Hi I bought this fleece about a month ago and it’s been shedding badly since I got it. So bad that I have to wash my clothes after to get it all off of me. To be honest it’s embarrassing and also bad for the planet all I can think about is what about all the micro plastic that is going back into the environment … it’s made from recycled materials but its going back into the world. What’s the point. I’ve washed it 8 times still as much or more shedding. It’s really disappointing.

I was on the fence about this purchase for a while. I have never spent so much on a sweater before (thrifty gal over here) and felt like it was unnecessary. For whatever reason, I splurged. I have now worn this every day since I got it!! Blue joy is such a fun pattern and it is so cozy without being heavy. Other reviews are right, it does shed in the wash a bit and stick to other fabrics (stuck to my baggies like crazy). But overall I’m so glad I bought it. Perfectly oversized, comfortable, fun.

My friend buy it and let me try it on. And I loved it! So less than a month later, I buyed mine and the quality of the product isn't consistent. Hers was more soft and more true to size. Mine isn't soft and the sleeve are wirdly long. I buyed the synchilla fleece jacket afterward and the sleeve are at least 3 inches shorter if not four. And in both cases, the synchillas are loose except at the hips. They are very tigh there, and I don't have particuliary large hips. Please Patagonia, make women clothes with women body shape in mind. I am not mad because I like my synchillas but I am desappointed.

My understanding was that the high cost of Patagonia products is due to the high quality and “sustainability”. However I found that this fleece sheds a high amount of polyester plastic all over my other clothes. I washed it for the first time hoping that would help and it shed a huge amount of plastic lint. I don’t understand how it can be marketed as sustainable when it falls apart and sheds plastic constantly into our water. That’s not environmental awareness.You can’t rely on their “Ironclad Guarantee” either because they say in their policy that if you don’t have the receipt, they will give you a credit for the last sale price of the item. I was given a $76 credit which is less than 50% of what I paid for it. I washed this ASAP in a load by itself, inside out before I used it, and then I did throw it in the dryer by itself on low to dry first time around. There was ALOT of lint left behind, however I think it helped bind the fabric a bit more. It sticks to certain materials, like seatbelts, some legging materials, however after you wash it and hang to dry a few times it really doesn't shed. I have only used this to run errands and around the house so far, but fully intend to use it hiking/backpacking. I absolutely love Patagonia's LW Synchillas.Whenever cool weather arises you can find me wearing one. I find this season's fleeces feel a bit thinner then my old Synchillas (possibly because they are making them even lightweight?)Overall 10/10. Once you purchase one, it's hard to not add more to your wardrobe. Amazing quality!
I’ve never written a review here before but I got two of these sweaters today and really love them. I’ve gotten Patagonia synchilla before and didn’t love them. The material on these are much more flexible and comfortable. I got the rust color and grey with navy in size medium. Rust goes perfect with my Uggs! I probably could’ve gone with small but I like my clothes a little more breathable. I am 5’6” 130lbs for reference. Really excited to wear these on my trip to Quebec.
There is a reason these have been made for so long and people love them...they live up to the hype. They are so warm and stylish and a great cut-slightly oversized, but buy your normal size. Others have complained about the shedding and while it does, it usually goes away after a few washes. I personally don't mind the shedding as this fleece is worth it. I noticed the price did increase this year, which is disappointing considering it was $119 last year. I'll still buy it every year, but only with a coupon or promo code! Not to mention they usually go on sale twice a year (once when the new spring models are released and second when the fall ones are) so can usually get a good deal. I've read other reviews mentioning a "shedding" problem, but so far THANKFULLY I haven't noticed or experienced it. At this time, all I notice is how super cozy, soft, lightweight, and overall comfy this pullover is.I am 5'3" and 110 lbs; I ordered this Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T Pullover in Size: XS & matching Micro Joggers in Size: Small. Feels true to size; I probably could've gotten away with an XS in the joggers but I like my leisure/hiking pants to be roomy. I ordered both the pullover/joggers in the "Wavy Blue" colour which is very pretty in-person. I like this product enough to want to order another set. The quality is great and seems durable to last my lifestyle as an avid hiker/climber. I'm happy with it :)
I got the gray with the green pocket and I love it. It goes with everything. I am 5'3" and weigh about 160lbs with a very wide bulky shoulder build while my torso is smaller. I was concerned at first on what size to get but the medium is perfect. I can still wear a heavy base layer under it and have a comfy amount of room. I wear a large in puff coats over this pullover because of it's bulk. Although it is "lightweight" it is still a good thick fleece and with a wool base layer I am fine in 40-50 degree weather.
