I thought the kettle was quite trendy, and it is not only attractive but also environmentally beneficial. When I first received it, I assumed it would smell like oil, but it did not. I enjoy the sleek style of this kettle, as well as the beautiful texture of the plastic and the white indicator light. But there are some concerns with the kettle as well. Inside the kettle is a rod that acts as a temperature sensor. The issue is that if you put around 1 cup of water in and leave the lid open, it will continue to boil for an extended period of time. When you remove the cap, the steam suffocates your hand. I believe it is too costly at £40 since it’s basically just cheap kettle technology in a good looking body. Also, because the water level indicator is small, it makes ... MoreI thought the kettle was quite trendy, and it is not only attractive but also environmentally beneficial. This is a co-review in partnership with my Mother. Much like an engineer and architect, we had two different priorities when it came to valuing this kettle. It takes just under two minutes to boil 4 cups of water, and does it with little to no sound which is particularly important for someone who can have a tea at any and all times of the day I very much need things to be aesthetically pleasing and sympathetic to its surroundings. Compared to designer models available on the market, the Philips Eco Conscious is a strong competitor on your countertop. In a neutral warm tone, it is sleek and stylish without too much faff. An example of this is the contrasting wood-tone top which is completely removable allowing for easier re-fill access. My mother, having had more experience in buying and using multiple kettles was quick to note the size of the kettle and the cord length. I would suggest the Eco Conscious to be more than suitable size for an average family, it is large enough to supply everyone while not being too bulky and taking too much room. It is also has a decent length cord providing you with flexibility to move should you need it but it does also include on board cord storage so wires can be kept neatly. Overall a very very good kettle. My only cons were you need to make sure the lid, which is completely removable, has clicked back into place. Otherwise it can take longer to boil and/or leak. Also as a personal preference, I like a narrower sprout for pouring. Also after 3 weeks of use, it already needs descaling. Doesn't bother me too much but worth noting.

The breakfast set has a simple and uniform design fitting the atmosphere of my kitchen quite well. The design means it takes up minimal space whilst maintaining a cohesive theme. The kettle can boil large volumes relatively fast, gets the water hot and has a quiet operation. The toaster has two slots and 8 settings for toasting. There is also a burn rack I have used from time to time to warm up pastries in the morning which I feel is quite useful. As for the coffee maker, it has a decently large capacity, holding 1.2L, but requires a filter to use as it is not provided. I have not experienced any spillage due to the drip stop feature which i found especially helpful when it comes to keeping things clean. Overall, this set operates well and looks clean whilst being ... MoreThe breakfast set has a simple and uniform design fitting the atmosphere of my kitchen quite well. The kettle has a serious fault. The kettle has a faulty switch mechanism which means it is constantly in a 'half-on' state which results in a buzzing noise and constant electric usage. The faulty switch also flicks off mid-way through boiling water. I can see from other online reviews other users have the same issues. I initially requested an exchange due to this fault and was told to throw the kettle away. 2 weeks later I called Philips up and was told I now need to return the kettle at my own expense to get a refund. The whole returns process has been ridiculous and I would have thought given the seriousness of the issue they would be bending over backwards to get the kettle back off me and refund me. Any other large retailer would have had this sorted by now.
was lucky to get this Eco Conscious Edition Breakfast Set. It is made of 100% Bio-based plastic, which means it is recyclable and is safe for the planet. In just 2 minutes we have hot and crispy toast which my family loves for breakfast. The kettle has a flat heating element, a capacity of 1.7 liters, a water level with a cup indicator and an anti-limescale filter. The automatic shutdown turns off the kettle when the water is ready so quickly and easily. I am a coffee lover so this filter coffee maker is definitely for me, I have fresh and hot coffee all day long. Aroma twister with great taste and rich aroma. Modern and minimalist arrangements look fantastic in my kitchen and I really love them. I would highly recommend.
The kettle functions as expected, is well made and sturdy overall - the handle feels especially robust and is shaped ergonomically. The design of the kettle has a minimalist vibe which I like, and the wooden effect on the lid fits well with the eco-conscious theme of the product range. Features wise, I like that the capacity indicator is discreetly tucked behind the handle so the kettle looks minimalist. It's also clear to read when holding the kettle with either left or right hand because of its positioning. The kettle boils fast enough and I like that the lid comes off completely, as this makes cleaning inside much easier than kettles with a flip style but attached lid. One drawback is that sometimes the light indicator can be hard to read in a bright room as the ... MoreThe kettle functions as expected, is well made and sturdy overall - the handle feels especially robust and is shaped ergonomically. Pros: I love the feel, easy cleaning, so quiet, books fast, no leaks, drips. It is easy to pick up, I have arthritis so light weight, as I fill it up to the point I need to make a few cups of tea. Therefore not wasting water, electricity over boiling water. Its colouring is simple, matt, not shiny, it won't peal away, get full of limescale like my old metal and enamel paint one had. Cons: The handle design not my favourite. The matt metal strip fine, but the weird overly complicated top part ruins the simple look. Had that been designed better it would have a retro vibe with a eco modern twist I like its sturdy width weight to pick up but the look ugly. I try to not let it ruin the great points, but I cannot say I love the look as forever redesigning handle in my head
This is a beautiful kettle, super smooth finish and feels so luxurious. It’s lightweight and very easy to use.. boils water in seconds saving me so much time at breakfast time so I have a few more minutes to drink a cup of coffee before taking my Kids to school . Cleans easily and it’s a perfect compact size so it won’t take much space in your kitchen. The colour the feel the performance is on another level . Absolutely amazing . Looks absolutely gorgeous and compliments my kitchen so well .. I would highly recommend this.
Ordered this kettle after enjoying using a Phillips model for many years and which now has a broken filter. When it arrived the look of it is very nice and it's lightweight and quiet like the old model. But the lid, instead of an easy pull open , is so stiff to get off ( and push back on ) that it makes the kettle really annoying to use. Other members of the family found it similarly difficult and wondered why product ease of use had not been tested. The lid requires really strong hands and tugging to open it, I can imagine if the kettle is full of boiling water it would splash out with the pulling , and could cause injury. So reluctantly I'm sending the kettle back
I chose to rate this product 5 star because it genuinely is very perfect overall! Great for any kitchen that fits white colours or for anyone wanting to be more eco friendly! It fits up to 8 cups which is plenty! Flicks on very nicely and boils SO quietly! Which is what I love as previously I had such a loud kettle!! Haha. Big handle and has a very nice eco look and feel to it, if that makes sense? You know it’s eco friendly!! Haha it has that smooth feel! Great product!!
