Use regularly to prevent mites and bugs affecting poultry. Keeping coop clean is first priority. We have free range birds and they can pick up bugs, ticks, mites so this product is a valuable backup to garlic mash etc. We dust coop bedding straw when birds go out in morning and have had no adverse effects in 8 years and no long term mites. We haven't used it when there are baby chicks so suggest withholding at that time.

Couldn't see any mites on my chooks, but the lack of feathers was a giveaway. 2 days after a jolly good dousing in Pestene, feathers are growing back and my girls seem much more relaxed.

I recently had 2 broody hens infected with lice (because they sat on the eggs in this humid weather). I used Pestene powder to sprinkle on them and in the brooding area after I cleaned out the nesting material. I repeated cleaning the broody area after a week and sprinkled more Pestene. It completely got rid of all the lice - on the hens (did need to repeat treatment on hens) as well as the brooding area. Excellent product and easy to use.

Very happy as are my chooks... great product, a bit pricey but does the job
I use this product because it is very effective at getting rid of the lice when I notice my girls are starting to dust bath a lot more than usual. Even when I use a mask it still affects my breathing and I feel short of breath after using it. I also believe it is a fairly expensive product for the amount you get, so I try and use it sparingly to make it last longer. I would recommend this to others but only if they can't find a cheaper alternative.

Prestene is a great product when your having problems with lice/ mites in chickens. Easy to dust chooks and the house as well.
I had used this product in the past. Works well, keeping my chicken yard and nesting boxes free of pests.
I wouldn't recommend this product for cats or dogs. Try a more natural and non-toxic product like diatomaceous earth.
Our chickens have had mites for weeks. Pestene killed them. Highly recommend.
