Anne Elliot is good and kind - a true Austen heroine - but her main fault seems to have been taking advice on refusing a sensible and loving man's offer of marriage because he didn't have money or prospects at the time. So one of Austen's favourite themes returns in this smoothly written book. Set amidst the classy and superficial of Bath, and the carefree holidaymakers of Lyme Regis, we have accidental meetings, seemingly honest men with deceit hiding not far below the surface, recurring meetings with those one wishes to avoid - and the inevitable love which triumphs in the end. The characters are well painted but not as memorable or as much a part of our family as those of Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. A good read.

My favorite Jane Austen by far. There’s just something so beautiful but realistic about this one that I haven’t felt quite as much with any of her other works. The characters are lovable and the love letter in this book is one I go back to reread time and time again because it is just simply heart wrenching in the best way. Also this edition is gorgeous!

This is probably the most beautiful book I own. Persuasion is my second favorite Austen novel and I'm so pleased to finally own the copy I wanted most! Thank you so much. It was so carefully packaged so that it couldn't be damaged. I appreciate that s much. It came in perfect condition.
As an avid reader I bought this book as well as others in the penguin classic series with stunning cloth hard covers as a birthday gift for my daughter. She was absolutely delighted!
So we all love Pride and Prejudice, but Persuassion is my personal favourite. Perhaps it is heroine Anne Elliot's reasoning and level-headedness that I admire most.
I love the cover art for this edition. I bought all of Jane Austen's works with this same style and they look really good on my shelf. They are a nice size and are easy to read.
The book is so cute with a light pink cover and lavender edges. It is well made and cohesive with my other Jane Austen flexibound books.
