A fleece was recommended for our trek to see the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. We just returned two days ago. Morningand evening temperatures required a fleece. This fleece was perfect to wear both times of day. It held up well in light showers as well. It is roomy enough to wear over tee shirts and has good deep pockets. Seems dirt repellent as it looked brand new after numerous trips in the brush.

My favorite all-time Patagonia piece. It does run large. I got this zip-up and a Nano vest in the same size, this is large on me, the vest is small on me. Other than that, this one is a winner. Fleecy and soft on both the outside and inside, I had to go for the full-zip because I'm constantly putting it on and taking it off based on what I'm doing around my cold house. It looks great, the stand collar gives it a little polish, plenty of room for layering, and no major elastic on the waist/hem (I've never been a fan of that). I love it.

I am disappointed. I had one of these ages ago that lasted forever and I loved it. I was excited to receive this as a gift but it's a real let-down. The fleece feels cheap, pills easily, and feels like it will get threadbare quickly; very different from other Patagonia fleeces I've had. And the sleeves get so narrow at the ends that I can't even wear a normal sweatshirt under it even though it's a Large. Feels like you guys dropped the ball on this one.
