Bought to replace an older model which was not steaming well (I had accidentally dropped it!), although it worked as a dry iron. This one works at least as good as the previous one had, with the added benefit of being able to see the water level more easily when filling. Controls are excellent, and steaming is efficient. Slight downside is the shorter power cord, so beware of this if your power supply is some way from the far end of your ironing board or surface. Our previous iron was a Philips Azur Performance Plus 2400W. Unfortunately, it got retired after falling onto tiled concrete floor. It only fell because I tripped over the chord that pulled the iron of the ironing board. Surprisingly it only received damage to the housing at its base by dislodging from its connections and slightly coming apart. I managed to get it back together again, secure it, and Wola, to my amazement it worked fine. One can only say a great product well manufactured. It was a great iron, and it was a shame to have to opt for safety and buy a new one. With its great performance we decided to go with Philips again. There is no chord tidy clip, the filler housing cap opens to the front and stays erect and can be slammed against the tap causing it to break, the old opened sideways and lay flat, the water housing plastic is dark and difficult to see the water level. It may be only me, but I feel the handle position/style has been changed slightly and was awkward to pick up for the first few times. It heats up quick and does do a great job as did the old. Iron was purchased 12/7/2024, and except for the differences above I would have given it a 5 star rating.
