The name 'Souverän' came to live in the 1980's, meaning 'Sovereign'. Still, many people refer the classic stripe design to the German Foreign Minister 'Stresemann', often wearing the striped uniforms. The material of the Souverän pens is high-grade resin, which ensures that the pen keeps its bright coulour and that it remains unscratched. The fountain pen features an excellent piston filling system, a technology that was first introduced by Pelikan in 1929. The pen is finsihed with a handcrafted 18 carat gold nib with rhodium accents.
