I've had this pen for about two weeks now. I love writing with it! The other fountain pens I own are Kawecos, and a Sheaffer I bought a million years ago (I was in high school!) This Pelikan is the most comfortable, I think. The material feels durable and pleasing to touch, and it's nice and light I can write for a long time without getting tired holding it (not all my pens have this quality). I got the fine nib, and it's a little bit thicker than I would have preferred, but that's not a big deal. I really like the color of the pen. It's more of an emerald green than how the product shot looks on my monitor. Overall, really happy with it!

This was the first time I’ve purchased an m205 gift set with pen and ink. Given the price was cheaper than the pen alone, how could I say no? The packaging is very luxury feeling and well designed. What’s inside is exactly what you’d expect from Pelikan in a gorgeous m205 that writes perfectly right out of the box.I inked it up with the included ink and the moment the broad nib hit the page I knew it was a Pelikan. These nibs, while steel, are my favorite steel nibs, with Leonardo and Diplomat closely behind.

I can hardly believe my good fortune in finding this deal. Other perfectly reputable online vendors have the price of the pen alone at one hundred dollars more than Pen Boutique. Same pen. And there's really no point in having the uniquely colored pen without the matching ink. I collect Pelikans, and Edelstein ink. But this is my first steel nibbed 200 series Pelikan, and my first Pelikan demonstrator, but I find the writing experience essentially the same as my gold nibbed models (more advanced users might feel otherwise). It has the same piston filler system, which I prefer; and it's really beautiful. I followed up this purchase with another 200, the bronze and copper model. And spent a good deal more (I just liked the pen), with no matching ink. The Souveran ... MoreI can hardly believe my good fortune in finding this deal. Very dissimilar to the TWSBI Eco in my shirt pocket today. I have a purposefully wide variety of pens, but these Pelikans are my favorite. If you can still get the spectacular deal at Pen Boutique, I say jump on it. If you can't, it's worth full price.

I haven't been as enamoured of a pen and ink combination in a while. I'm sure glad I dropped the dime and got this combination for this absolutely great price! The inking was super easy with the filling mechanism easy to hold, and the ink bottle being wide open. This is super important to me as I have no feeling in my hands and very limited feeling in my fingers, so fiddly small things don't work well for me.The biggest thing though, that brings me much joy, are the colours. This teal green jewel tone is one of my absolute favourites, the matching pen body and ink is just amazing.I did get the extra fine nib, so I'm not seeing the sheening of the ink really at all. I may put the ink in one of my stub nib pens, though, because it it so beautiful.Thank you ... MoreI haven't been as enamoured of a pen and ink combination in a while. I’ve always wanted to try a Pelikan fountain pen. Ink reviews frequently use them (albeit w/ gold nibs and 400 series and up) and pen reviews love them. I love wet writers and the reviews pointed me in this direction. When Pen Boutique made the special offering of the Apatite M205 and matching Edelstein ink at a really wonderful price, I grabbed it! My order arrived quickly in just a few days. My M205 with B nib is fun to use and wrote smoothly from the first fill. It’s a smooth writer with just a wee bit of feedback. There haven't been any hard starts. Edelstein Apatite ink and the Pelikan M205 are a joyful combo! thank you, Pen Chalet!
If you like the classic Pelikan M20x models, and especially the translucent „Ink of the Year“ special editions, this pen and ink, in a lovely turquoise color, will not disappoint. If you are not familiar with the Pelikan M20x line of fountain pens, they are lovely medium-sized piston fillers with a lovely posted balance, and they only weigh about 14 or 15 grams. Combined with a somewhat boring but generally quite wet and pleasant nib, this pen is outstanding for extended writing sessions and general every day driving. What was awesome about this particular purchase was the special price! $130 for an M200, including a bottle of matching premium Pelikan Edelstein ink. Typically in the US, a Pelikan M20x pen will set you back in the neighborhood of $200, and a 50ml ... MoreIf you like the classic Pelikan M20x models, and especially the translucent „Ink of the Year“ special editions, this pen and ink, in a lovely turquoise color, will not disappoint. If you are not familiar with the Pelikan M20x line of fountain pens, they are lovely medium-sized piston fillers with a lovely posted balance, and they only weigh about 14 or 15 grams. Yes, you have to like turquoise, but this is a really good price. At this price, I recommend this set unconditionally.
I've been watching this gift set for quite a while. So glad I finally bought it. Pen Boutique had a price too good to pass by. As usual, service was wonderful! As to the pen set: GREAT! The pen writes so smoothly on all different types of paper. I got the extra fine nib, and it's just what I wanted..not scratchy at all. The ink is also a terrific extra bonus. It's not too wet, and has a quick drying time. It's a beautiful shade that matches the pen color really well. The only minor negative: the pen is a little small and light. It does post well which makes it more comfortable for me.
I did not clean the pen as thoroughly as I should have before I started using it. As a result, it was skipping a lot and the flow is bad. Once I did that it's been pretty much perfect. The steel nib is bouncy and gives a bit of variation -- though not a flex writer. The ink capacity on these pens is also pretty good. Downsides: it is fairly small in the hand, compared to others you could get for the same price or less. You could be forgiven for expecting a gold nib north of $200. And that's a valid critique. And honestly, I think these are a little overpriced as as the case with everything from Pelikan. Pink is my thing. So I knew I had to have this. If it were another color I wouldn't have got it.
I admittedly am a Pelikan fanatic so me liking this version of the m205 isn’t a surprise. As with all m205s, the nib is phenomenal for a steel nib. The broad Medium is smooth and juicy! The special edition marbling is wonderful to look at as well. Not quite my Ocean Swirl level of beauty but close! Inked with Pilot Ku-jaku it is a wonderful addition to my collection (days later added the Apatite ).
Being an engineer and a pen nerd I always wanted a 205. When yall put this on a weekend sale I couldn't resist. i kept going back and forth on the nib size the ordered a Medium. The next day i was confused so I called customer service and the nice lady told me that the pen writes a bit wet. Se changed my order to a Fine and a few days later it arrived. And she was right. I inked it up with Pelikan 4001 pink ( it matched the stationary) and wrote notes to my moms great granddaughters for her. Yall will be my go to as the customer service cant be beat.
