This baby has kept me warm at WhiteFace mtn. (ADKs) as an insulation layer under my primary jacket in -10 F before. It's no joke. I've noticed the elbows have padded down since I've had it but it maintains it's warmth no doubt. It's not great for plane travel because it doesn't really pack down but I won't go anywhere that might have a breeze without it. The only competition it gets in my closet is from my Kuhl fleece which feels and acts much more rugged but I haven't been shy to get dirty with this either. If add that you should buy true to your typical snug sweatshirt size. I'm a thinner guy ... MoreI bought one of these used on eBay because I didn't want to spend the whole $120. Overall, a great bang for you buck that if treated right, will last you a lifetime.P.s. don't dry it after you wash it. Air drying it will make it last longer.

Sheds like crazy
13 January 2022

I got this fleece in the Cottage Isle color and its shedding a shocking amount of fibers on everything it touches. The small fibers have a reflective sheen so theyre highly visible. Ive tried washing and drying it several times as per the response on another review but nothing seems to help. The fibers cover my car seat/seatbelt, my pants/undershirt, and everything else it comes in contact with. If it was a small amount of shedding I wouldnt mind it but this is on another level, I can see them floating in the air whenever I move around and they end up all over the room. Seems like a safety issue since the tiny plastic fibers could easily end up in my airways when theyre floating around like this, or all over my pets if they go near it. Synchilla Satisfaction! Happily surprised with differences between the men's vs women's Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T pullover!
14 July 2022

I'm a petite woman between 5'0 - 5'1 height, 108-115 pounds (muscular, with muscular upper arms and shoulders, which does make men's cuts better fitting there), and I have bought the men's XXS in other Patagonia items in the past, and most recently in this Lightweight Synchilla Pullover. Obviously the Lightweight Pullover Snap Synchilla is a more relaxed fit/style, whether in women's or men's, but I knew what to expect and am very happy with it!The men's Lightweight Synchilla has some real quality improvements compared to the women's (although both are the same price) :The men's collar is made of 2 layers of Synchilla fleece fabric and is slightly taller (by about the width of 1 - 1.5 of the top of collar piping) to better cover the neck and provide warmth, ... MoreI'm a petite woman between 5'0 - 5'1 height, 108-115 pounds (muscular, with muscular upper arms and shoulders, which does make men's cuts better fitting there), and I have bought the men's XXS in other Patagonia items in the past, and most recently in this Lightweight Synchilla Pullover. The collar on the men's version is functional, cozy, and 2 layers of Synchilla fleece, which helps it to keep it's shape. And the pocket is so much bigger!! I was assuming there'd be a bit larger pocket on the men's compared to women's, but I was surprised at how much difference in size!(I understand that many women may not want larger pockets on breast pocket area, but as a petite muscular woman, whose body more resembles a gymnast, I don't really have the problems other women may have with breast pocket(s).The men's XXS cuts seem to be shorter and fall higher up on hip/waist than XS women's in this Lightweight Pullover Synchilla and (from experience and past purchases) most vests, which is perfect for shorter women. That info won't be useful to most people, but just wanted to share that beta for fellow short muscular women.

The product sheds fleece fibers - Disappointing for the price
8 November 2022

I purchased the Oatmeal Heather style Synchilla Lightweight Snap-T Pullover and wore it for over a year. The product is soft, comfortable and keeps the body very warm over winter. However the fleece would not stop shedding all over my clothes, it was frustrating having the fleece fibers all over my pants and tops. Even after machine washing the jumper numerous times, the product would continue to shed. It became a very embarrassing product to wear having all the fibers come on to anything you touch.Thankfully Patagonia has refunded me a gift card in the amount of the purchase. But I am very disappointed for the expensive price you pay, that its not reflected in the quality of the product.

Timeless Style That Lasts Forever
2 September 2023

I have a couple of the Lightweight Synchilla Snap Ts and procrastinated getting this heavier version. Now that I have one, I realy like the extra weight and warmth. I've even slept in it! If you don't plan on wearing much underneath, then you might want to consider going down one size; as they DO run on the large size. I wear XL and even XXL in other Patagonia products; but find Large in this model and the Lightweight version to fit me just fine with, say, a Capilene long sleeve underneath. A word of advice: Choose your color carefully in this iconic Top, because you're going to have it and wear it for years to come!
