What a great game! My 3 yr. old grandson insists on playing it EVERY DAY! As a grandparent, I love the fact that is cooperative rather than competitive. We either win together or we lose together. The game board is simple, and the pieces are well designed. It is a nice way to teach basic concepts. It helps with counting, taking turns, and sharing. It also is tailored to be a fast play which is imperative for a 3 yr. old's attention span.Ordering from Mindware was easy.

My son loves the game and we've played it at least 30 times since Christmas. It is about 10 minutes, as stated. It involves cooperation, strategy, luck and memory. It is fun but not too challenging for an almost 5 year old.Sometimes you have the excitement of just making it to the island before the volcano is built. Other times the volcano doesn't get built. It depends on the roll of the dice.

This is the second time I bought this board game for grandchildren. Our grandson won’t open it until Saturday but imagine he’ll love playing it with two of his siblings old enough to enjoy helping save the dinosaurs from the volcano. I played it with another grandson in a different household and loved the cooperation.
My six year old daughter loves playing this cooperative game! It took her a few rounds to get into the mindset of everyone working together to save the dinosaurs from the erupting volcano since most other games focus on just one person winning. We love the teamwork piece so we can strategize together.
This game is awesome! We bought a few board games for our 3 year old from this company and honestly they haven't disappointed us. This game is super easy to play for kids that 1) love dinosaurs and 2) for a kid that's either 4 yrs old or older. We love the fact that the game is cooperative meaning every wins and when playing with little kids it makes it much more easier. Bottom line, easy board game for dinosaur 🦕 lovers.
Late review. Game purchased in April 2020. Helped us survive Covid.Inspired by the double episode on Dino Dana, "Game of Bones", we went in search of a dinosaur board game. The cooperative nature of Dinosaur Escape made the prospect even more appealing.So, you've got dinosaurs and a game where kids who haven't got to the stage of learning how to lose graciously are given a fun way of getting a win. What's not to like?Minor point, a volcano eruption is quite hard to get, I would say. My adult competitive nature is itching to make that more likely. At the right time, I'll see if I can convince my young one to be daring. Maybe by marking one of the die's faces to change it to an eruption? That could make things rather interesting.
This has been my go to 4th birthday gift several times now! It’s had such a positive reaction from the parents being a non-competitive, team work game, that I’ve now also bought it for my son. He loves how interactive it is and having the different dinosaur play figures is a great addition! It’s a fun game that we enjoy playing as a family.
My 4.5 and 3 year old boys love it! They've actually modified it because they didn't like that the T-Rex didn't make it off the island before the volcano erupts. We now have 4 dinosaur figurines since we've added a small T-Rex from our own collection and the dinosaurs all run back to their start spaces when the footprint token is revealed instead of running from the T-Rex. The rules are simple, but it's far more enjoyable to play repeatedly (for me also!) than Candy land or HiHo Cherry-o. The game doesn't last more than 15 min at the longest, even with 4 dinosaurs. Working together toward a common goal has also helped alleviate some of the competitive nature between the two of them.
Our kids received this game for Christmas and it has been played multiple times a day ever since! It's simple to play and our three and five year old will play multiple rounds independently. Hands down, it's the best game we own. If you're on the fence, it's well worth it!
