I've been a long time user of Peak Design accessories, and while I have not had a chance to use this, yet... I am completely confident that it will work without any issues.
I bought this to mount an Insta360 X2 while wandering Disneyland, so I can't say much for the "action camera" usage (distance walking is the most extreme sport at the park). it did absolutely great in my backpack strap mounted peak capture. Not for nothing, but the square base meant I could mount the camera in different orientations like vertical "pirate parrot" mode to capture the most of out of my 360 cam, horizontal across my cheats so it was less intrusive to my FOV, and vertically down, which is how I stowed it when I wasn't shooting.The screw stabilizer defintely made all the difference but would sometimes screw itself down, meaning if I needed to quick remove the plate, I found myself stumbling a bit to first I screw it.All in all, I'm very happy with ...
