I absolutely love this product and am always so sad when it runs out!!! The first week or so of using it I wasn't convinced but after some initial slight dryness to skin it suddenly changed leaving me with hydrated, luminous and visibly smoother skin. No scent and make up goes on fine on top. Pigmentation has improved too. It's the first time in years my skin hasn't broken out. Only downside I'd say is it's quite pricey and the packaging doesn't allow you to see when you're about to run out!

I am 55, I have relatively normal skin with hormonal breakouts and occasional areas of dryness in the winter.The first time I used this serum I put it on my skin and thought, OMG! What is this? It's like OIL! I can't put oil on my skin! But it felt really nice, and within a couple of minutes, it started soaking in and left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth, not oily and shiny. I have used Tretinoin for many many years, I am tolerant enough to use it daily (or even go up in dosage) but I alternate with this product, because of all the added benefits this serum gives me. My skin LOVES this stuff!

I was really excited about this Serum, it has such great reviews. I did my nightly skincare routine, clinique wash, normally use strivectin Serum, used Paula's Wrinkle instead, I always put on a night moisturizer too. I couldn't even use a moisturizer after it was so oily. My skin always sucks everything up, this would not absorb, when I woke up this morning it was still sitting on my skin. I spent a lot so I'm definitely disappointed. I'll be sticking to what I already use..

I was really looking forward to this but have been let down.Paula's Choice list the first two ingredients as silicones - including Cyclopentasiloxane.With these making up most of the formula the finish ends up feeling like it's "sitting" on your skin and never quite properly penetrating. I am fairly confident this has resulted in some breakouts which never normally occur.Fairly dissapointed given the price point - my fault though, I should have read the ingredients list properly rather than what's highlighted on the product splash.
I should have looked at the ingredients more carefully before purchasing this, but this brand does seem to have a good reputation. Which, after trying this product, completely baffles me. This isn't a serum, its straight up oil. Not just oily in texture, there is palm oil in the product-- literally a cooking oil. Gave it a shot, started making me break out almost immediately; it just sits on your skin in a greasy film. Wasn't able to use it long enough to really speak to anything good about it-- didn't seem to get any retinol irritation, but again, was only able to use it for a few days. Absolutely not worth the price, not with what is actually in the ingredients list. and I doubt I'll ever be purchasing from this brand again.
This product is absolutely amazing!!!!I am 42 and have Multiple Sclerosis and Uterine Cancer. My skin is horrible without makeup... The chemotherapy destroyed my skin, teeth and nails as well.However, I have used Paula's Choice off and on since the early 2000's.. THIS INTENSIVE RETINOL REPAIR SERUM results in amazing results! If you feel your skin getting sensitive or red, take a break and use either the Azelaic Acid Seum (careful it has a small amount is Salicylic Acid).Or the Gentle Repair Seum.Just my opinion: purchase 1 or 2 travel sizes first. They last about a week - so if you really like one, you'll have time to order and recieve it.By the way, I am a RN and Aesthetician in CA.

I layer my products and it is so difficult to find something that wouldn't be heavy or pilling. At first, I got scared by the product's texture - it looked like oil! But after I applied it and waited for 20 min, it absorbed leaving only a slight dewy look and not oily at all! Then I layer it with a moisturizer, or spf and then with foundation and it all looks great! My skin feels so soft! I have also noticed that my popped pimples or acnes heal my faster and without scarring after I started using this (retinol stimulates collagen production apparently). This product is oil based and caused me to grow a few pimples initially but I have learned to just use it every other night. Definitely start slow to acclimate your skin to it and you might not want to use the acids with this. I got overzealous and used this after using the black bottle BHA the same night, and my skin was red, blotchy and irritated for the next three days. I have tried so many recommended products for my face. From expensive to cheap, nothing has helped. Even prescription products have not resulted in any results.This is the first PC product I have tried, and I am hooked. I can tell it is actually doing SOMETHING beneficial. My skin has a long way to go. As I age I am dealing with loose skin, dark eye circles, bumps, discoloration, wrinkles and dryness. Recently diagnosed with lupus, my skin has aged rapidly.But I am seeing some improvement, and I am sold on this brand. My only question is which PC products I should add to my routine next for the most impact?
