However, having used the iron now for about 4 months my only comparison complaints of new to old are, the chord is only 2.5M as opposed to 3M, but this is only our situation, it may not be to others. There is no chord tidy clip, the filler housing cap opens to the front and stays erect and can be slammed against the tap causing it to break, the old opened sideways and lay flat, the water housing plastic is dark and difficult to see the water level. It may be only me, but I feel the handle position/style has been changed slightly and was awkward to pick up for the first few times. It heats up quick and does do a great job as did the old. Iron was purchased 12/7/2024, and except for the differences above I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Great little steam iron from Philips, replacing my old one which had seen better days. This one is lovely and lightweight with an ergonomic hand making it nice to use for long periods of time. Large water tank so no need to re fill mind ironing. Has a steam glide sole plate which works beautifully on all fabrics I have tested on so far, I have even ironed items which I wouldn’t normally for fear of scorching but this has ironed them beautifully without any problems. My only concern is the power cable is shorter that me previous iron so I have had to adjust my ironing set up to accommodate the 2 meter cable (my old one was 3 metres)Other than this I am really impressed so may functions I haven’t had chance to use yet but temperature is fully controllable, steam and ... MoreGreat little steam iron from Philips, replacing my old one which had seen better days. A fast and powerful iron, the Philips DST7020/20 Steam Iron helps me a lot to save time and leaves my clothes neat.I really like the design and the anti-dripping feature is something that I really love. All my previous irons were dripping water and that sometimes combined with scale was leaving stains on my clothes especially on the white shirts. This iron is not just fabulous with steaming, but it also has such an easy way to clean it.As per the plate, it glides effortlessly, and this helps me a lot. On first impressions this has sleek lines and is on a cool blue. It is a powerful 2800w, so 400w more than my current model so my first thought is can I iron quicker to save electricity? There is large water tank and the usual heat settings 1(synthetics) to 3 (cotton). However, the dial also allows you to set the iron cooler than 1, and “maximum” for linens, which need more power. My existing iron has a jug to fill the iron, so I resorted to using this as whilst the hole is quite large it wasn’t quite big enough for my kitchen tap.Once fired up I had no issues with the iron. It feels a little heavier than I am used to , especially once I had filled it up to the 300ml water capacity. It glided over my washing with ease, and the narrower tip made navigating around the shirt buttons simple enough. I did make use of the steam setting and the cotton (30 setting) for a pair of jeans, and it was effortless. It has the Standard spray button on the handle, and a 250g steam boost but I didn’t need either within the washing I needed to iron whilst testing but it is better to had for stubborn creases than not. The 50g/minute steam setting was sufficient for the load, and the tank having a larger capacity was certainly a benefit than needing to refill part way through. It took quite a while for the iron to cool down afterwards before putting it away – you can wrap the cord around the base (but unfortunately no plastic clip to hold the cord in place). What I don’t like is the fact there’s 4 leaflets. All of them have over a dozen languages so you need to find the English. One is the guarantee , the User manual is only images and hardly any words. There are two leaflets that look identical that have a warning about the ‘Quick Calc” system. I found this the most frustrating aspect of this appliance. Older users may find this overwhelming. For example, there’s an “eco” mode, but I found no details or explanation other than to use on silks. Similarly, no explanation about the “Quick Calc” system. It took a while before I spotted you need to check every 3 months. If I was rating this purely on the literature/instructions, it would get a thumbs down! As it is I did find the Philips Azur iron pleasant and reasonably easy to use for everyday use.

[Rewarded Review] Loving this Iron
2 June 2024

When I first set up this iron, it was throwing lots of water on my clothes as ironing but don't worry as it will soon calm down as its the initial usage. I found the iron worked very well to heat up and take the creases out of the clothes. The weight I find is perfect but may be a little heavy for some. The cord is a nice length. The water tank is very large and holds a lot of water, however in my first use I noticed the water disappeared very quickly probably due to it leaking on the clothes but after that it now lasts well during ironing. The iron is a lovely colour and I love it has a steam press button directly under the handle so it's easy to press when ironing. This button also allows you to steam clothes keeping the iron upright and pressing the button.

I have ironed things which I wouldn’t have with my previous iron due to the nature of the fabric and it’s worked lovely leaving no marks. Nice quality, lightweight iron with good array of features and a sole plate that glides easily over materials. Our old iron started to spray out brown muck from the steam holes in the base plate which was a disaster and ruined many items. We wanted something with an anti-calc feature and this Philips iron seem to fit the bill. We had previously used the variety of waters specifically designed for irons, but these seem to have a little affect in stopping the iron building up with gunk and muck that eventually ended up over the clothes. It feels good in your hand without creating fatigue during use, isn’t too heavy and has switches and features that are easy to operate.
