The no-fuss timer and temperature controls are easy to use, despite the temperature dial being a little loose on my particular review unit (it wobbles a little when setting the dial), but works nonetheless. The grill attachment and bottom tray are easy to manage. The retractable power cable was a surprise and I found it very convenient. One small nit-pick is that I wished the power cable was a little longer but not a deal-breaker. What surprised me most about this product is just how light and portable this air fryer is, it was by far much lighter than it appeared with its compact plastic exterior build (and non-stick metal tray/grill construction). In terms of size, given just how compact the product is it fits in nicely in the cupboard with ease considering this is the smaller air fryer in the range. Cooking – In terms of operating the product, it works as intended – for most meals. For the positives, I really appreciated the quick warm-up of the product. Cooking on the other hand was surprisingly quicker than my previous air fryer. While other participants in my review group were given the XXL version, it was quite difficult to cook larger cuts of meats due to the smaller tray size of my review unit. Overall, I was quite impressed by the quicker cooking times and the results of most meals, but felt the recommended cooking times and temperature guide should be reviewed as this wasn’t reflected with some of the meals I’ve cooked with this product. If there were some negatives, it would be that the timer cannot be stopped or wound-back and the lack of a window to check on the cooking process. Despite the capability of baking cakes, I felt the small tray size wasn’t sufficient and none of my cooking trays fit inside the air fryer. Cleaning – Cleaning this product was a lot easier than my previous glass-based air fryer. For manual/hand-washing, the non-stick surfaces of the bottom tray and sides of the attachment easily clean without issue with regular detergent and a non-abrasive wipe. The metallic mesh part of the attachment doe’s require a little effort (sometimes a pre-soak in detergent prior to cleaning) with either a brush or scrub sponge and most food remnants will eventually come off. Cleaning the exterior of the product is easy, only requiring a very gentle wipe-down to restore the stylish glossy appeal of the fryer. Operation - I felt the controls were adequate despite the basic appearance (compared to the XXL version with the digital dials and display). The sound omitted from the air fryer is acceptable; it’s in no way a silent machine or the noisiest either. The vents were also adequate during the cooking process but expect most food smells to escape into the room or area. Final Thoughts – Overall, the Philips Air Fryer definitely surprised me; the sleek and sophisticated design as well as the glossy black finish is definitely a crowd pleaser. The quick start-up and efficient operation of this product was probably the biggest benefit, the quality of most food cooked with this air fryer was definitely the biggest surprise with moist and tasty meats to crispy and flavoursome finger foods that didn’t require much cooking time at all. The only negatives I could find with this product so far are: the small tray size limiting cooking options, some inconsistent cooking times and temperature settings on the paper quick guide, the lack of a window or screen to check the cooking process to the fixed timer that can’t be reset or stopped if you make a mistake. This is a product best suited for those that want to cook a quick meal without the fuss, the HD9218 model in particular is ideal for small families especially during the colder months when cooking outside isn’t an option.

I recently purchased an air fryer from Shopee, and I am absolutely thrilled with it! The product arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It's incredibly easy to use and has significantly reduced the amount of oil I need to cook my favorite dishes. The results are consistently delicious and healthier, with a crispy finish that rivals traditional frying. Cleaning up is a breeze, too. Overall, this air fryer has exceeded my expectations and has become an indispensable tool in my kitchen. Highly recommend!

Finally made the leap to air frying and it's good!

It took me a while to get to the air-fryer stage of life, but I'm pleased I finally made it! One thing that really turned me off them was how shoddy and fake many of them looked, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this one at Myer. It's a fairly simple design - just a timer and heat control dial - so it's very easy to use. The compact size is perfect for one or two people. I've tried various food items and was particularly happy with the way a steak cooked, better than in a pan. I've given it 4 stars as the only issue I have is the timer. Many items only need a few minutes of cooking, and it's not easy getting an accurate time on it. However, that doesn't detract from how useful it is. I'm pleased I've finally made the jump to air frying!

I would have preferred a digital Airfryer

As this is my first airfryer, I am quite happy with this product, however I probably should have purchased a digital model. The dial can be a little difficult to turn in reverse as I discovered when I had set the timer incorrectly. I think I would also prefer to be able to see the food while it is cooking as I have to turn off the power at the power point as I wasn't sure if I could just open the drawer while the airfryer is in operation. Overall though I have been very pleased with the food I have cooked in the airfryer and it is great to not have to leave my front door or a window open whilst using my gas stove.

Make cooking fun! This little gem is a time saver!

Not having used one before I have found it easy to use, quick cooking, and easy to clean. I cooked roast veg in oven and air fryer and it was amazing how much quicker and cruncher the air fryer veg was. There was no difference in taste of potatoes but pumpkin was the best I have ever had and the zucchini was perfect. This air fryer is perfect for one person meals or doing small batches them keep warm in the oven if catering for a larger group.I look forward to experimenting more. It is small enough to fit in the Kitchen cupboard but also pretty enough to keep out on the bench if you have enough space! It doesn't get hot like the oven so it has been great during the hot day. Should have owned one years ago

Never owned an airfryer and now wonder why not. Great unit. Cooks really well and large enough to feed 2 of us. Managed to get a small whole chicken in it and cooks food quicker than your oven. Practice will make perfect. Great roast veges, chips etc. Have yet to try a steak or pork chop but sure it will cook well.Easy to clean and takes less than 5 mins to warm up. Purchased this one on special for $119 and well worth the price.Just watch the rubber insert in the base as can dislodge if you clean too vigorously. Can be challenging to reinsert but persevere. You get the hang of it.

The only thing a girl needs in the kitchen

It's a gorgeous airfryer. I like it as it's white and a bit of pink. It is so easy to wash. I use it every single day to cook my tea. It cooks very quickly. I'm a single person so I don't need a big one. It is enough for one person. Food comes out very crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside and yet perfectly cooked. . I haven't bake cakes in it yet but I've cooked frozen vege in it and they come out soft and edible. It has dials which is easy to turn. Love this product.

The food was crisp on the outside , evenly cooked and cooked very quickly. The only issue I found was that the cooking guidelines on the top of the fryer weren't too accurate, with some things cooking a lot quicker than stated, so you really have to keep a check on the food. I would have liked to try more recipes from the nutri u app which is associated with this product, as there are so many suggestions on there, however, as I only had the slotted tray, this was not possible.I'm very pleased with my airfryer and use it for anything I can. It's been a complete gamechanger for me and has made cooking, something which I've never enjoyed, so much easier, particularly when you're a busy mum. I use my oven a lot less, with the food tasting so much better in the airfryer. Despite a few little niggles (and I was really struggling to find any!) it's completely exceeded my expectations.

Very small to be able to set correctly the settings so you wound up cooking at a higher/lower temp then you intend as well as longer/shorter time period . I'm personally not fond of this particular unit and seems more work then it's suppose to be BUT for other, it might just suit them to a T.

Before trying the air fryer, I never would have purchased one and saw it as something that I really didn't need and that would be relegated to the cupboard after a few uses. The fact we haven't used the oven since receiving the air fryer speaks for itself. My partner, a chef, commented that it is frighteningly convenient.The air fryer is super convenient if pushed for time as you don't have to wait for it to heat up as you would a conventional oven.The basket could be a bit bigger but does well for 2 people if you are cooking a side of chips for example or the meat portion of a meal.I have tried cooking everything from asparagus, to sausages and chicken thighs, to calzone and Croque Monsieur. I have found that I can just leave it to do it's thing without constantly checking and turning items, which is great for freeing up time to do other household tasks.The analogue timer is slightly hard to get the exact time you are looking for as it's an egg timer affair with some resistance, putting it back to zero if you have finished before the timer pings feels like you are forcing it and I am slightly worried about the longevity of this knob.The basket and fat catcher are really easy to clean being non stick and size wise it doesn't take up that much counter space.This version is ideal for a single person or couple and I can also see it being really useful for students.
