Incredible build quality, and comfortable while wearing it while traveling with all my gear inside. Not sure if it is "waterproof" but it definitely kept all my gear dry after getting caught in a downpour on Kaua'i.Comfortably holds my Macbook(charger&cables), 28-70mm, 100-500mm, 50mm, 15-35mm, Canon R6 body, 3 hard drives.even if you're not looking for a camera bag this is the best backpack around. Simple access to all compartments.I picked this bag up on a whim right when I saw it. I owned the V1 20L already, I've been wanting the v2 30L and I'm glad I got it. both sizes offer so much versatility. It feels comfortable and secure even on really steep hikes. See images.

I own a couple Peak Design products already. This is my third PD purchase. I've been coveting a PD backpack for a while. I already own a Nomatic 40L travel backpack that I do really like, so I decided to check this out for my camera gear. I am not a professional photographer but I do really enjoy the hobby and try to improve my workflow and functionality whenever I can. This bag is hands down the best bag I've put on my shoulders. Even fully loaded, it rests on my shoulders comfortably and with only the slightest of that pull-up on the back of the shirt. The side handles are just SO CLUTCH. Fully loaded, I do feel like I'm putting just a tad too much stress on them, but they still feel super solid. With the magnetic shoulders, this makes quick trips with the pack ... Fully loaded, I do feel like I'm putting just a tad too much stress on them, but they still feel super solid. With the magnetic shoulders, this makes quick trips with the pack very easy.Build quality is phenomenal. I've told people, and I believe, that PD bags are (under normal use) indestructible. The weatherproofing of PD gear is serious and effective. The side access is, as marketed, the main feature of this bag. And it does work well. However, I think the zippers could have run a little further on the bottom to help the side flaps open more fully. On the other hand, the flap no fully opening (it has some clasp because of the design, does help prevent gear from spilling out. A slightly inconvenient way to solve this is to access the side flaps with the pack placed flat on the opposite side. But if you are using the side flaps while the bag is shouldered, then this isn't really a problem.I also recommend you decide which way you would un-shoulder the bag before you setup the organizing flaps. The included ones are adequate but at this price point, I think a couple additional options should be offered: something like single slot cubbies or small holsters that you can velcro in. Still, the organizers offer a lot of modular flexibility.I think they could have included another stretch pocket with magnetic clasp on the inside of the top flap, but that might also have interfered with the expansion capability. Yet, for so much other flexible and modular features, it seem odd this space is unused.Beyond that, the photos should speak for themselves. I have a gimbal, PD tech pouch filled with goodies, two cameras, an extra lens for the DSLR, batteries, chargers, et cetera, et cetera. There are still some empty pockets available for workflow and auxiliary items.Really, the biggest downside is that it is such a stylish bag, that it will really draw attention. Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings.

Been looking at this bag for a while. Itll serve as a nice backpack for travelling. The origami inserts are a great way to comparmentalize your bag. It will definitely keep a camera, lens, and whatever you throw in it safe. There are so many features and I really like the side accesibity. Peak design products are in the pricey end, but definitely proven with quality.

I get that this is not a backpack built for hiking specifically. However, Peak Design should consider certain aspects that hiking backpacks come with to add to the value of the pack. A hip belt would be nice, since it helps with weight dispersement. The side access is a nice feature that allows for quick access to your gear, but if you are using a water bottle and tripod it limits accessibility a good bit. A traditional “brain” or even a detachable one would be better than the current clasp design for the lid and would supply a larger space for storing miscellaneous items.
3 months of heavy use review. In my honest opinion; not truly worth the price FOR a camera backpack. I don’t see it as a true camera backpack, yes it can be used as such though. My main complaint is the backpack doesn’t really have space or enough internal pockets while being the bigger liter sized bag. They are internal side pockets that can’t really hold much. My camera, camera batteries, camera battery charger, my three filters, iPad & adapter/dock, camera cleaning supplies, etc. Just do not fit very easy or efficiently, even my laptop has trouble fitting and stressed the corners of the laptop/tablet zipper compartment! I wouldn’t really recommend this as a camera backpack, maybe a touring backpack with a point & shoot camera and clothes, the hide able straps ... I wouldn’t really recommend this as a camera backpack, maybe a touring backpack with a point & shoot camera and clothes, the hide able straps are very nice and can easy hold a tripod, even in the external side pockets could hold mine as well as a big yeti flask/thermos.For reference each side(internal) has two pockets; one zipper & one magnetic. One magnetic at the top opening of the bag that is the smallest one of them all. Maybe some cash, cards or USB drive size.Honestly I had high hopes for this bag, but maybe I’ll look into the camera cubes sold by Peak Design to see if they pair well within this backpack for camera storage.
Is one of the most sturdy, well padded and with plenty of room camera bags i have ever got, majority of my bags are leather ONA. But for travel this one is perfect. Has plenty of room, the quality of the materials are top notch, i higly recommend this bag. You can fit A LOT of gear.
It was entirely worth it. Fits under airplane seats, has dividers for all my equipment, holds two laptops and a mini keyboard. Lots of magnets and small touches that really make it polished and useful. 10/10 would spend again.
As most probably know. This is the Everyday, and camera bag standard. Really can't do better. User configurable, and keeps me to a carryon for most, even out of country, trips. Not even that pricey for what you get, compared to other everyday packs.
I've been eyeing various backpacks for past few years. I was able to use rewards and birthday coupon to give me a tipping point. My dilemma became 20L vs 30L. I'm grateful for choosing 30L because it fits me great (shorter guy) but most importantly - it had enough room for my stuff inside. I use during work week to carry snacks, 26 oz Yeti Rambler (inside w flaps up), either 13" Macbook or my iPad, some papers and small stuff. I use every weekend to carry GoPro, tripod, and sometimes my DLSR camera w short lens.I love that it's versatile but professional looking without screaming photo backpack. Pricing is justified because of high quality material, zippers, connectors and design. There's cool magnets everywhere that help. Carry-on pass through design came in ... Just a well thought out product.
I’ve gone through a lot of camera bags and I’d say so far this is my favorite. I can fit everything I need for a days shoot and then some. I also tested the waterproof capabilities of this backpack as we left an event when it was down pouring and all my equipment stayed dry and the bag wasn’t soggy.
