This jacket is warm and cozy. Its a perfect over-layer for crisp days and keeps me warm with little under it. Its not windproof but does the job.My only complaint about this is that it sheds, causing it to look much older than it is. Ive had it for few weeks and it already looks like I have had it for years! I have several Patagonia fleeces that have held up in great, looking-new condition for many years. But this one looks raggedy and matted already after wearing it a few times a week for three weeks. Not sure if it is the fabric composition or what. I will probably keep it for the coziness factor, but disappointed in the look of it.

Bought this jacket in hopes of it being my new favorite long haul flight cozy outerwear as well as for hiking in Inner Mongolia and along the Great Wall on our recent trip to China. Was great for the plane. It's cozy, very warm (probably best for temps in 40-50F) true to size, but within a week of light use it had already developed a hole in the sleeve cuff. I also own 2 better sweaters, one of which I've had for 5+ years, with regular wear and no issues, so I expected much better quality from Patagonia (especially at this price point). It also sheds quite a bit.

After doing a lot of searching, I was quite excited to get this jacket. The fit is not flattering at all. I am 5’8” and 137 lbs. I used the size chart and ordered a medium in nouveau green. The colors are very pretty and the weight is perfect-very cozy. But….. the chest and shoulder area is large and bulky. The sleeves get smaller and smaller and are short. I had to stretch it over my watch because it got stuck on it. I would have exchanged for a small but that not have changed the sleeve situation. Good news is the customer service with this company is AMAZING and they made the return process very easy.

Good quality as always from Patagonia. Soft; pretty; comfortable, and I like the unusual color; pockets are a bit small. Seems unfair that women's jackets generally have pockets of inadequate size as compared to men's clothes. I can fit my phone in the jacket pocket with a bit of manipulating to have it fit, particularly difficult when sitting down. But I do like the style and degree of warmth for chilly autumn temperatures.
I bought one 3 years ago with a hood and wanted one with no hood and loved the beautiful gray green. The fit wasn't right. It was longer and one of the shoulders was not sewn properly. It squared off awkwardly compared to the other shoulder. The fabric felt cheaper than my old fleece. Color was lovely, fit wasn't great and felt cheaply made. Even if the shoulder wasn't problematic, I still would have retuned it. For that price, it needs to tick all the boxes.
I purchased this jacket in October 2021, and have gone back and forth on getting rid of it since initially getting it. I am 5-4, with a shorter torso and an athletic/curvy figure (little waist, quite some hips). This is arguably the highest quality but most unflattering jacket I have had, and I have had many fleece jackets. The jacket is built in a way where the arms are quite snug, but the torso/chest portion is too wide for it to fit well against your body. The armpits/shoulders do not quite line up, and the length is ridiculously long. The uncomfortable fit makes it really hard to wear this in any athletic atmosphere, as it is entirely too long to wear comfortably with a harness, and is also too odd fitting to comfortably have a backpack on. I think the jacket would be better and more short-person-friendly with the addition of a tighter-cinching hem, a more cropped length, and a more narrow torso. Sad considering the price!
I am a huge fan of Patagonia- not only for its commitment to the environment but also because of the high-quality clothing that lasts for years. I have two fleeces that I bought 10 years ago that are still in excellent condition. I am trying to expand my fleeces because I am tired of wearing them so tried to invest in this fleece. While the blue color I got is really cute - the material is so bulky and flattering and the fit is mind-numbingly unflattering. I do not understand how it's possible to create such an ill-fitting jacket. Also - I feel like a shrinking person - I am 5'2", 120 lbs and an XS was huge on me. I looked like a football player. I also tried to get the children's XXL and that fit was terrible. Your fit guide makes me feel like Goldilocks. I have to order/exchange/return several sizes before either finding something that fits or giving up altogether. It took me three (3) tries to get the Lost Canyon jacket right. Then I bought a Synchilla jacket on sale, but it was way too big and I returned it (smaller size unavailable). Based on the fit, of the Synchilla jacket, I bought this Retro Pile jacket one size smaller. Although it fit in the chest, the arms were too tight and it was too long and snug in the hips. It also seemed to be very cheaply made. I'm returning this one, too. You say that your size charts are customized for each jacket, but that really doesn't seem to be the case. This is my first retro pile fleece after wearing more technical fleeces usually (R1), and I absolutely love it. The fit is perfect. Relaxed with the perfect length in the arms and torso. I am surprised to see how many reviews say the arms and hips are tight; I climb and have felt the arms have ample room, even if you have some muscle on you. The relaxed fit gives you a lot of room to layer a long sleeve or base layer under it, too. For reference, I wear small in Patagonia normally, weight about 140lbs last I checked.
I wanted a jacket that would keep me warm on cold winter mornings biking to work and look presentable in the office at the same time. This fleece jacket fits the bill. It kept me warm on windy walks on the beach as well, and is cozy when worn around the house. I was worried the fit would be a bit boxy, but it is fine. Definitely roomier than your regular XS, but at least allows for layering. I wish the pockets were deeper, but they still fit my phone, wallet, and keys no problem. This is currently my favorite jacket.
