Purchased one of these a few weeks ago, just spent a week at Coral Bay out on a boat with it, it got a fair workout on some big tuna and Cobia amongst other species and performed faultlessly, i had it matched to a $50 Shakespeare reel and could not fault that either, so was very happy with the cheap combo

Great combo the young fella loves it off the jetty and the reel suits his 9 foot salmon rod from the surf
