Pendleton National Park Blanket Olympic / Full

In the early 1900s, Pendleton Woolen Mills honored America's national parks with a collection of blankets representing each of them. The colors on this cover pay homage to Washington State's Olympic National Park. This unique region is famous for its diverse ecosystems - from rugged coastlines and dense old-growth forests to glacier-clad alpine peaks and lush rainforests. The history of the brand and its historic colors goes back to the days of border posts: Depending on their weight, blankets were exchanged for furs, and their value was indicated by the number of black stripes incorporated into their manufacture. Pendleton has adapted the colors and variations of the original striped theme, taking into account the distinctive features of each park. National Park blankets have been woven in Pendleton mills in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 100 years. 100% pure new wool. Dry clean only. Made in the USA.

Being from Washington, I ordered the Olympic National park blanket and I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s beautiful and soft and thick. I own a couple of the travel Pendleton’s and this exceeds them in softness. My cats love it, it’s living on the couch at the moment and looks great, but now that the weather is starting to cool down it’ll probably transition over to the bed soon. The colors are rich and true to the photo. Highly recommend getting one of these if you are interested and can fit it in the budget. Definitely worth the splurge, looking at maybe getting another at some point.

Best blanket I've ever had!!

I was a little hesitant to spend so much on a blanket at first.. but considering REI's return policy and their keen eye for good products, I went for it...This is the single best blanket I've ever had! It's a little scratchy at first (duh, it's 100% wool) but after a few hours under it, I felt right at home. It’s queen sized so it’s big enough for a big bed or to curl up under on a couch. It’s warm and feels substantial in weight without being restrictive or unbreathable. I could see it finding a great use anywhere from a cabin to a couch to an RV to a park!

Excellent 3-season blanket for home

We've had two National Park blankets over the last 10 years, we use them as bedspreads as we find them so pretty and versatile. I overheat with down blankets, but these wool blankets keeps my wife and I warm in the NW, from October - late May. We're just now retiring our favorite Yellowstone blanket as it's got a couple holes in it (which I blame on moths), it will be an awesome tent/bonfire blanket now. I would recommend these blankets to anyone who wants a durable but refined blanket that you'll look forward to using at home, trailer, or even tent.

In this life, you often get what you pay for. Pendleton blankets are some of the best blankets you buy. You pay a bit more in the beginning but we have come to love the ones we have. Soft, warm, and the definition of cozy. My wife has a queen size one and wraps up in it when she is catching up on some favorite guilty pleasure shows.

Great blanket at a great price

I shopped around for this iconic blanket as a gift for my boss . It was perfect . I paired it with a cheap wine and made my gift a joke . My boss enjoys quality wine . But I plan to gift him with the cheap stuff and top it off with a quality blanket .

Great blanket that 100% meets my expectations

I really love this blanket. The construction is top-notch - the the decoration on the blanket is beautifully done. Colors are gorgeous and consistent throughout the fabric. It's not a scratchy blanket in my opinion (like some wool can be). I have a bit of a weird personal aversion to fabrics that are too slick/soft (e.g. most light-weight sleeping bags), and this fabric suits me perfectly to have directly against my skin. I have yet to use this for anything related to outdoors - I have it on my bed and use it every night when sleeping. This is my first Pendleton product, and while not a cheap item, the price matches the quality in my opinion

Great classic blanket! Love it!

The Glacier design is such a classic one, it seems to fit in any decor / room you move it too. Well made, good medium weight, which I much prefer to the heavy weight wool blankets because the mid weight is more versatile- can be used year round and layered with more blankets when very cold — which is how I am using it on the photo. Can also be used as a camping/outdoor blanket because of its versatile weight. rather soft for a virgin wool blanket and most importantly, it does not shed at all. I have the full size one and was concerned it would be too big / bulky to be versatile, but turns out it is just perfect for most occasions due to it being a light/medium weight blanket. If you are looking for a single warm blanket to use on its own during the cold months, this ... MoreThe Glacier design is such a classic one, it seems to fit in any decor / room you move it too. After several years of dealing a with short, cotton quilt blanket, I remembered that Moosejaw may carry the Pendleton brand. I remembered the historic stories of these blankets being traded to Native Americans for goods, and that the peoples cherished them and passed them down over generations.I got the Grand Canyon series blanket to honor my home state, and after months of use it is everything I wanted: comfort, no-itch, substantial weight, beautiful color. It is well worth the purchase.

Love these blankets!
9 December 2022

I purchased a Pendleton National Park Blanket for my wife. Over the years, she has acquired several different colors (with a matching mug) and enjoys them tremendously. The material is a perfect weight and the craftsmanship is unmatched. She likes to change out beds in the house with the different colors.Shipping from Moosejaw was fast and the price was great.

I have been looking at this for a while and finally decided to purchase it! Best choice ever! The colors are vibrant, the feel is soft and the size is perfect! What I love best as well is the ability to carry easily with the carrier straps.
