Check the spinet on the reel it was loose the line got stuck on the spinner that guides on to the spool and I lost a big Jew fish I tightened it and now it’s fine.

Good all rounder, great value for money. The 950 maybe a bit big and heavy for some people. I bought it for catching tailor. Had hours of fun in surf with out worrying about the reel getting wet. They are made for it.
Very disappointing. What was in the photo wasn’t what I got. There was only a rod, with no reel or line. Very misleading.
The rod is advertised as a two piece (I ordered it for this reason because I am traveling). When it arrived it was a one piece so I can't take it on my trip & I have to buy another rod. Also the rod arrived with a broken tip runner (the Insert was missing & not in box anywhere so I can only assume it was sent in that condition. Very poor service I'm afraid, I wont 'be using Freddy's again.
Visiting Oz from upstate New York for most of the summer. I shopped this item well before I traveled to Australia then purchased it at the Victor Harbor store as soon as i could. No regrets at all. It is a great quality combo well suited for all types of surf action. I have used it from Goolwa to Waitpinga thus far with great success. Planning to take it on trips up the Gulf St. Vincent and over to Yorke Peninsula during my summer stay this trip. The action of the rod is very good. I went with Mono rather than braid mainly for cost considerations. I met a few blokes who go for sharks and they use big game setups with much more powerful line and bigger rigs but that's not for me at this time. I will take the reel home and use it in Lake Ontario with downriggers for King Salmon and Steelhead Trout after I return to the USA. The rod stays behind at my girlfriends house until I return next summer. Great value for the price and you can't go wrong with Penn brand name products.
Great combo for the price. Sensitive tip and strong butt on the rod. Smooth no nonsense reel. Would recommend.
Smooth action of this reel went well, although can be tricky to open and cast if in wrong position. Overall i like the action of this reel
Good rod, except for the plastic parts that hood the reel on. It snapped, will require warranty, other then that, great reel and feel for the rod.
