Bought this light tube to use as a wall wash of color and not for a TV set up. When in standard white the tube was bright, but moving over to gradient color the tube was very dim and not the stated lumes. I have play bars and blooms that were brighter and filled the wall up with more color then this tube that was supposed to be more than double the brightness. Returned this tube and purchased the gradient lightstrip which was more brighter and $ 40 cheaper. This was the first hue product I was disappointed with.

This product it’s a must buy if you already have the strip behind the tv! I would also say this the tube is still wonderful by itself. Sorry but my pictures don’t give this product it’s actual in person effect trust me it’s way better.
I bought this a week ago and it’s one of the great products I have purchased. It’s very easy to setup and only take about 5 minutes. I’m using play gradient light-strip, Gradient light tube and 2 play bars and they look perfect.
This is a perfect setup to have a proper ambiance in any room of your house - a pleasure the eye and relax in the long evening listening sessions or energized an shiny mornings. My one and only choice for home lightning :)

The tube itself is black aluminium. Sturdy and solid. The tube operates just like any other Hue smart light but can display several colours (‘gradients’) at once (selectable via the Hue app) and looks especially nice with the dynamic scenes feature where colours glide across the tube. In ‘Hue Sync Mode’ the tube splits into 3 colour segments exactly like the top section of the Hue Play TV Gradient Lightstrip.The tube can be rotated via the two non-slip end feet so the light output can be directed up or down without generating any glare while viewing the TV. Placement wise it can be fixed to a wall or placed on its feet below a TV for instance on a TV cabinet or similar.Hue offers a multitude of location placement settings via the ‘Hue Entertainment Area’ configuration screen of the app for example lying flat, parallel, perpendicular, standing up and more.It is worth mentioning the ‘Philips Hue Bluetooth Gradient Ambient Lightstrip 2m’ could also be considered. Waited many months to finally get a email saying it’s available for purchase so of course I jumped on it to add on to my living movie theater light show. I have the 75” gradient tv light gradient table and floor lamp four bar lights on bottom part of tv two more bar light on side walls and placed my new gradient tube on top of entertainment unit. Don’t get me wrong the light works well with sync box but it’s not as bright as they show here on site. If you have the money and willing to add a little more ambient lighting I say get it but if your expecting a bright sync light stay away
