Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle 3m+ 330ml X2

The Natural Response nipple only releases milk when your baby is actively drinking. This allows your baby to suck, swallow, and breathe in their natural rhythm—just like breastfeeding. This makes it easy to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding. The design of the wide, soft, and flexible nipple mimics the shape and feel of the breast, allowing your baby to drink comfortably. The anti-colic valve reduces colic and discomfort, as air does not enter your baby's tummy during feeding. The nipple opening is designed to release milk only when the baby is actively drinking, preventing any spills at home or on the go. Every baby has their own drinking rhythm. The optimal flow of milk depends on how fast or slow your baby drinks. A slow flow is suitable for active, fast drinkers, while a fast flow is better for slow and steady drinkers. Philips Avent Natural Response bottles and nipples are made from BPA-free materials.

Appealing design and easy to clean

The overall design if these bottles is great, the ergonomic shape makes it easy for baby to hold, and the nipple shape is more similar to a breast than some other brands we have tried, which is appealing if you will be doing combo feeding of breast and bottle. My daughter is almost one, so after several months using the same brand, she has become a bit more selective about what she likes. Depending on her disposition at the time of the feed, sometimes she loved this bottle, and sometimes she became frustrated and would take it in smaller amounts with breaks in between to explore the bottle with her hands, tipping it upside down, shaking it, etc as it was something new after many months of sameness and repetition. She did learn how to use the nipple relatively quickly, but at times she would shake the bottle over her face while laying back and it would drip a few drops on her face, though there were no major spills. I did find that with the wider nipple, the bottle needs to be tipped relatively far back for the nipple to fill with milk, and now that she is older she sometimes will hold the bottle on her own and take it sitting up versus laying back in my arms, which is more difficult with this design as she needs to tip her head and the bottle further to get the last few ounces efficiently. This bottle is incredibly easy to assemble and has minimal pieces, and several times I was able to prepare and assemble the bottle with the baby in my arms without issue. Overall, it’s a great bottle with a good design, we will continue to try to offer it and get her more comfortable using different styles and brands. and I plan to try to introduce it earlier if/ when we have future children. This product was given to me as a part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel.

The same flow natural response nipple works for each of their very different feeding styles! The best part for me is that the bottle doesn’t spray or leak when one of my babies tosses it on the floor. With three babies in my house drinking from bottles, a bottle that is easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble is a must! The Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle does not disappoint. It only has three parts to clean, so washing and getting the bottles ready for the next feed is a breeze! I highly recommend this baby bottle.

They are a wider bottle so he did take some getting used to holding it but he’s figured it out now and loves these bottles. Stellar Review Products sent us these bottles to test along with nipples that were a flow size up and I was able to have him use both with no issues at all so it’s also versatile with the nipple flow and your child can use the range of them and you don’t have to worry about always making sure you put the correct flow on the bottle. My boy used to gag all the time with other bottles and with this one since he controls the flow he’s able to get as much as he wants without it flooding into his mouth. If you’ve been on the fence about trying these, I implore you to give them a go; you won’t be disappointed. Thanks to Stellar Review Product Testing for sending us these bottles to review and giving us our new favorite ones.

Easy for little hands to hold

The Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles are, in my opinion, the perfect transitionary bottle for weaning babies! With the hourglass shape of the bottles, my son’s little hands easily grasp the bottle and he has quickly learned to tip the bottle back to drink. Unlike most sippy cups, the natural flow of these nipples lets him control how quickly or slowly he intakes fluids, and he loves chewing on the nipples (better them than me!).I’m also fairly impressed with the spill-proof(ness) of the nipples. With the constant chewing, I would expect to have a lot more leakage from the tips than I’ve seen so far. I’m confident enough in the nipples that I just throw the hygiene lid on the bottles, toss them in my purse or diaper bag, and away I go. And it doesn’t cross my mind again that there’s fluid of any kind in my bag.Something else to mention is the volume capacity. It’s a generous 11oz bottle, and with a higher volume, I have to refill the bottle less often. Given that my son is mostly drinking water from the bottle, it’s really easy to monitor his intake, compared to smaller bottles where I tend to lose track of refills.I do notice that he takes in quite a bit of air (despite the anti-colic design), but at 10-months-old, that mainly manifests itself in more burping, not discomfort. However, for a younger baby, this could be something to be aware of. If you have an eager eater, who tends to slurp greedily, there could be some tummy troubles. These bottles/nipples are ridiculously easy to clean. Because there aren’t any little nooks and crannies, and the nipples are super soft silicone, I’m able to drop them in my regular dishwater, clean them with a dishcloth and let them dry. No extra parts and bits, or sanitization rituals necessary.Overall, I’m highly pleased with these bottles and the nipples. My highly independent baby loves the fact that he can drink on his own, and I love the subtle little benefits of a simple, easy-to-clean bottle that is happy to tag along on our adventures without dampening the affair.*I received this Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.*

Great bottles and second child likes them too

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby bottle set. We currently use the 9 oz bottles and were thinking about transitioning to larger bottles, so these 11 oz bottles were great to try. We have tried many different types of bottles, but the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with the Natural Response Nipple has had the best success for our 2 kids. Most recently, our 7-month old son, who we have transitioned from exclusively breast feeding, definitely took to these bottles and nipples quickly. The milk is released from the nipple when the baby actively drinks, so when pausing, he doesn’t get extra milk pouring down his mouth, which better mimics breastfeeding. The natural response nipple is designed such that he can drink, swallow, and breathe as though he normally does when breastfeeding. I don’t have to worry too much about the angle at which I hold the bottle, because he controls the flow. I have found that these bottles allow my son to have decreased spit ups and be less gassy. Another thing that I love about them is that these bottles are very simple to clean, just 3 simple pieces (not including the cap. The shape of the bottle makes it easy for me to hold and for my 7-month to hold himself too. The bottles are sturdy and have a wide base so I do not have to worry about the bottle falling over when I place it down (unlike some other brands). These bottles also do not leak, even when my baby takes control and flings the bottle around, thanks to the no-drip nipple design. Interestingly, the 9 oz bottles that we currently use have the grey markings, but they are faint and hard to see. These 11 oz bottles have much darker grey measurement markings and are much clearer. One thing I do find odd is that the 11 oz bottle cannot be used in the Philips Avent bottle warmer – it’s too tall. The bottle warmer can only warm around 7 or 8 oz of milk due to the compartment size, so this isn’t a knock on the 11 oz bottle but an overall knock on Philips for not considering the compatibility of all its products.

Huge fan of these bottles with my near 6 mo old

While combo feeding between breast & bottles with my 5.5 month old baby, I'm anxious about the transition between bottle and breast (I don't want my baby to refuse the breast) and I'm eager to make sure whatever product we use for bottles is the best on the market so I can continue combo feeding without needing to quit nursing. I have been extremely pleased with the Avent Natural Response nipples in particular, and I'm over the moon with the fact that nursing hasn't been refused once since we started using these nipples exclusively (and I've had only so-so luck with other brands and nipple flows). My little guy gets bottles during the week while I'm working, and he's taken to these bottles and specifically two nipple sizes (4's and 5's) beautifully, and oh my gosh ... MoreWhile combo feeding between breast & bottles with my 5.5 month old baby, I'm anxious about the transition between bottle and breast (I don't want my baby to refuse the breast) and I'm eager to make sure whatever product we use for bottles is the best on the market so I can continue combo feeding without needing to quit nursing. I have been extremely pleased with the Avent Natural Response nipples in particular, and I'm over the moon with the fact that nursing hasn't been refused once since we started using these nipples exclusively (and I've had only so-so luck with other brands and nipple flows). My little guy gets bottles during the week while I'm working, and he's taken to these bottles and specifically two nipple sizes (4's and 5's) beautifully, and oh my gosh he's started holding the bottles himself (not super well mind you, but he's trying!) and I love that the shape of the bottles allows him to hold and guide the bottle into his mouth with both hands. It took a few minutes of trial and error the first bottle while we figured out exactly how much of the nipple should be in his mouth to get good purchase, but he got the hang of it immediately after that first bottle. We had a little issue with dripping on our first try, but it was human error (I hadn't pulled the entire nipple through the top, which was completely obvious when I tipped the bottle up and took a look, so it was dripping through the base of the nipple and not through the tip). We haven't had any other dripping, and now that he's moving beyond 8 oz per meal, the 11oz size has really come in clutch. In addition to feeding my baby with these bottles, I also can connect them to my breast pump and pump directly into them, so even when the baby isn't using them, I am, and the size and width of the bottle is perfect for me navigating from my pump to fridge and everything in between. I also love being able to pop the nipple on so quickly without needing a ton of other parts. Cleaning is also a breeze, I use a regular simple bottle brush with a nipple attachment for the nipple, and after a few weeks of consistent use and cleaning, they still look completely brand new and we haven't had any issues. I also really like the feel of the nipple itself, it's soft and pliable, and my baby is also a clear fan.The baby also seems to be comfortable pausing while feeding - he can just take a break without removing the bottle from his mouth, so he seems more adept at feeding from these nipples than other options we've tried.I received these bottles and nipples in exchange for my honest review with Stellar Product Testing and I'm absolutely thrilled I did, I've now hidden all of the other bottles and nipples we had been trying to use prior and I'm much happier!

Leak free bottles that mimic breastfeeding
4 April 2023

I recently received the 11 oz. Phillips Avent Natural Baby Bottle Set with Natural Response Nipple from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am a working mom of a 10-month-old who now strictly takes her milk (breast and formula) from bottles.Just like the 4 oz. variety that I used before, I was glad to see that these bottles would also be a cinch to clean with only 4 parts. The bottle, nipple, ring, and cap were extremely easy to clean by popping them right into the top rack of the dishwasher (my go-to way to clean all my bottles). This set came with a level 4 nipple. The bottle, nipple, ring, and cap were extremely easy to clean by popping them right into the top rack of the dishwasher (my go-to way to clean all my bottles). This set came with a level 4 nipple. My daughter was first hesitant with the fast flow as she’s used to a slower-flow nipple, but over time she has gotten used to it. She’s learned to pace herself and pull the bottle away when the flow is just too fast. This pace does help her finish her bottles more quickly, which is nice when we’re on the go or in a hurry to finish a feeding. For that reason, this bottle has become our go-to for before-bed feedings so our bedtime routine gets done just a little quicker. The shape and mechanics of the Natural Response Nipple really mimic that of extracting milk from the breast, which would have been great to use from the very beginning when I was still breast-feeding and wanting her to pace-feed appropriately from bottles with other caregivers. The look of the bottle is aesthetically pleasing and easy to hold. Although it is wide-mouthed, the indentations in the center of the bottle offer a comfortable grip for both me and my daughter who can now hold her bottle independently. I often can lay her down and she can give herself her bottle without my assistance. My favorite part of this bottle is that it doesn’t leak. That’s right – no leakage of liquid gold or expensive formula. She can toss the bottle to the side and we don’t get any leakage from the nipple. That’s because the nipple is strategically designed to only let milk out when it is being sucked out. All other bottles we’ve tried have leaked either from the nipple or the nipple ring, but not this baby. That means no yucky milk smell or stains on bedsheets, pack and plays, car seats, carpets, or anywhere else a baby might be drinking a bottle and toss it to the side when they’re done. The only criticism that I have of this bottle is that it is very large with its 11 oz capacity. My daughter only drinks up to 6 oz per serving, so we never use this bottle to its max capacity. I wish that it was available in a 6 oz variety. But nonetheless, it still works for us and provides us with additional space when she needs more than the 4 oz that her smaller bottles allow for. For a baby that drinks up to 11 oz in a bottle, than this is perfect.Overall, this is a great bottle set that I would recommend for any mom, especially one that is looking for a bottle that transitions easily from breastfeeding and doesn’t leak!

Mostly impressed

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Phillips Avent Natural Baby Bottle and Natural Response Nipple set.Overall, I was impressed with these bottles and nipples and consider them to be mostly good. I love how easy it is to clean these bottles and nipples. They do not have any extra pieces or vents to clean, despite being anti-colic bottles. The vent is built into the nipple, which is a great feature, but you have to make sure it is open prior to use in order to prevent the nipple from collapsing. The no-drip feature is a fantastic idea and mimics breastfeeding in that the baby has to suck for milk to flow. The no-drip feature is a fantastic idea and mimics breastfeeding in that the baby has to suck for milk to flow. The only issue with the no-drip feature is that it makes it difficult to test the temperature of the milk and you can’t just put a drop of the milk on your wrist to test. The nipples come in five flow rates and are very clearly marked on the top. The bottles came with size 4 flow nipples and a separate set of size 5 flow nipples. The shape of the nipple is different than what my baby is used to, and even though my baby breast feeds, my baby would get frustrated drinking from these bottles (I’m assuming from the sucking motion required to get the milk to flow). My baby had oral tie revisions, so I’m not sure if that played a role as well. I do like the size and shape of the bottle. It is contoured and easy to hold and has a volume capacity of 11 ounces, which is great for older babies. However, the 11oz sized bottle might not fit in all bottle warmers. It is on the larger side and fit in my bottle warmer, but this is something you would have to be mindful of when purchasing. With all that said, I love the idea of the anti-drip feature that mimics breastfeeding, but believe these bottles would be best suited for babies that need pacing while feeding or are not used to the flow of other nipples.

Solid bottle option
6 November 2022

I received a 3 pack of 11 ounce Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles with Natural Response Nipple (clear) through the Stellar Testing Panel. My daughter is 7 months old and has traditionally not taken any bottles – we’ve tried Tommy Tippee and Dr. Brown’s because we had them from her older siblings and they just weren’t a fit. I was excited to try the Philips Avent Natural just as another option to hopefully give us some more flexibility in feeding her – she is eating some solids and nursing a lot so it’s not a necessity, but again something we wanted to try.The bottle itself is a great shape and she loves putting her little hands on it and kind of whacking it. While I think she’d love to be able to hold it herself, it is too large and too heavy – especially when ... MoreI received a 3 pack of 11 ounce Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles with Natural Response Nipple (clear) through the Stellar Testing Panel. While I think she’d love to be able to hold it herself, it is too large and too heavy – especially when full of liquid – for her to do that and/or to tip it up and into her mouth on her own. No problem, I like helping her, but it’s definitely large. From my perspective, it’s comfortable to hold and I like the design. We started with a 3M+ nipple and that was a no go. It was much too slow and all she wanted to do was chew the nipple and play with the bottle. There was no real drinking happening. No leaking either, which was terrific, but overall not the right fit. When I tried a 6M+ nipple, though, she actually would suck and drink and breathe, just like nursing, and that was awesome! I wonder how the original nipple would have worked if we’d tried earlier/when she was younger, but I was happy to have the option of a different flow and grateful that it has worked.I’ve found the bottles very easy to assemble and clean. Easy to twist the top on, to take the nipple out, pop everything in the dishwasher. Nothing fussy about this bottle and its components, which I appreciate since I’m taking care of 3 little kids and ease is huge.Overall, would recommend with the caveat that it can be kind of heavy.

Very easy to clean

I want to start by saying that babies and bottles are REALLY HARD to rate. Each baby is different, and their preferences on milk flow, nipple shape, etc are all different. Add in breastfed babies who are used to different nipple shapes and it's even more difficult. I ultimately found that my 8-month-old would drink from these bottles but still seemed to prefer her other bottles. However, it's hard to say if that's because she didn't care for these bottles as much or because she is used to the other kind of bottle/nipple. My first baby would take any bottle, nipple, etc. She didn't have a preference and used a variety of different bottles over her first year and a half, including these Avent bottles which helped tremendously with gas. My first baby would take any bottle, nipple, etc. She didn't have a preference and used a variety of different bottles over her first year and a half, including these Avent bottles which helped tremendously with gas. However, my second baby is much more particular about what she will take. She drank from these bottles just fine but I noticed the more rounded nipple was causing her to stop more often than her other bottle. I wish she had liked these Avent bottles more because they are so much easier to clean and dry than our current brand. I felt the nipple size we had was the perfect flow for her and I'm still hoping that if I put these in the rotation more often, she will come to like them more. I did notice she was slower to drink from these but that could be because this bottle allows your baby to have more control over the pace of the feeding. Ultimately, I would recommend these bottles to new moms but I would also mention to them that every baby is different and some will prefer one type over another. I am thankful to the stellar product testing panel for allowing us to try the product.
