Performance:ExcellentQuality:ExcellentI received this headphone at 6th of February of this year (2023) after purchase on the 2nd of said month. The product was - to my surprise - sent quickly to my address, despite Shopee initially told me this headphone would be sent at the end of this month (at the 4th Feb., Shopee updated the receive date to Wednesday, 7th Feb.). Props to the shop for sending it quickly. The package upon receiving it was liberally wrapped with around 3 ft of bubble wrap from the seller, which helped cushion the product inside against potential damage from shipping via courier. Nice one from the seller.Just an excellent, well-designed headphone with excellent sound for its price. These have to be the best headphones in terms of value, beating other models that cost twice this product's MSRP easily. Not only are they a really good price that undercuts all the competition, the replaceable cable, durable construction, and nonproprietary cable make this a phenomenal pair of headphones. The audio quality is amazing, better than most headphones under $300, with nice neutral sounds that are a great entry for beginners. If it weren't for these headphones, I wouldn't be so insistent on phones with 3.5mm audio ports. If you have only used low end wired/wireless audio equipment, these are an impressive upgrade that I can recommend to almost everyone. Only those who already have much more expensive headphones, or those who insist on wireless, won't be ... MoreThese have to be the best headphones in terms of value, beating other models that cost twice this product's MSRP easily. I bought these myself for $50 4 years ago, and I don't regret the purchase in the slightest. I just wish the other Philips headphones weren't worse than these despite costing more. Despite a similar name, the SHP9600 are completely different and much worse in my opinion.

After a lot of research through online reviews and YouTube videos i bought these based on what I required them for. Listening to musical instruments as they were recorded. That doesn't necessarily mean I was looking for good sounding headphones (which the SHP 9500 are in my opinion)Putting this on for the first time my impressions were meh (which i attribute to years of listening to non reference audio). I felt they are just mediocre sounding headphones . However, after giving it a few more listens, mostly to the music that i have grown up listening to, I felt that i may have heard them incorrectly all my life. I used a DAC and was listening to lossless (Apple Music) which i give credit to too as well for the incredible performance of these cans. Listening to Dark side of the Moon on these headphones (through the set up i mentioned above) is a revelation (or may be just another perspective on how music should sound). I would like to reiterate it's not about how they sound but how they made me feel when I am listening to the sounds. I could clearly understand how a recording is mastered (manipulated) by the engineer to sound a certain way so that the music has the desired impact. Music recorded before the 90's have a certain quality you would notice through these headphones and you would want to listen to more of music from that era to really enjoy them (Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rush etc).I am able to listen to these headphones for more than what is recommended since the accuracy of the sound causes less fatigue and the design helps too. The soundstage sometimes makes me smile.I would highly recommend these headphones for people who are looking for accurate sounds that not necessarily "sound good". Definitely not meant for bassheads!!

The sound quality is clear and precise. not too bassy but it has a decent punch to it. the open design allows hearing your surroundings at moderate volume levels. but keep in mind that if you pump up the volume the sound leaks clearly to your surroundings so bear that in mind. It's light and the materials feel nice for the price point. although the hinges seem like a likely breaking point if used roughly. the ear cups are a bit shallow and your ears might touch the drivers but they are covered by a soft fabric that makes them not uncomfortable. (this can be replaced easily for aftermarket ones if you wish). comes with a 10ft or 3mts rubberized 3.5mm cable with a silver branded tip on one side and a black one on the other and it comes with a 6.3mm adapter. mine came ... MoreThe sound quality is clear and precise. not too bassy but it has a decent punch to it. the open design allows hearing your surroundings at moderate volume levels. but keep in mind that if you pump up the volume the sound leaks clearly to your surroundings so bear that in mind. Like a lot of folks I have owned many headphones over the years.Few last long. They usually break down at the plug (most of my Sony headphones), or the cap which often breaks (Bose). My first pair of these broke on the cap, or the wire within broke, giving me sound only on the right... but it seemed to last longer than any other brand I've had. This is a comfortable pair, I often like to wear it falling to sleep. So these headphones are a compromise.I like the comfort. I like sound quality. I like the side plug.It is sturdy. It does seem a bit too expensive. My first pair cost substantially less than my second pair.Delivery and service from B&H was excellent as usual.
One of the best entry-level audiophile headphones available. The sound quality to cost ratio is high; for just $50+ you get a set of headphones you'll probably keep long after you've upgraded to more expensive ones along your audiophile journey (yes, they're that good sounding and that comfortable). Most agree the SHP9500 is one of the most comfortable open-back headphones ever made. A 3.5 plug cable may be the best way to connect headphones to a source; Philips knows this but unlike many other headphone companies actually uses it. Those are all pros for the SHP9500. The only potential con: treble stridence. For instance, coming from Sennheiser HD600s, you'll find the treble overdone. Most people acclimate to this in a short time and come to welcome the added ... MoreOne of the best entry-level audiophile headphones available. Disclaimer: not a sound connoisseur. I chose these headphones because they got good reviews here, were not insanely expensive, and had a long cord for TV watching. Once you filter the headphone search parameters for longer cord lengths the choices are greatly reduced. I am quite happy with these: good sound and comfy. The ear cuff foam lack that flimsy vinyl material other headphones have that end up flaking off. I think these will last a long time. They do run a bit large tho. On the tightest fitting they are still a bit loose, but do not fall off, my head averaged-sized head. Also worth noting is the cord can unplug from the ear cup as well so if the cord gets damaged, I image it can be replaced. An especially handy feature for those of us with nibbling pets.
