I’m not usually a fan of incense or similar spices in a fragrance and have given them away in the past. I expected not to like The World According to Arthur but I was very pleasantly surprised. Yes the cost is prohibitive, which I why I’m glad I was able to test a sample first. This scent is unique and beautiful, warm and slightly sweet without being either too masculine or feminine. It was absolutely beautiful and settles into the skin so well. I will be requesting this fragrance for Christmas or birthday for sure.

It does have a slight musk scent but it is light and never over the top like I have noticed before now. It is made out of quality ingredients, I can tell from the get go of using this. I lingers on slightly after use without making the person next to you nauseated. I have gotten compliments on it so far. I would wear this everyday if I could though, it is for any occasion. Go light or heavy depending on your tastes but I prefer just a slight drop on my wrist for adequate exposure. I highly recommend it! It's addicting to wear and have as a recognizable scent for your own spirit of personalization.

It's more a sweet herbal and not too overpowering. With those two scents together, the best way to describe the scent is like a sweet vanilla with a woodsy/smoky scent. I do find it to be more a feminine scent, but it could work on men as well. The scent lasts a long time on my skin and I enjoy smelling it all day. It's a very pleasant, cozy and warm scent. I feel like it can be worn for any occasion. Overall I am very pleased with this scent and would highly recommend!

The World According to Arthur is my new favorite go-to perfume. It is difficult to describe a scent, but it is classic, classy, comforting, and sexy all in one bottle. I wear this perfume each day to the office, on a casual Saturday at home, and when I’m out with the girls. I frequently receive compliments when wearing this perfume. I love that it lasts all day without reapplying. It is fresh and unique without being overpowering. I’m often very sensitive to scents, perfumes, chemicals, and this is one that I love! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a little variety and adding a new fragrance to their collection. I received Penhaligon’s The World According to Arthur perfume this week. It seems to be a very unisex scent with notes of sage, tonka bean, and ambrette. The scent does last very well. I wasn’t crazy about the scent, as I felt it seemed more masculine than feminine, though depending on your preference could be worn for women. I did like the way the sent smelled after it had been on my skin for awhile, versus just sprayed. It is strong, but not at all floral over overpowering. It did have a musky type undertone, which depending on the other notes in the scent sometimes I do like. Overall, i think it depends on personal preference, but I don’t think it would be a purchase I would invest into.

This is literally one of the best smelling perfumes I have ever smelt.Slight hint of floral but definitely unisex. It feels like I walked into an artsy cocktail lounge. Very light and subtl but stays on for hours with just a little spray. I do not smell a strong nor lingering scent of alcohol. Nice scent, clean and fresh scent. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because after receiving the sample, I wanted to buy a full bottle and it was out of my price range.
I absolutely love this fragrance. I see it as a fresh-faced, sweet-hearted scent that envelops the body in the warm, sweet embrace of incense, spice, and invigorating citrus. Its TOP NOTES would be Pink incense, Vanilla infusion, and Grapefruit. HEART NOTES: Ambrette firabs, Clary, sage absolute. BASE NOTES: Tonka absolute, Incense, Incense vulcain. How I use it is I spritz a light mist of fragrance on pulse points. I do not spray onto clothing as essential oils can cause garment discoloration or stains.

Definitely not a safe blind buy and probably not work-safe either (job dependant, obviously).My overall impression, between the rubbery plastic note and the synthetic smelling sweetness, is of a vanilla flavoured condom (sorry Penhaligon's, ily really!).
