Pen Drawing Uni Pin 200 Fine Line 0.7mm Black Bx12

The Uni Pin Drawing Pen is a fineliner for artists and designers available in sizes from 0.05mm to 0.8mm. These pens are particularly useful for artists who wish to add watercolour washes to their sketches and technical drawings, as the ink is waterproof once dry. Because these pens use a lightfast black ink, artworks created with them will not deteriorate under normal display conditions. This is a 0.7mm fine-liner.

I ordered 3 different thicknesses of nib - this review covers them all. It's sold as a drawing pen, but I've been using them mainly for figure work and writing. It gives a smooth writing experience, and feels quite like a fountain pen in terms of ink flow. If it lasts as long as a gel pen before running out (too early to tell yet) I may well make this my go-to pen. Range of nib sizes allows artists plenty of choice, but it's also helpful for the mere pen-pusher like me.

It is sooo thin! Fun to use for smaller details in art.I am not usually a fan of fineliners, but I found this one to be right up my ally! The black is not as bold compared to other brands, but for me it is the right color I needed. You do have to be careful with smaller tips when drawing to not break or deform it, but I found these a little more durable compared to other pens. Also fine the window on the cap pretty neat

Affordability that doesn't bleed. Recommended Pigment Fineliner.

So I grew up using artline fineliners and honestly never thought I'd use another fineliner until I started bullet journaling. The standard artline fineliner doesn't tend to mix well when especially when adding a touch of watercolour. Since I've tried a few pigment fineliners (from cheap $1 ones to ones that cost $10 each) but the two I keep coming back to are these and Sakura brand fineliners. The barrel design of the uniball pigma micron reminds me a lot of the Sakura Pigma Micron, which are so far my favourite I've tried in the pigment fineliner range. Its performance does as well and because the cost is slightly less than Sakura you gotta give it full marks for being a well balanced, affordable fineliner. It is resistant to water which is great if like me and ... MoreSo I grew up using artline fineliners and honestly never thought I'd use another fineliner until I started bullet journaling. And of course it is pigment ink so it is fade resistant.I must add that I like the caps on these pens as they are slightly longer (again like Sakura pigmas) so you are likely not to knock the nib when recapping.

Dark and waterproof
2 May 2024

I bought these because I was using Faber Castell's and wanted something darker, more BLACK. I heard a lot of positive things about these and decided to give them a try and I am glad that I did! They are smooth, very black and waterproof. They have been perfect for the art that I do. I can't speak to their longevity yet, but, for now, they have been fantastic and I would highly recommend them.

Doesn't wright on plastic
14 November 2023

This pen doesn't write on plastic, it must be a water based ink.I needed it to wright on Test Tags.It has almost the exact same name as the oil based version.I think the oil based version has an "A" at the end.OfficeWorks doesn't appear to stock the oil based version.

this is SO SO SMALL you can fit a ton of doodles on a 5"x5" sticky note pad, great for on the go! Of course you can use it for detailing. Unless you're working microscopic, this will be perfect for the job.I was skeptical that this diameter was even possible, and I haven't measured the line weight, but it creates a really nice thin line.I think it's better than a Pigma Micron; I like the way it glides across the paper. The barrel feels a tad plasticky, and might be kinda slippery feeling, but I honestly don't mind because it's so small and that's what I want.

My new pens
29 November 2023

I ordered my new pens to try them out. They said they dried quickly oh, which they do. I always am putting my arm in the ink and smudging it everywhere and have to start over. I love the different sizes for my different types of work. They work out perfectly. I’m so glad, that art snacks has them. Thank you so much Art snacks.

Switched from Sakura Micron
30 July 2023

I started with Prismacolor and Staedtler when I leaned about microns. Then dedicated to Sakura micron and now was introduced to Unipin. I love how smooth and dark they are in comparison (Copic multi-liner is its competitor imo). They do seem slightly more delicate vs Sakura so treat them accordingly. They dry great for water-based artwork and I find their smaller nibs to perform better than others (so far). Don't be shy to pick up some individual pens. Especially during sales.

Top-Notch Drawing Pen
8 August 2024

I've been buying uni-ball pens for literally decades now, because they simply can't be beaten. While the drawing pens are traditional fineliners (rather than the ball and ink style pen uni-ball are famous for) they are a joy to use, surpassing the likes of Staedtler, Zebra, etc in terms of flow, control, consistency of line and ease of use. They're great, reasonably priced and I highly recommend them.

Was good while it lasted

Bought this black fine line pen individually (loose) alongside two other black fineliners of the same brand with different nib sizes. It worked fine initially, no issues. Not sure if the tip had already dried up slightly prior to testing out and purchasing the product as I didn't get much use out of it before the ink started to dry out and become faded. The tip was slightly bent too upon purchase. These pens are more prone to damage when handled by potential customers when sold loosely. It's an advantage to test them out first especially if you don't know before hand what thickness of line you want. I should have inspected the pen more closely before buying it. I'm that familiar with this brand and the pens been sold loosely I was anticipating this scenario before ... MoreBought this black fine line pen individually (loose) alongside two other black fineliners of the same brand with different nib sizes.
