This is the exact combination of backpack/duffel that I was looking for. It give you the capacity of a duffel, with just the right level of backpack convenience/comfort features (Hip belt, good straps). The construction quality is excellent, and for what it's worth, its a nice looking, unassuming back that doesn't scream "I'm backpacking on my gap year and might go on a hike later!" I have long been a packing cube evangelist, so consider that my review is based on using this bag with packing cubes for internal organization.Just used this bag for a 2 week trip in the smaller/unexpanded mode and it fit easily as a carry-on on a US domestic airline.

I recently purchased this bag for an 18 day trip to Europe. Not necessarily a full-fledged backpacking trip but I wanted a bag that was hands-free to navigate crowded airports, train stations, walks to hotels, etc. For this purpose the PD duffelpack is perfection. I used with PD packing cubes - it will fit (2) mediums, (2) smalls, (1) shoe pouch and (1) wash pouch. All of of my stuff was organized and wrinkle free. The hideaway backpack straps are also really great. Fantastic bag.

I wish I could review this product; however, I have not received this product yet. It has been over a month now since I ordered it. I love Altitude Sports; however, I'm not sure what's happening with my order...
The only things I didn’t like was the fact that the whole harness straps can’t be locked away so nothing of it is showing.Also the fact there is no shoulder strap.Apart from that I think the duffel pack is great just what I needed.The quality is fantastic.
One of the better duffels out there. Quality and durability are second to none. Side pockets organization is awesome. Great gym/weekend travel bag. Handle magnets are kind of weak and the backpack mode leaves much to be desired though.
I've had several Peak Design bags and they never fail to exceed my expectations. The quality is high, the thoughtful touches like various pouches and pockets make it incredibly versatile. The only downside is the hand grip which is no comfortable in the least. I'd say this is a bad that is great, so long as you don't have to hold onto it. The shoulder strap on the other hand isn't bad at all.
I use my duffels to keep my bad weather gear and tools in while out in the field. My bag stays outside in the elements all day. And so far I think this bag will be the best that I have had. 65L is the perfect size for me. The detachable handles scared me a little bit until I got my hands on it and found out how hard they are to take off which was a comfort to me. I have yet to give the weatherproofing a good test, but the material seems very good.
Picked this up for a recent 1 week trip to Singapore after an equipment failure for my onboard wheeled case. Easily able to fit in everything I needed with compression packs including a spare pair of shoes. Was even able to take as onboard luggage (no guarantees). Comfortable, stowable shoulder straps and plenty of hand hold options to carry.

Each feature of this bag is well designed and gives the user plenty of options for pockets on packing smaller items inside and medium sized objects on the exterior pockets. The inside is very wide and opens up very big for easy access of your clothes and things. Overall construction is robust and the stitching seems to be very strong from what I can tell. I like the over shoulder strap due to its large cushion and comfortability. The backpack feature is okay, in a pinch and your arms get tired or need to distribute the weight it will work. Not the most comfortable that way but it’s not supposed to be a backpack so keep that in mind. If you’re looking for a backpack then find ...
