Normally wear over a t-shirt or thermal but can totally make it halfway dressy with a collared shirt under it. Not the heaviest, warmest fleece I. The world, but it's not supposed to be. Best part is the size. Im the size of a silverback gorilla and have long arms and rarely find fleeces with long enough sleeves without getting a tall size, and the selection of talls normally is lame without paying more. So yeah, these things are perfect for what I need and will probably have one on about every day from now until next April or May.

I owned a couple of these sweaters years back, but gained weight during covid, and they no longer fit. I purchased two more in a larger size.These sweaters are as good as ever, maybe even better. Worth every penny. They are as comfortable, breathable, and warm as before. The stitching is excellent. There are no "scratchy" parts to any of the stitching. The zipper is a "ykk" zipper. The sweater extends down far enough beyond my hips. The arms are tapered, so they do not hang loosely at the ends, nor get in the way of what i'm doing.The only downside i noticed is that they have removed the little string they use to have at the neck/collar, for hanging the sweater in a coat hook. Other than that, these sweaters are the best around.

This is a basic pullover fleece. Simple and perfect. Its well-made with all of the attention to detail I expect from Patagonia (seams, stitching, no hot spots). It is lightweight and the fit is not too snug. But also not too baggy. Super comfortable. I got the black and have just ordered the tan. It is the perfect weight for everything. I see this is as daily wear for me in the fall-winter seasons - lounging to running to a layer under my shell for skiing, etc.

The Micro D fleece is the when in doubt choose it fleece. It’s unchanged over many years and that’s a good thing. To often when Patagonia has a good thing some new product manager comes in and changes a product just for the sake of change and runes a good product. Thankfully the Micro D has been left alone and that’s a very good thing. Fit is roomy making it easy to put over other layers. It can be both technical and casual with it leaning towards the casual side. More color options are needed as they hav become basic the last two years. A great everyday fleece
I am 6'0" and 160 lbs. and seem to be in between sizes. I first bought the Large because it is typically what I wear. They were too big in the shoulders, sleeves were too long and the waist loose fitting. I switched to medium and got a much better fit. In a perfect world, I would make the sleeve circumference slightly bigger and the sleeve a 1/2 inch shorter, but its really not an issue. I also prefer the old style engraved logo to the current sew on but i'll stop whining now. The piece itself is great. Comfy, great fleece material and perfect for my uses. Good looking, a bit of warmth, packable and versatile. Recommend!
I initially ordered a medium as I'm a size medium in a Better Sweater. Had to return it for a large. The process was simple and free.In trying on the large, it initially seemed too big, especially length wise. I rolled the dice and washed it and, fortunately, the size scaled down a bit and now it fits perfectly.This is a forever shirt worth every dollar once you get your sizing right.

I usually prefer their designs to anything else, because fleece doesn't always have the same features we are used to with other fabrics, where it is super body fitting, stretchy, and doesn't attract cat hairs like a magnet. Polartec is the best fabric maker, or Marton Mills when Patagonia worked with them back in the day.The problem with my favorite fleece company is they have 100 gsm microfleece, 200 gsm microfleece, 280 polar fleece and a 300 something polar fleece. Their designs with polar fleece are great, but they don't make anything I love with their 200 gsm microfleece, hence why I am here.Couple points:*The arms are good, albeit a little tight in width. I think the cuff is loose, but as long as I can push it up to my elbows when things get warm, I don't mind.*The zipper should go down to your sternum, period. 1-2 inches too short. Not everyone wants to take layers on and off all day, and would rather just have a way to dump heat when they need to.*I think the bottom of this should just have slits so it falls back down. My favorite fleece company does a really good job of this. Hips are bigger than the waist, and when you reach your arms up and the garment has no inclination to fall back down on its own, it is frustrating to pull it down especially when you have an outer jacket helping lift the midlayer up. I guess it looks good if you are trying to fit in with people, but don't like these designs that just end up fighting your hips all day as they and the jacket work together to help them ride up.My conclusion to this garment is I feel like it was made with fashion in mind as well as function. My biggest problem with Patagonia with the fleece department is they are too often tinkering with the material each year, that you get bad years with it, where it is no better than a Wal-Mart fleece with hairs flaking off. This year is fine thus far for this garment.I also just dislike the bottom cutoffs for many of Patagonia's fleeces including this one. The synchilla's bottom elastic, for example, is an awful design unless you are trying to keep ticks out from winter.

Since then, I've submitted feedback over phone and email to potentially bring back the fit of this line but have not seen anything new in the past 5 years.The fit of the snap t pullover and this sweater is what I love - it's true to size. Your Synchilla runs larger, a XS could fit like a medium of the Snap T Pullover. The Hoodini is only 1/2 zip and fits differently. The better sweater is 1/4 zip which is good but the fleece sweater material is a fan favorite including for me.Would appreciate if we could bring back the fit of the Micro D Snap T Pullover or reintroduce the product altogether. I am muscular 6'5", 225 lbs with a 46 chest and 33 waist and long arms. I initially purchased the XL, which is my normal size, but I was swimming in it. I exchanged for a L which fits perfectly, even at my height, the length in both torso and arms is correct with a tad extra. If you're in that 6'4" - 6'6" range but with a trim build, L is the way to go, especially if you intend to wear as a base layer.As always, quality garment. Super light and comfortable. Perfect for work over a polo shirt.
This is light enough to wear with a collared shirt to the office but warm enough to layer with Patagonia micro puff jacket on 20+ degree days. I'll wear this without a coat on 40+ degree days if I'm doing more strenuous activities. It's also nice to wear indoors when it's chilly in the house because it's very soft and fits comfortably without constraining movement. It's very light especially for how warm it is.I know a guy who was unhappy with the hardier and more technical "Better Sweater quarter zip" because it's too warm to wear indoors. He was much happier with this unfortunately named Micro D quarter zip.I'm 6' 2" 185 lbs and have a longer torso. The large fits great, especially the torso length.
