I bought this after undergoing complicated surgery that left me unable to clean my cat's regular litter box. I live in a small apartment with one pretty big cat, and the Pura Max has been a lifesaver. Delivery was super prompt and friendly, and the driver very kindly brought the unit all the way into my bathroom when i explained that i couldn't life heavy objects. Pros: only need to change the litter once a week, the app tracks my cat's weight and habits, I'm using way less litter with this unit, and things are generally tidy. Cons: the unit wasn't cheap, it's quite bulky, so space can be a bit of an issue, and the app can be temperamental. I have two 6-month old cats who wherr used to 3 litter boxes. One cat took to using just one Pura Max straight away . The other cat used it happily for a week and then went on strike! I brought back the old box, but then the other cat started using the old box as well. Which was annoying! Also. The difficult cat is the kind of cat the wees in one box and poops in the other! I tried stopping the auto clean, and the deodorizer, but nothing worked. Once I got a second pura max, they both happily use both boxes each day. No issues. We have been using the Petkit Pura Max for about a month now. We had a hard time getting it to connect to the app when first setting it up, took about an hour, then it kept saying a cat was in the litter box when it wasn’t. We realised we had to move the box away from the wall and also not place the litter tracking mat under the box. Since then it’s been working great and we are really happy with it. Super quiet, app works well, does a good job of scooping the clumps, once litter is scooped it contains the smell really well. Our cats took to it straight away and love watching it auto clean. Minor problem we are having is one of our cats likes to pee right in the top of one corner where there is less litter, it doesn’t clump so well there and gets stuck sometimes.

I would buy it again. A good product that fulfils its purpose. Quiet in operation, easy to set up. I owned the previous version and there's noticeable better odour control in the Max version. The feet could be better, it's a bit slippery and moving around on the hard floor. Also, cleaning could be easier. Supply is limited, so you'll have a hard time finding stock.
The Pura Max Automated Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box is great. My first self cleaning litter box is a Litter-Robot. The litter-robot is noisy compared to the Pura Max. I have it near our bedroom and you would not know that it is going through a cycle. It is quite and you would not know that the cats have been to the toilet. It was a bit of a problem first off. The Pura Max would stop have way through a cycle and say the their is a cat inside of it. I read some forums and one person said to change the weight of your cat on the app. My small cat is only about 2.5 kg so on the app i put him down as 4.5 kg and it works with out a problem. I don’t worry about it now until it is time to empty it.

It took a while for one of my kitties to be OK with it because he freaked out the first time the deodoriser went on. For the scaredy cats, I suggest to turn any smart functions off when you set the machine up, until they’re 100% ok with using the machine. The interior is big enough for my 6kg kitten to turn around and do his business. I never had the Pura X so I can’t compare if this is a better product, however I do find the design for the Max to be bulky (at least with the Pura X, it looks like you can use the top like a table). This was a big splurge but it has made my kitty litter situation sooo much easier and cleaner. I’m in a small apartment so I find the machine is quite large, but the benefits are worth it. I use way less litter, there are no odours, and I made it about 2 weeks before having to empty the bin. My kitten wasn’t super keen on the mat when the machine first arrived but he adapted quickly. He hasn’t had any issues using it and he particularly enjoys watching the Pura Max do a clean cycle. Delivery was fast and really great that Petso allows for payment in instalments with PayPal.
Customisable to your preferences for cycle and litter types, and is highly efficient, quiet and quick. I've had the Petree before and the Pura Max didn't have me hesitate in throwing the Petree into the garage. It can quickly and efficiently be used for up to 4 cats (I have 2 Pura Max units however for location purposes). It can be cumbersome, but if you have a bathtub, it is easy to clean. I have 4 large ragdolls and they fit inside perfectly fine. I just need a backdrop of outer space or some planets/stars to fit the theme/design of the auto-litter :)
I did a lot of research before purchasing this model, and it’s good, but there are a couple of things that could be better. The app is okay, but not the most user friendly. I actually had to read some instructions which usually isn’t necessary. Occasionally I get a whiff of cat faeces, so the sealed container isn’t quite that sealed. Also, the odour removal fragrance spray has a pretty strong scent, and it’s not pleasant. I do appreciate that I don’t have to clean the litter box as often, and both my cats are happy to share it. We’ve not had any ‘accidents’ or what I believe were intentional wees when the previous litter box hadn’t been cleaned immediately after the last use since I bought this.
i bought the petkit pura max a couple of days ago. it really has done me wonders and i’m glad i saved up for it! it looks sleek, works awesome and the app is so user friendly! love everything about it, do not regret a thing. my cats adapted to it the moment i placed it down. thanks so much petkit! love ya
