This is a cracking ride. I have a couple of other surf skate setups but had fancied one of these for years. Sadly they were never available, so when they came back onto the site I was determined. I have 3 other Pennys in the same blocky colour way (22", 32", and 36") so this is a welcome addition. I've not had chance to make the most of it yet but my first rides have been pretty much what I expected. At 29" the Penny is much smaller and considerably lighter than my other surf skates which makes it far more nimble. The Waterborne front truck adapter is a quality piece of kit which I had been looking to try.Hopefully I can get it to the pump track soon to try it there. Currently my Penny 36" Longboard is pretty much unbeatable so it will be fun to see how the ... MoreThis is a cracking ride. Wheels are too far forward and not enough nose on the board, board should be a little longer. The shape with the nose tilting down leads to more jackknifing (buckling from over steering throwing you over the front trucks). This is the first board I've ridden that is this unstable. Some modifications and it would be rad.Tight carving board with the waterborne trucks.Immediately changed the bearings and wheels to ones from surfskatelove and made a huge difference. Faster wheels and feels more stable. That said, its a great affordable starter board. Excellent for shorter people or kids to get a feel for surf skating.

I'm genuinely impressed by every component, with only the exception of the stock bushings, they blew up very easily with any "real" weight on them (I test rode them @ 220lbs). But I can't fault it too much, because it's clearly not for a person my size. My Daughter, however, whom of which this was for, had zero issues, other than the waterborne adapter for some reason being extra squeaky. Which was weird, but solved easily enough with a spray of penetrating lithium, as opposed to straight grease. But the toughness, and build quality of this board... Has NO equal outside of very expensive carbon fiber models. It's the absolute perfect board for a younger surf-skate beginner, or someone 5'6 or so. I'm 6' so it should feel squirrely to me, but it's actually more ... I'm 6' so it should feel squirrely to me, but it's actually more ridable than I would have ever expected.Honestly, it makes me want Penny to produce a 32 or 33" board in the exact same proportions!I'd buy that in a heart beat!(I've got plenty of adaptors, and trucks though. If anyone is listening...)

So much fun with this board. It took a little while to get used to the front truck being able to pivot so far, but once I got the hang of it, wow, I’m cruising.I do wish it the board had a wider tail. I wear size 12 men’s shoes and it feels like I can only get a little bit of my shoe on the tail. A little bit more tail and I could pop it down to the ground too . I love that it’s not grip tape that gets sand all over the place. Great waffle design. No slips! Love the all black too. Thanks Penny
Decided to finally try a surfskate since I recently moved away from the coast and was jonesing for that riding on glass feeling! This board is definitely an awesome ride! I don't have the experience to provide an accurate comparison against other surfskates, but I love it. I'm a happy man between either riding this or my Onewheel!
That’s my second board from Penny (the first one is a classic plastic board I bought somewhere in 2011 while on holiday in Perth, still rides perfectly). I enjoy my penny surfskate. But I suggest you to make a ‘31 or ‘33 surfskate for a more comfort riding for taller people like me. Thanks for fun and positive emotions! Component quality is 4 because right from the box the back wheels were to tight, I had to adjust them for a better spin, but that’s not a big problem.
Just recently ordered this board; and was a little skeptical due to the size of the board /me as a rider. After readings some reviews as a 6 foot plus rider, was a bit worried. After first ride, which was about 4 miles round-trip from home, super stoked(and writing this)!Legs are tired and after that, really got the hang of it. Thank you Penny board!
Super fun and fast . Even though the wheels are smaller you’re still able to get over small debris easily if you see it because of the flex and back tail . Where you knee pads :) because this board will make you push yourself . Already got few pals to get matching ones. You can really cruise on these easily and turn faster in congested areas avoid cars and people
It‘s perfect fit for Surfing through the streets with my Girls.Realy fair Price and good Shape compared to to my Carver and cyborg oldschool Deck with Independent Trucks and Waterborn Adapter inkl. DIN.Good product for getting in the dirfskate Game. 🤙
My boyfriend, a skater since early childhood, pushed it correctly at once and on his second try already made narrow turns in a skate park. Me, a beginner, I still have to practice. To learn the pushing seems easier on the penny, but I feel more secure on turns with a yow board. My boyfriend is already trying out different pushing styles in order to teach me the easiest one which stresses the feet less.by the way: great clean design and i love the shape of the deck: really good foot feeling/ grip. in addition, it is lighter than other surf skates and easy to carry.
