The PetSafe Little Dog Spray is a lightweight Citronella Spray anti-bark collar designed for pet breed dogs above 3kg. The collar is dual activated to prevent any false corrections from other barking dogs within the same area. The bark collar module is completely waterproof and is powered by a PetSafe RFA-188 Battery that lasts between 3-4 months with average use. The Little Dog Spray Collar delivers a quick burst of citronella spray when your dog barks. The burst of citronella spray breaks your dog's barking cycle by alerting a number of your dog's senses; smell, touch, and hearing. Your dog will hear the sound of the spray being released from the module, they'll feel the mist on their snout and they'll smell the scent of citronella. This distraction controls nuisance barking in pet breed dogs.

After about two days and a few attempted barks, our year old mini Schnauzer now no longer barks at the neighbour's fence every time she goes outside - she's happy to just patrol around the property. When inside she no longer barks at any noise, like car doors slamming - she hears in the distance. As a Covid Level 4 lockdown puppy, she was never socialised properly with people coming to our house, and we can now have friends around without worrying about incessant barking. We no longer need to use the collar at all - she's a very happy settled pup and so are we! Can't believe the change! So glad we chose this natural and safe option.

I bought two of these and neither of them worked. The first one worked for about a week of occasional use. Then it started leaking a steady, tiny hiss of spray from the intake hole. Months later, on a road trip w/now 2 small dogs I picked up 2 of the older, silver models that use the 6 volt batteries. They still work great (2 years later, intermittent use for overnights away from home or having exciting visitors that the dogs celebrate vocally, Enthusiastically, unceasingly. Also for occasional backyard relaxing if the neighbor kids get the dogs too excited.) I shared one with my sister for her dog on a hotel overnight and it was a revelation to her. I tried to buy her one but can only find the new “elites” with that proprietary battery so I caved, hoping the leaky one I had was a fluke. I got a few inconsistent sprays out of it, many barks without spray, then it just quit completely. I tried a new battery, refilled the spray and The lights did their thing correctly when I followed the steps to turn it on. Then I tested it by loudly barking right up against The back of it, tapping the back of it, holding it against my own throat and trying different tones of loud singing andyelling... nothing. I’ve wasted too much $ on the bad new design ones that don’t work. I really wish I could get another old silver model one to give my 4 legged niece. Obviously the requirement of a $15 proprietary battery makes this PetSafe’s preferred model to make, regardless of it’s consistent failure to function. Disappointing.

Bought this yesterday and started to attempt to use it today. Followed the directions twice just to make sure I didn’t miss something. When the dog barks, nothing happens. I can hear a slight clicking sound but no spray whatsoever. Also, the spray is icy cold coming out of the can which I did not expect. In the box is a note that says if you have a problem with this item, do not return it to the seller, but reach out to the manufacturer. The last thing I feel like doing is trying to work something out with the manufacturer. Total waste of money.

I can honestly say that this product really works. Our little pooch would bark alot when she went outside. Every noise that our neighbours made, she would constantly bark. Whenever we were out walking her, she would bark at other dogs no matter how much we tried to refocus her. But within 10 minutes of wearing this collar, she stopped her constant barking. After a few days, the barking was almost non-existent. She has never worn the collar all the time, only when needed to but the effect of its use, has certainly worked. I highly recommend this collar, well worth the money.
Archie is an almost 2 year old Maltese shihtzu. He’s pretty barky, especially when he sees people walking on the street or other dogs walking past our 2nd floor apartment balcony. I could grab him and tell him off but the main issue was when my partner or I leave he’d get so anxious and bark and bark and I could still hear him minutes later barking from the garage. I felt terrible for the neighbours so I wanted some kind of deterrent to hopefully break the habit. We put the collar on him for the first time yesterday arvo. He still had his initial bark and the spray caused him to stop after the first bark. Today has been less successful, he still had some large barking sessions when the door bell rang or he heard people in the corridor outside our front door. I thought maybe it had ran out of spray and topped it up and checked it was working which I think it is. He did look down a few times like he noticed the spray but continued to bark. Hopefully over the next few days we will see some improvements and bark reduction.
Perfect for my mini dachshund. Keeps her quiet Sometimes she will give a low rumble so ask to express concern about noises she hears but that is okay with me. This thing does wonders. Vibrating and noise emitting collars just made her bark more to “fight” them. It also is small enough not to weigh down or impede movement on little doggies. The only time it fails to silence her barking is when someone rings front doorbell. She lets it shoot off in her face because she needs to ward off invaders. Luckily that doesnt happen often.
Unfortunately these were my last effort in controlling my dogs barking , I have tried everything, treats , battery operated that makes a noise when dogs bark, those I have had purchased 4 different ones, nothing seems to work , they bark through it, we lived in close proximity to neighbours, who had dogs also and I felt like I was trying to keep my dogs in line and neighbours couldn’t give a hoot.We moved into the country where there are very few people and we are on acres , and thought this is the answer, needless to say we still have loud trucks and cows and rabbits and lots of birds , I thought I’m going to try this collar and it does work, first few barks , but then we are barking through it again , they don’t like the spray but everything around them is ... MoreUnfortunately these were my last effort in controlling my dogs barking , I have tried everything, treats , battery operated that makes a noise when dogs bark, those I have had purchased 4 different ones, nothing seems to work , they bark through it, we lived in close proximity to neighbours, who had dogs also and I felt like I was trying to keep my dogs in line and neighbours couldn’t give a hoot.We moved into the country where there are very few people and we are on acres , and thought this is the answer, needless to say we still have loud trucks and cows and rabbits and lots of birds , I thought I’m going to try this collar and it does work, first few barks , but then we are barking through it again , they don’t like the spray but everything around them is obviously more interesting that they will put up with the spray. I won’t give in yet, I will continue to use, as this is better than the other products I have wasted my money on.
So far so good. The battery lights can sometimes be deceiving. I noticed the red light flashing on occasions, but once switching off and off again and manoeuvring the dial, the green light flashes? Don’t change your battery unnecessarily. The actual function of the unit/sensor has been effective with our Maltese terrier.A worthwhile investment.
Terrible, first one didn't work and got a second one sent to me but the replacement one would not activate when my dog barked either. I trimmed her fur to make sure it wasn't blocking it, adjusted the coller over and over but it still would not work, she could bark constantly and not once would it activate. The other spray coller I purchased for my bigger dog worked great! But the little dog one just didn't work for my dog
This color works as described. However, it did not work at all for my small breed dog who has a barking issue. I gave it to my daughter who has a smaller size standard poodle and it worked just fine for her dog. So it will work for some dogs, but not others. Some dogs just require a stronger correction. From my smaller dog we first tried a vibration and beep only color, then we tried this one that has the citronella spray. None of those worked for him and we had to move on unfortunately to a static correction collar which was a last resort for us and fortunately it did work. And he still barks and goes after some people but the color does stop his behavior in its tracks. So just keep that in mind that this color does work for some but not others. It does however work as advertised. Just be sure to turn it upside down when you refill the citronella. Depending on how the dog reacts to the collar and how often it barks you may need to refill the citronella more often than usual and unfortunately there is no indicator that shows you when the citronella is low so you have to check it occasionally. For the dogs that it works for, I think it is a wonderful product. It is fairly small, definitely smaller than most bark collars. And I think it is a very Humane method.
