The pups were all shy to use it at first, but now they prefer it! I can almost swear my shih tzu has been drinking more water than usual after replacing their water bowl with this little fountain. I love how easy it was to set up, as well as how easy it is to swap out the old water and give it a rinse at the sink. The removable filters are fairly cheap and effective. My only issue would be that it would be nice if the blue light indicating it's on could be dimmed a bit, it can be quite strong and we can see the glow on the walls from the bedroom. Overall though, this has been super nice. It's also really quiet! Just a subtle tinkling sound if you get really close to it. I'm very pleased and my dogs are too. This pet fountain is really cool if you are looking to buy one. It’s very durable and easy to clean. It’s not very loud but you can hear it since it is a fountain. You can fit a lot of water in it since it’s a 140 oz. I have a dachshund terrier mix and for some reason she’s scared of it. I had to wait to complete this review for a while but she refuses to use it. She isn’t a big fan of water unless it’s sitting down on the ground in a small bowl so I’m hoping she’ll eventually change her mind but if your dog isn’t afraid of water.. they should like it! What’s really cool is it has a led light as seen in the picture that it will change different colors when it starts getting low. Very cool dog fountain!

I was gifted this water fountain and do overall like it. Assembly was fairly easy, however it wanted the motor to be disassembled and cleaned. I did not have confidence in myself doing that so I washed it whole.I like that you can see the water level, adjust the bubble amount of the water into the tray, and the light. When it’s low, the light turns from blue to red. I used to have a different bowl and when it was dry the motor would make the most horrendous noise, this does not do that!It is corded, but the cord has a good amount of length. I have mine plugged in on my bathroom vanity and the bowl on the floor. The cord is also USB, but does come with a plug for the wall.It did take my cat a moment to adjust to used to it. The Viva 64 oz Pet Fountain arrived, and I set it up – it was simple to do. Wash it well before you set it up, as directed in the instructions. Our cats were uncertain of what it was initially, avoiding it when entering the kitchen. Our dog (about 40lbs) was uncertain of it but found the reservoir a bit shallow. After about a week and half of use, the cats will check it out but not really use it, preferring our other fountain. The dog will use it for quick drinks but nothing more. I found the blue light helpful, especially at night so that we did not kick it. I liked that the light turned red when the water was low. It seems to need cleaning weekly so be aware of that if you are not a regular cleaner.Overall I like the features of the fountain, but feel it is ... MoreThe Viva 64 oz Pet Fountain arrived, and I set it up – it was simple to do. I have a cat who will only drink running water (and will make the water move all over the floor if it's in a bowl 🙄) so I thought I would give this fountain a try! I currently use a stainless steel AONBOY brand fountain with a flower spout and everyone seems to like it. I'll be comparing it to my current one.Pros:- the pump comes COMPLETELY APART! And it's easy to disassemble and reassemble! My current pump can only be partially disassembled and it's a pita- water indicator window and light. The only way to tell if the AONBOY pump is low is to listen- pump shuts off automatically when the water level it too low- really nice pump housing. There's an area the pump fits into and the cord is well secured. With my current pump I just have to know where to place it ... MoreI have a cat who will only drink running water (and will make the water move all over the floor if it's in a bowl 🙄) so I thought I would give this fountain a try! With my current pump I just have to know where to place it and the cord isn't secured at all- quieter than my current fountain- 2 filters, foam and carbon (same as current but different design)- adjustable water flowCons:- it's plastic. I got stainless steel because it's more resistant to mold and is more sustainable- not sure how the carbon filter is supposed to work. It sits in a slot at the back of the fountain, disconnected from the pump- cat doesn't seem to like it. If your pet needs to drink off of something and doesn't enjoy free-flowing water, this may not be the pump for you. It's only been set up for a couple hours so maybe she'll change her mind. All in all I'm pretty happy with the pump and if the cat decides she likes it as well, it'll probably replace my current fountain! If not, I'll probably try to Frankenstein the pump into the AONBOY fountain 😂

Not comfortable with my dogs using this unsupervised.
14 June 2024

The Viva Pet Fountain is a Fun concept but I'm not comfortable with my dogs using this as their primary water source when nobody is home. I don't like that I had to assemble the pump myself (I'm not an electrician - I don't trust myself to do things like this when my pets' safety is involved) and I don't feel good about an electrical cord being run through the water. I also worry about my dogs potentially knocking the plug out of the outlet or somehow getting tangled in the cord. The packaging says that this fountain could require up to 7X less cleaning than a traditional bowl, but I find that extremely difficult to believe. My dogs frequently come inside from playing with grass stuck on their mouth, so when they drink out of this fountain and the grass makes it into the slit, it'll be pushed around inside the container. All I have to do with their normal water bowl is empty it, clean it, fill it, and bring it back where it belongs. With this fountain, I'd have to unplug it, bring the entire container to the kitchen to be cleaned, bring it back to where it belongs, go get a container of water, walk back to the fountain, fill it back up, then plug it back in. I can't fill the fountain prior to returning it to its spot because the plastic is quite flimsy and doesn't hold its shape when full of water. The continuous flow of water is a nice idea and my dogs found it intriguing for a few minutes, but I don't think it has encouraged them to drink more than usual. I appreciate that this fountain filters the water, but over time it will be expensive to replace the filters (one is changed every 2-4 weeks and the other is changed every 1-2 months). I feel like it's more cost-effective and less hassle to continue to use our Brita pitcher to fill our dogs' regular water bowl.Like I said, fun idea, but needs improvement.

Quiet, holds a lot, light weight!
21 April 2024

I have attached a photo of the selling features of this fountain. Overall this fountain is a great choice. It’s small, compact, and light weight. The set up was easy and it holds a good amount of water for my one cat. It is quiet and you can’t hear it running except for a tiny trickle of water that you really have to tune into it to hear. I’m not sure how well the filter works due to me not testing the water. My cat is interested in the fountain but she hasn’t really taken to drinking from it yet. She’s always been weird with fountains as she prefers the tap. The great thing about this is that it mimics the tap with fresh flowing water. I took one star way due to it being plastic over stainless steel. With plastic, you need to clean it more frequently.

Surprised it was really good

So far so good, it works great and stays clean. I've tried fountains in the past and always found they got slimy and moldy seeming after just a couple days. This product is really nice so far. It's mostly l plastic but has a metal top where the water bubbles up and then sits in. Maybe that and the filter help keep it fresh. The power cord is nice and long so I had options for where I wanted to put it. It's easy to assemble and disassemble. I'm still skeptical and waiting for the slime but I've been using it for over a week and nothing yet (I have changed the water just I would with a regular bowl). I don't think the fountain has encouraged any of my cats to drink more but they were certainly intrigued by it when no first turned it on. Wonderful Fountain for Small Pups and Cats

The PetSafe Viva 64oz Pet Fountain is excellent for our 3 small dogs and large cat. We have another fountain in another room upstairs that we don’t like nearly as much as this one. We like the look and size of it, ease of use, lack of mess, and the fact all of the fur babies use it.The picture on the box was a good representation of the product. The box was right sized for the product, and the unit packaging would prevent damage, even if the shipper chose a poor location to leave the item, possibly in the rain… The instructions were well written, concise, easy to understand, included helpful pictures, provided tips, and were written in an easy on the eyes font. (I do recommend reading the instructions and not just using the pictures. I tried that first and reading made the assembly task even easier.)The white color of the container, with the led lighting inside, makes it easy to see the level of the water with a quick glance. I love the way the fountain identifies the water level is low. When it has sufficient water level, the light is blue. When the water level gets low, the light turns pink (or red). In addition, the water is a lighter color than the empty space, making seeing the level even easier. We like the ability to remove the top, in place, and refill with pitcher or glass or mixing bowl, without unplugging the fountain every time it needs water. We have had to fill it every 3ish days, with 4 pets drinking from it. There are lines on the front window showing max and min water levels. The fountain is easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. The container pieces are top rack dishwasher safe. The pump is easily taken apart (and resembled) for hand cleaning with water and dish soap. The filter and foam /sponge filters are water wash only. DO NOT use soap because it will not rinse out completely. The carbon filters and both sponge filters are also readily available by both the original manufacturer and third party manufacturers. We like the level of the bubble of the fountain. It makes a ripple in the water and not a splash, so doesn’t get water on the floor below or wall behind the unit. It also isn’t loud, doesn’t make a burble or other weird sounds that scare some furry kids. Not having a spout above the lid helps reduce the issues of spray mess and sound. The height of the unit is also perfect for smaller pups and all domestic cats. Chihuahua shown for size… 😊This fountain is for indoor use only. It is not made for the weather. It uses a USB and wall block adapter for power. The cord was long enough to run behind the buffet to plug in but would work with any indoor extension cord, if needed.I have found nothing that I don’t like about the fountain. My husband, the short cut hunter, found out the hard way, that you can’t add the water by just dumping it on top and expecting it to magically drain through the recirculation hole instantly. I showed him the handy little tab provided, on the edge of the top plate across from the hole, that makes the top easily lifted, without making a mess, for quick in place refilling. Now, he can’t find anything that he dislikes about it either. This is a great fountain and we highly recommend it.

Wonderful product for the furbabies!
1 July 2024

My fur baby is a little king. And thanks to Influenster and Petsafe he is getting treated like one. The fountain works very well if you ask me. It does what it's supposed to do. I like the fact that it keeps the water filtered and clean. My fur baby often drinks water throughout the day so this product definitely got put to work right away. It's very quiet. My dog was very much skeptical of the white box! But after a few run ins he finally gave it a go and started drinking from it. It's very sturdy and seems to be very great quality. I love it no more messy grimmy dog bowls that spill over. Keep in mind this review is coming from someone who is a first time pet fountain owner! So my review may differ. But either way we love it in our home!
