These are absolutely amazing and versatile lights that have totally transformed my yard at night... Had so many complements on how good they look! Service from Simply-LEDs is as awesome as ever. Fast, and the best price out there. Highly recommend!

We love our outdoor light so much. They've made a massive difference to our outside space both in terms of ambience and feeling of safety in the evenings. The lights and cables are really strong and sturdy, the set up was simple and the app to control the lights is super easy to use. Really impressed.

This XL Smart light is a great addition to my garden lighting and looks really effective as a spotlight for my Magnolia tree. I already have other Philips Hue Garden lights and I've been impressed with the light this one emits as it is noticeably brighter. It's also sturdy, well made and looking at it I would imagine it will wear well outside. In terms of set up it was relatively straightforward, although already being familiar with other Philips Hue definitely helped. It's well worth using the Philips Hue app with this product as it really elevates the possibilities with different lights for different moods. I am very impressed with this product (see photos) as it really creates the desired affect and I would recommend it to anyone looking to achieve.

The lights are bright and seem sturdy enough. They default back to white for 10 days in a row with my checking the programming each time they do not turn on to the colors I preselected. Need to be more user friendly. Takes a very long time to go through the various levels of the HUE app to get what you want.
It is well designed and manufactured. The overall engineering quality is according to the quite hefty price tag North of $100. What is a little disappointing are two things: first of all, its NOT a spot. Its a flood light providing a relatively broad angle of light and the light is quite evenly distributed. The milky screen gives the light a good Wash. Overall it is quite bright, at least if you use very light colors. When you use deep blue, green or red, the light is pretty dim. So if you were hoping to set precise accents- this is not the product. If you want to bath a whole area in a certain hue, this is the right product.
Great upgrade from the original flood lights. Impressive brightness and coverage! Anyone talking about power supply, you just need to do a little research. No, this does not come with a power supply. Yes, you must also have an existing power supply. These flood lights use 15 watts. Most of their older power supplies can only hold 40 watts ( they are making a 100 watt supply) you must not hook up too many lights that exceed your power supply capacity.
I've been redoing the backyard landscape lights progressively add Lilly's one at a time. The first thing I did was to buy a more powerful transformer so I could string more than 5 at a time... Once I figured that out I started adding lights one at a time. For the most part the Lilly's are fine but in one spot I have a really big flowering bush.. So I needed something stronger /brighter... The xl is exactly that... Just a Lilly but brighter... Now the price is insane and you should wait to get them refurbished or on sale... I can't justify the cost.. But they are nice
so I'm a very loyal Philips Hue customer from the very beginning when they came out with the very 1st generation color ambiance bulbs. I own most of their Philips Hue product lines - at least 75% of every item they ever came out with. I have a few of the original, smaller Lily spotlights and was really looking forward to bring home the XL spotlights to accent some of the large oak and maple trees in my yard... But I am so disappointed and don't understand why Philips decided to release the "Extension Version" for Lily XL spotlight when the "Base Unit Version" of this spotlight has not yet been released. Unknowingly, I ordered four of these from my local store only to find out after I took them home that they were the extension version (which did not include the power cords) and that the Base Unit XL Spotlights were not available anywhere. So If Philips wanted to upset their loyal customers then this was a good way to do it. From a product development and product release standpoint - this was an epic fail and I'm truly disappointed.
The extra large, outdoor spotlight does a great job on the large backyard trees. The contrast adds ‘depth’ to the to the existing backyard lighting. I am I Pressed by Simply-leds; I made a relatively large order online and arrived at my door two days later! Won’t be buying at dearer prices from the big chain stores anymore.
I purchase one base light, one extension light, and a couple of low voltage extension cords. One light we placed to light up a dark side of the house, and the extension light we mounted on a permeter and aimed it on a front corner of the house. The low voltage system that Hue Lily uses is a winner because it allows an inexperienced DIYer to install a system that rivals a 120 volt system that would have been installed by a licensed electrician. My house, built 2007, has about 5 outdoor electrical outlets spread around the exterior perimeter. So it was a cinch to make my two Lily lights into a system that needed only one plug. I tapped a plug about 20 feet from the first light.
