These bulbs are amazing!They were very simple to install and set up to work via the Hue app.We can now operate the lamps remotely which for us is of huge help when settling our small children at night as they don't need to be disturbed by us entering their rooms to lower the light level. Also they have been brilliant when we have been away for the night as we could put the lights on and off as though we were at home which is a really useful safety feature.The light is cool and bright without being garish and is perfect for reading at full level and lovely and soft when dimmed.We have already purchase a set of these bulbs for my elderly father so he is able to switch lights on and off remotely without the need to get up which is brilliant as he has limited ... As a single bulb, this allows you to control it via the Hue app. I'm using this to dim a floor lamp which was previously only on/off. It's also handy to tune it to a warm or cool light depending on the mood / time of day.Being able to change the colour is fun, but a bit gimmicky. I'm not sure we'll be changing colours that often.The real clever stuff happens when these bulbs are integrated into the rest of the home - through automations. On its own, the bulb doesn't integrate with the rest of my smart home setup (Apple HomeKit, Hive). For that, I need the Hue Bridge. So on its own, the bulb is of limited value, as it can only be controlled through the app.But if you're adding this to an existing set up, and you need an extra bulb, then this is for you!

Super simple to set up. It took moments once the app had been downloaded. The app is very easy to use. Quality of light is good and you can easily set a soft tone or add on more light for reading & computer work.If you need or want a colour changing bulb it is good. Better than the cheap one we have else where in the house.
If you want complete control over your lights, including colour and brightness then these are the bulbs for you.I already have the Philips Hue Bridge and app and love the sheer range of these products. They can also be controlled by Google Hub, & I believe Alexa. You can set them to come on & turn off automatically each day at a specified time. I like that I can adjust the colours to reflect my mood and crest ambience.I'm a big fan of interior design and can use these to tie together my colour schemes.

My infant son really likes different colour lights so putting this in my lamp has been a game changer. Installation is easy and the app is simple to use. However what makes this even better is it's compatibility with alexa smart devices. With a few taps on the app and some commands to my echo dot the bulbs were paired and I could control on/off, intensity and colour with my voice. This has improved my setup immensely and I'm already looking at other hue devices for around the house.
Replace a normal light bulb with one of these, down-load the app to your phone (or pay extra for the bridge to connect it to Alexa or similar) and you can 'dial-up' any conceivable colour of light. Its super easy to do, and does indeed enable you to create various ambiances, but husband and I got bored of this game quite quickly and stopped bothering. However, our 25 year old daughter then took possession and loves them. She's installed 2 bulbs in the living room of a shared rental flat, and reports she's found a shade of white that makes the walls look much cleaner(!), and the many varieties of colours are very useful for entertaining. So we have a satisfied customer.
Used the lightbulbs in a couple of lamps in our living room. The app was really easy to download and really intuitive to set the whole thing up. Didn't take long at all.The lamps are now much more versatile than they were before and you can choose from some pre-loaded options on the amp to generate different results for relaxing or doing something more active like reading or studying where you need a brighter light.If you don't like any of those options then it's really easy to manipulate it yourself and turn it on and off, brighter or dimmer.
I'm really impressed by this product and how easy it was to set up. I have a Google Nest Mini and it was very simple to connect via Bluetooth straight out of the box. The only downside I'd say is that it can't be connected directly to the Apple HomePod, you'll need the bridge for this. I love the colour choices and the dimming capabilities, especially at night when trying to drift off to sleep. It's nice being able to voice command the lights to dim whilst lying in bed without having to leave the duvet.I would recommend downloading the Phillips Hue App with this as it gives you more control over colour settings and brightness levels. You can also add presets in the app which I found pretty useful when wanting different types of light at different times of the day ... Warm and less bright at night, Or a bright white light when I', trying to look for something. I'm slightly surprised that the energy efficiency is not that great on this product considering it is LED. Perhaps that is something that can be brought down in the future. Will definitely be buying more of these and considering getting the bridge too to connect with Apple devices.
