I have found the hair Clipper gives a nice close cut with a minimum of effort. It is lightweight, easy to hold and manoeuvre which ensures a tidy cut with minimal fuss. It also a good battery life of one charge, ideal for unplanned haircuts. My only drawback is that hair does accumulate under the cutting blade which needs frequent removal. Also when you clean the blade after a cut, not all the fine hair can be removed from within the blade mechanism which can be frustrating.

I have owned a succession of hair clippers, some corded, some cordless, various brands including Philips. None have really 'cut the mustard'. All seemed to be toys compared with the tools that professional barbers use. My last, a corded heavyweight item, was temperamental and finally failed completely.Reluctantly tried once more, this good-looking Philips unit, and couldn't be more delighted - it's a revelation in use. Easy to set cutting length, it cuts to the right length in one go, no need for multiple passes. And the cut hair falls away, doesn't clog the blades or combs. Brilliant design.

After reading a poor review due to the different shape of these clippers, I was apprehensive on purchasing but have not regretted buying. I find the clipper shape is great when cutting hair and no issues when trimming beard either. Cutting is clean and thorough with no snagging like my old cheap clippers. Self sharpening is great and super easy to remove parts for thorough cleaning. Cordless clipping is great, not having to cut hair close to power point and after many years IF the battery gives up then I can still use clipper on power cord. By far the best feature is built in comb depth guide. The short comb stays on the clippers and I just adjust between 3 for Beard and 6 for hair! Perfect! I’ve been clipping my own hair and beard for 20 years, so I’ve been through a ton of trimmers. This one is a game changer. Not only does it cut my hair clipping time in half, it does a much more thorough job. And in the past I’ve always had to “dig in” so hard that it would drive little hairs into my scalp and cause sores. But this clipper has a feather touch. You barely have to press at all for it to give a clean cut.And the adjustable guards are the best ever. You can use one guard for a wide range of lengths with the turn of a dial. It’s just the best I’ve ever used in my life by a very wide margin. I will NEVER use another clipper/trimmer for the rest of my life. They’ve made a forever customer out of me for sure! Bought this product to replace the more expensive £100 model (which they wouldn’t / couldn’t repair) so based on the lower cost I thought I’d buy another Philips model. They have a misleading description that claims you can cut from 28 length settings (0.5–28 mm) this is totally misleading the consumer.What they don’t tell you is that you cannot cut the cutting lengths of 1mm and 1.5mm, x2 of the most popular cutting lengths. I don’t know what product misses these key cutting lengths but it makes these set of clippers utterly useless. They should put a warning on the description
