Love the (newish) Petzl Altitude. It’s harness that looks and behaves like a harness, but without the extra bs of padding (that’s what layers are for). For those who are climbers turned skiers, this harness has the features you’d expect in configurations you’d expect. I love the thought that went into wider webbing and gear loops for when you want to do more than just rappel or be towed in a Skimo race.Liked this enough that I got a matching one (different color of course) for my partner.

Perfect for hiking use to make sure during sections with a little climbing. Very compact when stored in its bag. Easy to put on and adjust. No discomfort (worn for six hours straight) Its lightness is appreciated. Only small reservation concerning the size: my waist measurement measured and verified: 75 cm, mini waist measurement displayed 64 cm. Although I am in the recommended area, the loop is at the usage limit mark. So I should have chosen the smaller size.

I've owned one of these for a year and used several times for glacier travel in the Cascades, including a mountaineering course on Mt. Baker during which I was suspended in a crevasse with this harness for 15 to 20 minutes while others were learning how to haul me out. Despite it being so light, it's actually surprisingly comfortable due to the fairly wide, flat leg loops. It's also very easy to get on and off while wearing crampons or skis, which is essential for an alpine harness.

I bought this harness a month ago so that I have an extra to take friends climbing who don't have their own gear. The harness is simple and easy to use but comfortable for an alpine bod. I bought it in a small and the size range is a bit more narrow than I expected but it still works. I made a 6'1" friend squeeze into it. He complained a bit but it got the job done. Overall, a great harness to have around.
Used this lightweight harness for 6 days in the Alps during a ski tour from Chamonix into Arolla. Very comfortable and wore it pretty much the entire time while on the glacier. REI was out of stock so was happy FF was able to accommodate.
I use this as a safety backup for a bosun's chair when climbing the mast on my sailboat. It is ideal for that because it fits under the bosun's chair without having a bunch of padding and gear loops getting in the way. As a backup, I expect to never have to actually sit in it but if I need to, it will be a life saver.
I did a tree climbing test at home. It is the first time to install the harness. It doesn't compare with other makers, but it feels good. Until now, we have been using harness alternatives in Zyle. There is a completely different sense of security. He is 166 cm tall and weighs 66 kg and purchases ML considering winter equipment. It might have been nice to be one size smaller. I am looking forward to mountaineering and backcountry skiing next season.
Will be of great use in the upcoming ski touring as well as mountaineering trips. Takes incredibly little space. Comes with a functional bag.
Not yet tested in use but very favorable first impressions. Careful manufacturing and finishing, Easy storage in its case, complete instructions, easy to put on while standing, no obstruction to movement
My old harness was embarrassingly old last year on Mount Rainier. Upgraded this year to the Petzl harness. Much, much better. Super light, easy to manipulate (even with frozen fingers), packs down small for the hike in.
