These are great! The same great casual loose feel as baggies, but without the cheese grater liner! And they certainly look a little more sophisticated! I feel kind of dressed up wearing these! Another great product from Chouinards gang! I greatly appreciate all of your fine gear as well as your efforts to be good people!!

Compared to the normal baggies, these differ in a few ways. One, obviously the fabric. You wouldn't want to swim in these, though they do still dry off pretty quick when liquid is spilled on them. They feel lighter weight than the baggies too, and overall much breezier. They're a little slimmer around my legs than the baggies. The pockets aren't nearly as deep, so you don't have to dig down to your knees to retrieve things from your pockets and things you're carrying down there aren't swinging around as much. Though the front pockets still have the wide opening that goes basically half-way down the shorts, so it does feel like there's a real risk of things you put in the pockets falling out. The back button pocket is great and very secure though. As someone that ... MoreCompared to the normal baggies, these differ in a few ways. One, obviously the fabric. The back button pocket is great and very secure though. As someone that doesn't feel the same love so many others do for the normal baggies, I think these are definitely one of my favorite shorts. I haven't had issues with them tearing yet like others complain about, but the fabric's thinness and weave does make it feel like it'll be a likely issue. My only real complaint though outside the front pocket opening is that there isn't a 5" inseam option like there is for the normal baggies--these are super comfortable and look great but they hang almost down to my knees when standing, and I personally prefer a shorter short, and I'd gladly pay for an version with a bit less fabric on it. Overall though I highly recommend these, especially if you're somewhere with a warmer summer.

Another great line of shorts from Patagonia! No surprise there! Another iteration of the excellent Baggies! No liners, great fit , this material is a little more heavy duty than the BaggiesNaturals. You could still look presentable at a function, but you could also work in these without worrying about them snagging or easily tearing! Keep up the good work guys!

Incredibly Comfy, Everyday Shorts
10 August 2022

I was looking for casual lounge shorts that I could lay around in but then go out to dinner or dress or dress down, and these fit the bill. I'm the multi-functional shopper and I don't own a lot because I love simplicity, and these shorts were my go-to for every day.I mean literally every day. I live in San Diego and I want all day, every day comfort. I wore them on the couch, went on walks, out to restaurants, out to breweries with friends, camping, light hiking, hanging at the beach, went to work meetings. So comfy, so light. Looks great and texture is awesome.Though I love them, I put 3 stars. Here's why. I only shop I Patagonia. Looks great and texture is awesome.Though I love them, I put 3 stars. Here's why. I only shop I Patagonia. Since 2015, I've only purchased Patagonia clothing for their quality of materials, quality of construction, and their iron clad guarantee (in additional to all their responsible practices & activism). And sadly, these didn't quite meet the quality of construction I find in my other Patagonia attire.I bought 1 of these last September, and loved it so much I got a 2nd so I could rotate. Here we are in August of the following year, they're both in threads. Seams fell out.. fabric ripped.. they're both literally in tethers. I patched them up wear I could, but they're beyond repair at this point. With that said, I literally only wear these shorts and I wear them every day... maybe I put them through the ringer more than others. But for that reason, even with their lightweight construction, I expect higher quality from Patagonia. Will I buy these again? 100%, I'm ordering replacements this week. Can't beat the comfort and versatility. BUT I do expect and hope the product becomes more durable in the future.

Very comfortable elasticized waist with robust drawstring to keep 'em on when moving. Light material is super soft, permits lots of air flow and has a understated and "worn" heathered look mimicking linen. Deep side pockets and a single button-down flap pocket in back for your possibles. I bought one pair and immediately ordered two more after the first arrived. The Patagonia brand tag stands out really prominently on these if you're into that; I wish that it was embroidered (or absent all together) like on the Stretch Wavefarer Walk Shorts. Paired with a Go-To shirt to match, you're set to look hot and stay cool in the summer swelter.

My favorite shorts in the world
11 September 2023

These shorts are hands down my favorite shorts in the world. They are great for casual wear, super comfortable, WAY more durable than they have any business to be - all while looking great. I bought multiple pairs in every color expecting them to wear out quickly and still have tags on my backup pairs just waiting to wear out the first ones after constant daily abuse. Fantastic in the summer and super breathable - have even used for running and have Spring skied in them. 5/5

Nice and light weight shorts
2 March 2024

Shorts are really nice and light weight, color is awesome but major downside for me is they are very baggy and loose. The leg opening feels like they are wide leg which looks odd for shorts. Be warned they will look big on you even if the waist is the correct size.

Stylish, Comfortable, Decent

These have served me well over the past 2 years. They're moisture wicking which I love and are especially great for hot summer days, hiking etc. Sadly they finally tore, which came as a surprise since these are hemp based products. I expected it to be a little more durable, however they have served me well. I may buy another one or look for a similar, sturdier pair of shorts from Patagonia.

The best summer shorts
26 March 2024

THE BEST summer shorts ... the only downside: which size will Patagonia sell this year? I've purchased each year for the last 4 years, and sizing changes. I was XL, then I was L, now I'm back to XL. What will this years batch bring?Either way ... the best fabric ever for hot climate.

Typical Patagonia excellence!
6 June 2024

I have been buying, using, and swearing by Patagonia products for over 43 years. I still have two pieces in my possession, both still usable, that I purchased in 1982. I have numerous pieces of gear/clothing that I have been wearing For more than 30 years. The main reason I keep buying Patagonia gear/clothing is because I know that I can expect for every piece I purchase to be of high-quality, to have been well thought out in their construction, to have been tested in conditions that they were planned to have been used in. Another reason that has become also very important over the years is Patagonia‘s commitment to the betterment of our planet,. Yvon Chouinard, In my opinion, is an exemplary human being, as well as being one seriously cool dude! Thanks for all you have done for me and our planet! Also thank you for all the excellent gear and clothing, I expect I will be a Patagoniac until I become dust in the wind doing my part to replenish disappearing minerals!
