Great reel, I already had one and purchased another.
Bought this reel to replace my 13 year old reel that just didn't work any more. This 6000 reel works great.I put 300 yards of 30# braid line and paired it up with a Penn Squadron III 8 ft. pole. This combo is what I use at the jetties. I am very pleased with the way it performs.
Really smooth sturdy reel, no complaints after couple weeks actively using it!

Although I have not yet caught a fish using this reel it certainly has a smooth feel about it, the reel does not have a reverse switch so you can reel it backwards but it still is a very solid reel.
I bought it to go with a Fenwick HMX 9 foot six medium rod for salmon and steelhead casting has been a great reel so far. Has landed 15 coho so far and a few Atlantic salmon. I live in Michigan where this is possible to get both species of salmon in the same harbor. Reel has a slight wobble when reeling but everything else has been great.
I had these reels for 6 years already, heavily used, never had a problem, they just keep going and going. As the others breakdown I replace them with Penns
