I was initially attracted to this jacket because I like the versatility and idea of a reversible jacket. It seemed like it could easily transition from a zip-up sweater to wear in the office to a windproof jacket when heading out to lunch. I read some reviews on this website which stated that the collar of the jacket was rather stub and did not feel sufficient to protect your neck from the wind and other elements. I found this to be true, particularly on the jacket side not the fleece-sweater side. It was a bit annoying when I was outdoors but nothing too serious. However, multiple other reviews stated that the fleece-sweater side and the jacket side felt like two vastly different sizes. However, multiple other reviews stated that the fleece-sweater side and the jacket side felt like two vastly different sizes. I initially rationalized those complaints; it makes sense that reversing a jacket inside-out would make it feel a bit different, for sure. But as I wore both sides, it truly was such a vast and noticeable difference that I could not ignore it. I ordered an XS after thoroughly measuring myself and when I wore the fleece-sweater side it fit more in-line with a size S, but when I wore the jacket portion it fit like an XXS to the point of not being comfortable. Finally, the fleece kept flaking off every time I wore it! The polyester fluff would end up on my pants, my car seats, my couch, and my office chair. Nothing seemed to help including giving the jacket a good brushing with a lint roller. All three of these reasons when combined made me return this jacket. I could deal with some awkward sizing and a bit of a short collar but when combined with the constant shedding of lint, for the money spent I expected a little more. I hesitate to give this jacket a lower rating because I think given the right conditions and circumstances it could be a great purchase for someone. If you're looking for a versatile piece to add to your camping or hiking bag - one that you might need to adapt to changing weather conditions or throughout the day then this would be a great! A shorter collar might even be good for personal ventilation on a long and sweaty hike. But as everyday wear, this piece unfortunately falls short.

This Microdini jacket, is extremely practical and versatile, and really quite sharp being a fleece jacket, the shell side reminds me of a Cassic James Dean look / rebel without a cause. I got it in teal, I love the colors and the materials and quality are top notch as to be expected from Patagonia. This light teal color especially on the shell side will stain easily (my only concern). I really love this jacket and am looking to get a lot of different use out of it daily if need be, and keep it a long time, as long as I do my part and take good care of it.Plenty heat in here. The sleeves seem a bit shorter then normal, however I have verryy long arms and they still fit in that size L just fine. Cool Jacketo! Highly recommend to anybody, would make a super gift as ... MoreThis Microdini jacket, is extremely practical and versatile, and really quite sharp being a fleece jacket, the shell side reminds me of a Cassic James Dean look / rebel without a cause. This jacket is great, cozy and fun. It’s potentially the best reversible item I ever had. I find reason to reverse this all the time. For example it’s cooler feeling with the fleece side out, but it’s super easy to flip fleece in if it starts raining. It beaded off an unexpected light rain very nicely. Provides both wind resistance and warmth, personally I find this the perfect 50s to low 60s F casual jacket. It’s not super breathable, so I wouldn’t take it on long hikes, but great for around town. One nitpick, wish they would remove the small size tag the back of it, that diminishes its reversibility, most of the tags are in the pocket, don’t know why they can’t put all tags in the pocket. Also the tag isn’t shown in the product photos which I looked for before ... MoreThis jacket is great, cozy and fun. It’s potentially the best reversible item I ever had. Overall it’s a great in-between jacket for transitional weather and seasons, would highly recommend if you live in a windy cool area like Northern California. Everything I wear in Patagonia is a medium and this fit great. 6’1 167lbs.

I love the jacket…material, quality and style is great BUT be aware the two sides of the reversible jacket fit different. The fleece inside makes for much snugger fit. If you want a looser fit, wear the nylon on the inside. Also, the jacket comes very wrinkled in the shipping bag! Run the jacket in dryer with a wet towel to assist in removing the packing wrinkles.
This is my second one. First one lasted 15+ years and aside from the cuff material fraying, is still mostly just fine.Zipper broke a few years ago and Patagonia repaired it AND fixed the cuff. I was there to buy a new one. No such luck, but they fixed it and mailed it back to me a couple of weeks later. No charge.Every year I check to see if they've got one in stock and leave disappointed. I live near the main store so not a big deal to check. This year I scored! Yay! Best jacket, worth every penny.
The jacket overall is nice, made of what seem to be good, durable materials, and is very comfortable. GETS YOU WARM VERY QUICKLY. I was misled by the picture showing a model who is 6’1 wearing a Medium size. Perhaps I like to wear my jackets a bit bigger, but in my experience if I lift my arms and my stomach gets exposed, the size is too small.I would recommend getting this at a size large, if you’re a slim, 6’0 foot guy (183 cm). I got it in a medium.
Everyone seems to complain about the fit when the fleece side is in because it runs larger than the nylon side. Essentially it feels like layering with an XL as the base layer and a L jacket over that.I found a solution. Shrink the fleece side which is polyester. The nylon side will not shrink and you will NOT ruin the jacket.I did 3 wash and dry cycles with the hottest water setting and then dried the jacket with fleece side out while zippered shut. The fleece side shrunk. I would say a good 15%. The fleece side used to be baggy but is now much more taut. When I put it on fleece side in it feels much better.Try it you won’t ruin the jacket because the nylon side will not shrink.
I have enjoyed the Patagonia brand for years and own countless pieces of clothing and equipment which I use on adventures around the world regularly. Unfortunately this is the first item I have ever purchased which I do not truely love. The sizing- This item is huge! Much bigger than any other item of the same size. The Fleece - It is very warm and lovely on the skin, however, it is balling and shedding at an extremely fast rate and wearing a pack on the fleece side is wearing through the shoulders without a couple of weeks.Overall - the jacket is warm, the shell side wind proof and water repellent. If it wasn’t for the two issues one of which is quite significant for the items longevity it would be another hit.
Jacket looks sweet, which is a huge plus, Patagucci always nails the design. I have been wearing this jacket nonstop the past few weeks; perfect time of year for it, keeps you warm and having the soft shell is a nice wind break, but still breathable so you don't overheat. I wear it at work where I'm constantly in and out of doors, so its nice not to sweat every time I come in. Works great as a midlayer under a hard shell or rain jacket. Super comfy, love the interior/exterior chest pocky.
When I saw this on sale and at a good price, I just had to buy it. It's not every day that I can find sale items in my size on sale. This is a great warm jacket for cool spring/fall evenings and mornings. As all other reviews this does fit with more room worn with the nylon on the inside, but it fits me great with the fleece on the inside. I am 5'9" 170 with a 42" chest and the Large is great. My only complaint is that although I got it a good price it is now on sale at a awesome price.
