When I was comparing the cost of Philips Hue against competitors such as Xiaomi, Yeelight, LIFX, and others, I took into consideration that the lifespan of the light bulb is up to 25 years, as advertised on Philips website.My bulb has stopped working after barely 3.5 years, which is very far from their claim.I reached out to their Customer Service and they said that the warranty has passed (2 years), and that even though the light bulb has lived up to MY expectation, it's within the lifespan they have advertised (up to 25 years, meaning from 0 to 25).Be very careful when choosing this product and take into consideration that the lifespan may be anywhere from 2 to 4 years.

The lights are really great and have great colours and brightness. However they can be slow to connect with the app, maybe they are better if you use HUE Bridge which is another product sold by PHILIPS. I also find they take a solid half second to turn on when flicking the wall switch. There is a noticeable delay between flicking the switch and the light turning on. Not a huge issue but something to get used to. Overall a nice, high quality product. It's also worth mentioning they are plug and play, just install them and download the app and you are ready to go, they may need updating which takes a few minutes but after that they are good to go.

These Hue bulbs (which I received in a free trial) are great! Considering what these bulbs can do if they last the stated 15,000 hours then they will be good value. They also have a 2 year warranty.The bulbs can produce a white light of between 2000K to 6500K (from very warm to daylight white) and they can also produce a full range of 16 million potential lighting colours that you can choose from. How much power the bulbs consumes and how bright they are depends on the colour you set them at.At 4000K (warm white) the bulb uses 5.7W and produces 350lm of light. At 2700K (very warm white) the bulb uses 4.3W and produces 250lm of light. For coloured lighting the lumens produced will be even less.Overall I think Philips produces some of the best and most reliable LED bulbs. And with the Hue range of lighting products and accessories you have the ability to control all aspects of your home lighting to make it personalised to you.
The lights were really easy to set up using the Phillips Hue Bluetooth app and have a full spectrum of colours and brightnesses. We have ours set up in the bathroom and nursery so we can dim and colour the lights in the evening to reduce blue light exposure.Using the app there are a limited range of additional routines which you can programme the bulbs to follow - wake-up, go to sleep, flash for alarms and scenes. For a wider range of control options we connected the bulbs with our Alexa (again very easy) which had a wide range of integrated functions.Overall, this is a great addition to a smart home setup (e.g. Alexa, motion sensors, Phillips Hue Bridge) but is a little pricey for the functionality you get with the standalone product.

Hue bulbs are the best. So easy to use and set up. You don't even need to input the serial numbers, just search and it finds them all and blinks with each new one. Can set them up individually, as a room and a zone. Can all be set to different brightness and colour. We have them all over the house in lamps, wall lights, outside light and have just put 12 of these in our new kitchen. Great for accessing remotely too, so the lights are on when you come home, or are away. Would thoroughly recommend.
