There is an overwhelming bitterness to this marinade.. not sure if its vinegar or lemon or both but if that wasn't there this would be epic ps couldn't counter the bitterness even with yoghurt and honey

Go for it !

Have been using this paste for years & happy to say they dont play around with it too much & then spoil the taste like some other companies. I just add pinch of salt, half tsp ground green chillies & half tsp each of ground ginger & garlic paste in half bottle of paste which is usually enough for a medium sized chicken & perfection each time. This 6 pack is excellent value.

Good for those watching their weight!

The rest of the Patak's spice pastes have around 2-3 times the amount of calories per 100g and around 19% rapeseed oil. Whilst this isn't necessarily a bad thing when eating everything in moderation, this is a much lower fat and calorie alternative. It does have a slight sourness to it but this is easily corrected and sometimes disappears depending on the yoghurt used.

Good paste
12 January 2023

Really good paste for making tikka chicken. I use it to marinate chicken overnight so the flavour really develops. The flavour after it's cooked the next day is just as good as a takeaway.

Good quality marinade
30 January 2022

I marinaded two packs of the Asda 650g chicken thighs using a whole jar mixed with a 500g pot of natural yoghurt. I left it overnight and baked on a baking tray the next day. It’s never going to be as nice as Indian restaurant tandoori oven chicken, but we really liked this. It’s not chilli spicy, and it is a little sour. However, we really enjoyed it after cooking the chicken really well. Will try marinading lamb as I think it’d work well. Recommend.

Superb curry paste. Tried this yesterday, marinated chicken breast fillets for an hour then stir fried with onion yoghurt and more paste - it was easy and delicious.

What’s happened to this
14 June 2022

Used to use this all the time as my go to marinade. This time it was tasty enough I suppose but the whole thing was a bit pasty and thin had to use loads of fresh coriander to inject some authenticity not sure I’ll buy again

warning for children - E Numbers
24 May 2021

Very misleading that theyre pushing no artificial flavours or preservatives yet they cram it with E numbers that require actual warnings on the packaging... May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in Children - why Pataks decided to include these specific E Numbers anyway blows my mind and shame on Ocado for stocking it. Yes its legal but there is enough evidence to warrant an actual warning on the label, so why? They could easily find natural alternatives for the colouring or just leave it out entirely.
