This carabiner has been around for a while for a good reason. Good quality dependable lightweight and affordable. Great every day carabiner for most uses. I did notice that they changed the finish slightly on the new ones but doesn’t seem to matter at all.

Great, fits perfectly with Zig Zag. Whatever coating thats used with the black color feels good, especially in colder weather. The ridges combined with the attatchment holes on the zig zag allow for little movement of the carabiner while climbing.

I've tried a few different types of carabiners, but this is by far my favorite. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to stick with this. Easy to open with one hand, light, and versatile.
I’m a homeowner with a couple acres who does a little side work for friends and neighbors. I have 6 different types/brands of carabiners, and the Petzl Am’D carabiners are the ones I reach for and use the most. I don’t have a complicated technical reason; they all work just fine. These ones just seem to fit my hand and operate the smoothest. They have a good multi-purpose shape. I’ve never been up a tree with one of these and thought “wish I would have grabbed a different carabiner.”
Just got this headlamp last week. Works well. I am used to the old material they used for the headbands years ago. This elastic is a slippery-er material and slides around a bit and I need to crank the headband tight to keep them secure and it becomes uncomfortable. It could just be the shape of my melon. I'll get used to it. Only other ding is the price. Expensive for a flashlight on a headband. This headlamp is so wonderful, it is exactly what I wanted it is perfect and back country gear has the best price and perfect service and super fast shipping and such helpful and friendly staff.
This light weight carabiner fits perfectly with the Petzl Chicane Auxiliary Brake & Petzl ZigZag PLUS!!! Feels smooth running up and down the line. I would recommend this to anyone who uses the chicane & zigzag combo.
Super nice. The action is super crisp and didn't have any grit or anything like other carabiners I've used.I personally really like this shape as it allows me to position my climbing hitch properly so that my anchor knot doesn't catch my prusik as frequently which was more of an issue when using oval carabiners.

Reliable locking system and pretty colorway. The shape is good, so the gri gri doesnt turn around while I belay. The only cons Id say is the locking system is made for right handed, so it might be confusing to left handed people, but you get used to it.
