Why I returned them: the zippered knee pocket is too small for a modern-day phone. I'd always want my phone on my body (vs. in backpack) in a fully secured pocket when outdoors.Everything else is the usual high quality of Patagonia: good fabric, water-resistant, stitching that holds up for ages, correct sizing, cut well so they look good.If you don't have the same requirements for phone storage, good hiking/biking/climbing pants.

I was initially looking for the Traveler pants based on reviews. I went to my local store and they weren't in stock. I tried the Quandry pants on and WOW! They were so comfortable from the minute I put them on. I bought them for an upcoming trip so I haven't actually worn them yet, but I am very excited to use them soon. If I didn't have such wide hip bones I could probably wear a smaller size, but you have to love genetics! I have another pair on order and can't wait for them to arrive! I did try on the Traveler and I prefer these over the Travelers. Keep up the good work Patagonia!

I wore these pants on a stewardship weekend where I was taking down barbwire for hours. On several occasions I was SURE I had snagged these pants, but luckily, I did not! I liked these because they were warm enough on a cold day, but didn't stick to me as it warmed up and I began to sweat. I bought a 2nd pair and will continue to buy these as new colors come out. I do have to size up and they are still a little tight through out the thighs, but happy to find a women's multipurpose pant I really like. Please make these in a dark green!
The Women's Quandary Hiking pants are excellent! The fit is perfect and they look great on the trail or in town. These are great hiking pants since the pant legs are wide enough to fit over heavy hiking boots; this keeps trail "stuff" from flying into the boots and keeps rain out of them as well! The lower waistline is also great; the pants are really comfortable when scrambling up rocky mountainsides and squatting. There is no painful pull at the waist!! The fabric is wonderful as well. Water beads nicely in a light rain and the fabric wears well and washes clean very easily. I love these pants. Please keep making them and how about some additional colors!!! Thank you Patagonia for another great product!
I would have given these hiking pants a 5 star review if the side leg zip pocket was just a tad deeper so my iPhone fit in there with the pocket zipped. But even so, the pocket is deep enough that the phone fits in there without nicely. These are great hiking pants! They don't stretch out after several days of wearing them, the front pockets are very deep, and the back hip pocket also zips so I can keep ID, cash, card, whatever, secure. I am 5'3, and vary between 112-116 lbs and bought size 0, which I wear in regular street clothes, and 0 is a perfect fit. I now have in two colors, and am thinking of buying another color in these pants. I support Patagonia because of their support of conservation causes. My purchases come not wrapped in plastic, but plain paper, ... I knew what I was getting when I ordered these pants as I have three pairs already, but I wanted a different colour from grey or beige (I bought the dusty brown and would have also bought the green had it not been out of stock everywhere. The fabric is nice and light for summer and doesn't crease coming out of the dryer like some other brands do. My only problem is with available lengths, i.e., regular 32", short 30". I only need 28" so whether I order regular or short I still have to take inches off the length. Still, that's a small problem against having the most comfortable summer pants I've ever found.

My issue are the dual seams on the inner leg seem to rub and irritate my inner legs if worn too long. I am not sure if it is just my particular pair or if it is an issue with others. In addition the front pockets and especially the side pocket should be a bit deeper with the side pocket deeper with a bit more width. That would allow easier access to the side pocket. The front pockets are adequate, but with a larger fob (car) or more than 1 or 2 keys, your keys could fall out or be bulky and irritate your leg as you hike/walk. I have had a black pair for several years. They hold up to everything. I have worn them to an office, on a hike, out to dinner, to the beach, on long haul flights, and working outside. I do int'l relief work and I'm not kidding when I say I have met with prime ministers and also cleared rubble in these pants. They still look like they did when I bought them. The waist is flexible but looks good with a shirt tucked in. The fit is slim enough to be feminine but loose enough to work in conservative environments. The leg openings fit around boots but don't flare out. Lightweight enough for hot days. The only things not perfect are that the leg pocket is very small - not big enough for a passport or phone, and the belt loops are also small and only for narrower belts.
