Bought this reel to replace my 13 year old reel that just didn't work any more. This 6000 reel works great.I put 300 yards of 30# braid line and paired it up with a Penn Squadron III 8 ft. pole. This combo is what I use at the jetties. I am very pleased with the way it performs.
Haven't used it yet but looks great... solid feel and nice smooth action .Love the thick bail arm . Bought this reel on the back of the Penn Applause I have had for years and still going strong. Great reels.Cheers Adrian Heazlewood.
Although I have not yet caught a fish using this reel it certainly has a smooth feel about it, the reel does not have a reverse switch so you can reel it backwards but it still is a very solid reel.
Nice reel, affordable price, exellent service
I bought it to go with a Fenwick HMX 9 foot six medium rod for salmon and steelhead casting has been a great reel so far. Has landed 15 coho so far and a few Atlantic salmon. I live in Michigan where this is possible to get both species of salmon in the same harbor. Reel has a slight wobble when reeling but everything else has been great.
