Overall the Peak Design Slide v3 is extremely well built and finished product, with the unboxing experience similar to Apple products. The material of the product indeed resembles and feels similar to car seatbelts, but it's much smoother.+ The "slick" side of the sling slides almost frictionlessly and you don't need to worry about burning your neck if you're wearing t-shirt etc. unlike with the older versions. I haven really used the "grippy" side, so I don't have much to say about it. Seems to hold the Slide surprisingly well still when walking.+ The Peak Design anchors are still as amazing as ever, and I'm not worried at all that they wouldn't hold up to the 90kg as advertised.+ Quick and one handed length adjustments are amazing! I can make the Slide shorter at the same time when I pull the camera up to give one more point of support. Simply brilliant!+ Everything seams sturdy and extremely well build, and you get lifelong warranty. I can trust this leash.- The only negative thing about this design that I've been able to come up till now is, that when you detach the Slide from the anchors/camera, nothing keeps it from falling off your shoulders. And quite honestly it drove me crazy. Some model of the Leash had the small hole in the other end where you could put the other anchor so, that the Leash turned to a sling style camera leash. I wonder why something similar isn't used in this product. I ended up solving this problem by purchasing the capture clip and of course other hack solutions are easy to develop but still it feels like a stupid oversight by the Peak Design.Overall the Slide v3 is almost perfect, and everything else would deserve five stars, but because of the detaching problem I'm going to take one away from the overall grading. So four stars it is!

There's no doubt about it, it's a huge strap. But, when dealing with larger camera setups you need that size, so I can't really complain. It is a bit tricky to leave on the camera and have folded up at the same time. Other than the hex key being needed to install and uninstall the tripod anchor mount, I have nothing bad to say about this, and even then that's a very minor want for me. Well done, I would 100% recommend this to anyone that is considering buying it!

Not only is it now going to be more comfortable going forward, but I also had no reservations that the strap would handle the weight due to its strength and design. And it will be easier to switch from handheld to the tripod mounted gimbal by removing rather than draping or hanging the old strap. That large majority that highly recommended this strap now includes one more happy participant.

Never going back
27 July 2022

I have always used an around the neck strap and carried my camera in the front. I recently was going to be shooting two long days with camera, battery grip, and long lens. In short, heavy. A friend recommended this strap to me. It can be worn around your neck (as I have been doing), over one shoulder, or crossbody. The strap can connect to the camera via the usual two lugs, or via one lug and the tripod socket,, which was the method I used. Wore it crossbody. No more weight around my neck. The crossbody strap worked perfectly. Peak Design includes an extra connector to your camera and an Allen wrench to tighten the tripod plate. Short Version: Very nice supple strap and well worth the price tag as it comes with a lifetime, zero-hassle warranty.Long Version: I purchased this for my sony a6600 while I was out on vacation in California/Oregon/Washington State and it's been wonderful. Previously I used the peak design leash strap which is substantially thinner and henceforth digs into your neck. I found myself constantly not using the strap at all: resorting to the more barbaric single-handed no-strap method which was fine until I came very... very close to dropping my hard earned piece of magnesium bodied goodness off the side of a building. You may think this strap is too big for the smaller mirrorless crop sensor lineup, but you'd be mistaken. The width and added neck support offer all day comfort by distributing your camera's weight over a larger surface area. That means the strap doesn't dig in and you're less likely to tuck away your camera because you won't notice any discomfort.Adjustability? Uh, yes! This is the easiest most reliably adjustable strap I've ever seen/used. Flip the metal tab and slide to the length you desire, flip the tab again to lock it in place. Boom, just like that. The End.Now to the price. I've seen reviews complaining that this is too expensive. Sure, in some regards it is, but I have an analogy for you. Imagine your camera is a very good rock climber. Now lets say instead of buying quality and durability prooven rope from an outdoors store, you buy a generic tweed rope at a quarter of the price. That rope if you haven't yet guessed is your strap. Are you going to trust a fall with a tweed rope and hope it holds, or get something that is specificlly built even over engineered to excel at what it's specifically made for? The choice is clear. And not to mention, you get a lifetime warranty with this peak design strap. In my own experience, Peak Design gives you zero trouble in making a claim and - for me at least - this is worth the price of admission. Now the question is, will you put your trust in a tweed rope and deal with it's discomfort and possible failure? Or will you get something that's been tried and tested by thousands around the world and backed by a company that believes in it's products enough to offer lifetime warranties? Again, the choice is clear. Now get out of here and go take some pictures, gosh!

Really good
24 September 2022

I mean, it's a strap, what's there to write about, right? Plenty, in fact. I know Peak Design makes to shelf gear, but this strap is better than I expected even at the price. Properly engineered, aesthetically designed, flawlessly constructed. It also *feels* good; the way the material moves is noticeably nice, the edges are good, it has the right heft, it's thick enough. The slide locks are improved over the ones on my older one (still in use). My only question is why the excellent anti-slip part is on the opposite side relative to the way the (very cool) adjuster hardware is oriented from how I'd expect it. There's probably a good reason, I just can't think of it, and I didn't read the manual. It's just a strap, right?

So easy to carry
1 June 2022

I've had all kinds of straps over the years...small narrow ones, much larger wide ones and all were of the ilk that there wasn't much you could do to keep the strap from interfering with the camera at the point where it mounted. THIS STRAP eliminates that. ALSO, older straps (for me) did not have a quick release method to simply have the camera in your hands...it took forever to thread the end of a strap onto the links for mounting it and you likely never took them off. ALL that is off the table now. ALSO, whatever your style for holding the camera and carrying it is instantly changeable now with the very quick, but secure strap length adjustment clamps. The hex-wrench stored in my RRS L-bracket fits it fine in case I want to use a tripod.Really a great purchase for photographers who feel as if their cameras are extensions of themselves, and who need something versatile, comfortable, and easy to use.

This Camera Strap is Simply Awesome!

Have I said that this Camera Strap is simply awesome yet? Hmmm... Well, trust me on this one, this Camera Strap is simply awesome! From the time that I installed the triple-layered Red/Black Anchor Connectors on my heavy camera setup, I knew that I had a winner. Notice that I said TRIPLE-LAYERED. Each connection to the camera's lugs are triple-layered cable rated at 200+ pounds / 90+ kilograms breaking-force. I hesitate to call it thin rope because it feels much more durable and it must be based on the breaking-force rating. The reason for being triple-layered is to alert you when to change the Anchor Connector. Should the cable become frayed, its color will change from the black outside sheath to the orange middle sheath and finally to the remaining red line. Pick which way that you want to wear the strap! And finally, the adjustment buckles are simple to adjust either way; longer or shorter. Overall, this is one awesome Camera Strap! Have I said that before? LOL! It really is and it will be hard to beat the quality of this strap. Oh yes, it comes with a LIFETIME guarantee. Top that!

Your Strap Can Have a Serial Number
17 August 2022

I put the strap on my D800 yesterday and am pleased with it. The most it is, though is a quality basic strap. Now that I have it the connectors are kind of gimmicky. The claim that it can somehow be used with most tripod mounting plates seems to me to be an exaggeration. The packaging is a pain to open resulting in the instructions which are on the pkg being in pieces all over the table. Scan the link on the tags included and you will discover that your new strap has a serial number woo hoo.
