I'm old school. Although an early adopter, I tend towards brands with established records for quality, performance & reliability. I have always had to be thrifty & now more-so, for I am a pensioner of fixed & low income. So, after my all-in-one computer was blown up by lightning, I switched to separate box & spent around a month reviewing monitors that would do it justice. I have only one good eye and do much database work so I need clarity & screen real-estate. I can't abide fiddly, awkward or ugly design and won't waste the little money I have on cheaply made products built down to a price. So, I'm pleased. I discovered the Philips V Line monitor and found that not only did it perform as well or better than more highly priced competitors but it is also elegant, aesthetically pleasing, has unobtrusive but accessible controls and a beautifully steady image with clarity & accurate colour rendering. In use, one forgets that the monitor is there as there is nothing to distract from the image on screen and the response is excellent. I don't game but wouldn't expect this monitor to serve serious gamers well but then, that is not what it is designed to do. However, without hesitation I recommend it to any computer user wanting a general purpose monitor for home or business use that is neither too large for a common desk nor too small for viewing multiple windows or watching a video or film.

No regrets on purchasing this monitor. Understanding that it is a FHD monitor, it doesn't have the sharpness that you'd find with, for instance, a Mac Retina display. For my purposes, which is mostly for word processing, this was an affordable choice that's attractive and has some good features. The blue light reduction feature is handy, and the speakers sound very good. The selection of input ports on the back is sufficient. Fairly priced and seems like a unit that will provide for quite a while.

Price vs options, this monitor is a must have, how many monitors have built in speakers for a start? Yeah that's right! Not many! Installation was a breeze and image quality, being an IPS panel is brilliant. Colours are vibrant and the contrast levels exceptional. I have used this to play some games and find that there is no latency concerns with screen response time. Originally bought for my studies, due to having easy reading mode (Again brilliant job Philips!) I no longer have eye strain after hours of long typing and reading! The white colour suits the rest of my white rig and peripherals perfectly!

I have had this monitor for about 2+ years. As I already had 2 monitors and only needed 1 more for a triple monitor setup. I decided to buy another one because I thought it was just fine. After having finished it set up and tested it to be working fine, I slightly moved the monitor by touching the plastic, and it straight up broke... And they would not repair it under warranty because it is said to be a mechanical failure and it's my fault. Having ordered a 3rd one, because they wouldn't even offer repair and it's the cheapest monitor I could get, I am hoping that this one doesn't just break...
The monitor had no reviews, but the price was very attractive and I've never had issues with Phillips products so I purchased it for delivery. It arrived on time, and was easy to setup in just a few minutes. The picture quality is excellent. Bright, sharp and with the stated resolution. I've been using it for 2 weeks and have no complaints about the electronics. The monitor has connections for hdmi, vga, and display port, also 3.5mm audio. The online description and user guide didn't mention what cables were provided. I was pleasantly surprised to find hdmi, vga, and audio cables in the box. While the electronics are great, they skimped on the monitor stand. The height is not adjustable, but the viewing angle is. The stand is flimsy and if the table shakes even a little the monitor wobbles. I added vertical supports to improve the mechanical stability. It's fine. Unrelated to the monitor, I was surprised the shipping container was the monitor box. It had a big picture of the monitor for all passers by to see and contemplate taking it home with them. Fortunately the shelter-at-home policy was in place and my home office looks out to the street. I saw the delivery man leave it at my front door and brought it inside immediately.
I bought this as a external monitor for my laptop. I used it mainly for document work (e.g. word processor, spreadsheet, email and slides) and not for gaming. My review will be based on my usage. For this price (~$150), the monitor is excellent and I strongly recommend it. It is big enough to display 3 columns of information on the email system for easy reading. The screen is non-reflective which is very comfortable on the eye especially on prolonged usage. I especially like the LowBlue mode which makes the screen looks paper-like. This further reduces the strain on the eye. It is also VESA compatible so I can use it with a monitor arm. This helps to free up space on the table and bring the monitor to eye level.
I've had this monitor for few days now, and overall it's fine. As soon as I opened the box I didn't have a great feeling with the item. We chose it as it looked amazingly from the pictures, but the plastic actually does not seem that solid/nice. But it's very slim compared to other monitors which is still nice. The stand is the things that looks more ugly, not very stable (if the table moves the monitor is really shaky) and is not very adjustable (you can change a bit the inclination of few degrees but not put the monitor higher or lower). The thing that I like the most is how the image feels. It seems like reading from a book rather than from a monitor with a source of light. It really does not make my eyes tired. I guess it won't be great for things like gaming ... MoreI've had this monitor for few days now, and overall it's fine. As soon as I opened the box I didn't have a great feeling with the item. The thing that I like the most is how the image feels. It seems like reading from a book rather than from a monitor with a source of light. It really does not make my eyes tired. I guess it won't be great for things like gaming but very good for people who work with it and read a lot from the monitor. A weird thing on colours like blue I can actually see individual pixels. It doesn't bother me but I haven't noticed this on monitors in a very long while. A thing that disappointed me a bit is the quality of the speakers. I thought that 2x2W high quality speakers would sound better. But it definitely sounds much worse than my laptop (high quality) speakers. It just feels like coming from one of these very very cheap speakers that are loud enough but there's just not enough depth/quality in the sound. Finally it said that was coming with an HDMI cable, but instead it came with an old SVGA cable. Little bit annoyed by that and I had to use a spare HDMI that I had.
The monitor is a great item for a product which is less than $100. The display is crisp and the 75hz refresh rate is a great addon. The monitor is perfect except for the big black bars around the display. After research it was found that this was over scan but after navigation around the monitors menus, the over scan feature was blacked out. All the drivers were installed and i have tried every solution in the internet but no fix. This a a big downside and is very painful.
May bee too bright, not easy to set blend to eyes but after hard setting job, better. Need not so much brightness on desk. May be va-panel is more eye-friendly than ips-panel via color-temperature. Anyway, good panel, stable and colourful picture. Energy consumption of these 2 panel 24 and 27" is less than 23,6" tn-panel 2010 (is now abandoned under this v243). It used 51W, these uses 42W .. That is great too. May be my eyes get used with these new bright panels after old one. I chosed Philips because warrant time and quality is known and Philips is good in display technology, my philips panel-TV still working after 10,5 year without repairs **pfl5604**.
The screen has no front protection whatsoever. Therefore, you have to touch the LCD panel to adjust the angle of view of the monitor. At the same time, you can see how the edge of the panel easily bends under the fingers without any support. In my case, even a light touch of female fingers was enough for an edge crack to appear. Obvious, the damage was not my fault but the result of a technological flaw of the manufacturer. However, Service Center uses a pre-made response in order to avoid their responsibility and deny the warranty.
