It also gives me feedback about my overall quality while brushing, ensuring I don’t miss anything or cause myself sensitivity issues. It has 5 different modes that all have different use cases such as gum care, whitening, and general cleaning. Included with it are 6 different brush heads, 3 different types for brushing and one for tongue cleaning. It also has a charging stand and a travel case that can also charge with a hidden usb cable. The app is very useful, automatically syncing up with the brush as soon as you pull off off the charger and once you select on the handle the type of clean you want the app will guide you through your brushing and give you realtime feedback as you go. It saves your sessions and gives you a history you can look through to see what you can do better. It also keeps track of your usage with specific brush heads so you know when they should be replaced. It’s very intuitive and I really like the features it offers. This toothbrush has been extraordinary so far and even life changing to an extent for me making sure that I don’t hurt my gums but still get a quality clean every day. The app is a great tool and not a gimmick as I feared, and it is a super high-quality brush that is truly worth the investment. I am so happy with this toothbrush and surprised and what a difference it has made for me, and I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s a really cool experience and I believe it’s improved my oral health by making me more conscious of my brushing routine. The toothbrush comes as a kit with multiple brush heads, a tongue brush, charging base, glass holder and plastic stand, charging travel case and the owner's guide. There is also a well designed and helpful welcome card to get you started. The first thing you do, after unpacking the brush and accessories, is download the Sonicare app and get it connected to your toothbrush. This only took a minute or two and once my phone was connected to the toothbrush, I chose my brush head and started brushing.Brushing with a power toothbrush requires a different technique from what you use with a traditional toothbrush, something I didn’t realize until I started using the Sonicare DiamondClean. The first few days that I used this, I got a lot of feedback from the app and toothbrush handle, that I was applying too much pressure and that I was scrubbing. Since the power toothbrush uses sonic vibrations to clean your teeth, scrubbing is not needed. Instead the owners manual and training videos recommend that you use a gentle back and forth motion as you glide over your teeth to let the brush do all the work. As simple as this sounds, it does take some time to adjust to the new brushing technique. After decades of applying pressure and scrubbing, it’s a hard habit to break. But don’t worry, the brush handle will alert you every time you use too much pressure and the app will provide real-time scrubbing feedback as you follow the BrushPacer and move along each section of your mouth. The BrushPacer is one of the main smart features that works to make sure you brush evenly by dividing your mouth into 6 sections. You can see these sections in the app, and you can monitor your brushing activity, pressure and scrubbing as you brush in real-time. Both the app and the toothbrush handle alert you when to change to the next section. If you aren’t using the app while brushing, you can feel the brief pauses in vibration as you brush, letting you know when to move onto the next section of your mouth. I recommend that you follow the app for the first few days, as you brush, but once you are familiar with how the BrushPacer works, you don’t really need to watch the app while you brush, any longer. Just check the app periodically to monitor your overall brushing routine and performance. The DiamondClean has 5 different brushing modes to try. Using BrushSync technology, your toothbrush will automatically select the optimal mode and intensity based on the brush head you choose. You can also change modes by pressing the mode button before pressing power. Speaking of power, the toothbrush automatically lights up and turns on when you pick it up. Pressing the power button activates the brush head and pressing the mode button, while the brush head is active, changes the intensity. The different modes are basically variations of the BrushPacer feature, using different brush heads. The BrushPacer sections and times change for each mode. The BrushPacer brushing times range from 2 minutes on Clean mode up to 3 minutes and 20 seconds for the Gum health mode. Once your brushing cycle has completed you can spend additional time brushing the chewing surfaces of your teeth and/or your tongue, with the toothbrush powered on or off. I have been doing this myself, since the modes don’t seem to give me enough time to brush the surfaces of my teeth. But I’m sure my technique will change a bit as I become more familiar with the toothbrush.Another cool feature, which uses the BrushSync technology, is that it tracks the usage of each brush head and alerts you when a brush head needs to be replaced. You can even set it up for automatic replacements to be mailed to you with the Smart Reoders program.I love that the charging stand can be used with either the included glass cup or the plastic stand. The glass cup is great for storing your brush and an extra brush head that you swap between, such as the TongueCare+ head. I also appreciate that it’s made of glass and is easy to keep clean. Another great accessory is the charging travel case with integrated USB cord. This stylish little case can hold your handle, two brush heads and has the USB cord built into the bottom so that you never lose it while you're traveling. I think it’s great that Sonicare includes this as it is a must have for anyone who travels.I’ve been using the Premium All-in-One brush head with the Deep Clean+ mode for the past week and my teeth have never felt more clean! I think I’m even starting to see a bit of a difference with my teeth looking just a little more white, which is a great bonus! It took me a few days to master the BrushPacer, but now that I'm familiar with it, brushing has become much easier than the intense scrubbing I used to do. I'm very satisfied with this toothbrush and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their oral health.

I don’t think my mouth has ever felt this clean, even after a dental appointment. From coming with different styles of heads for whatever you are looking for or particular style you like to having different speeds and timing. To get the full advantage of this toothbrush, you want to have the Sonicare app installed and open when you are ready to brush. Then you get a timer and a diagram of a mouth and it monitors your motions. Such as brushing too fast, pushing too hard or not being in a particular section long enough. It is pretty good at knowing at least the inside/outside of the section you are brushing, but it is on you to follow the area as it can’t determine it that much. I certainly had been using my older Sonicare brush too fast compared to the speed of this ... MoreI don’t think my mouth has ever felt this clean, even after a dental appointment. The only downside to using the app is having a good place to keep your phone, because having it on the counter means you have to look down and that can make for some messy brushing. The full collection is a bit overwhelming at first. It comes with 6 brush heads and a tongue brush. It has a charging base, a stand for the charging base, a glass that can also fit on the charging base and a travel case along with the main handle. The main handle feels a bit big to me personally, like it is a lot to handle while brushing your teeth. It also ends up being easy to bump the buttons when you are moving it around and suddenly you are in a different mode. But, it certainly isn’t your average electric toothbrush.Overall this toothbrush system will ensure you are brushing at your best and help get the clean you are looking for. You end up with a few pieces you might not use but from time to time, such as the hard travel case, unless you do travel a fair bit, and the extra heads. But, you get to try out the different head types to find your preference. Personally, I like the A3 All-in-one, but they only included one of those in the set.

I have used electric toothbrushes for many years, and have alternated between Braun models and Phillips models. My current Braun was several years old, so I decided to switch back to a Phillips model, and chose this one.It built very well, with an easy to clean rubberized coating on it, and it came with a very nice USB travel case, and 6 brush heads and a tongue scrapping attachment, that works really well. I especially like the smart brush head feature, that automatically recognizes which brush head you have attached, and sets the brushing program to match the head.I never understood the "glass" that is provided to stand your brush in to charge/store it, but this model also came with a conventional charging "stand", which is what I am using to store/charge it ... MoreI have used electric toothbrushes for many years, and have alternated between Braun models and Phillips models. The only thing that was sadly missing was a holder for the toothbrushes, but I found a nice one on Amazon, so even though at this price point it should have been included, I was ok buying one.If you are not used to the powerful, vibrating cleaning action that you get from Phillips brushes, it will take a few uses for you to get used to, but after awhile, you can feel how clean your mouth is after using it, and, using the tongue cleaning attachment after brushing adds an extra touch of clean to your mouth.I set up the Bluetooth/smart tracking features in the app, but frankly, at this stage of my life, and after having multiple Braun/Phillips tooth brushes, I know exactly how to use these for max effectiveness, but it is nice to have that guidance if you are new to electric toothbrushes. The replacement heads are pricey, but if you can afford to price of entry to this device, the replacement brushes prices shouldnt be that much of a surprise. All in all, its a nice package, and using these types of brushes will definitely keep your mouth alot cleaner that you would be able to achieve from a manual brush!
The Philips Sonicare 9700 is quite possibly the pinnacle of teeth cleaning technology. Swapping heads intelligently switches between different cleaning modes and routines for helping guide you through your clean. There is a wireless charging base which a glass or charging adapter sits on top of. You can either place your toothbrush in the glass to charge or substitute the adapter which allows you to charge your toothbrush completely upright. The toothbrush has a app that you can pair it with to update it and also track and coach your cleaning sessions. This is a smart toothbrush with an array of sensors so it can keep track of it’s position and the force being applied to the head to map out how and where you clean or areas where you might need to give some additional attention to. You can view the history of your cleaning as well as set focus areas (for example areas where you have bleeding gums or potential cavities) in the app so that you are reminded of them when you are brushing your teeth while using the app. The base of the toothbrush flashes purple to let you know too much pressure is being applied and the vibration cues help to pace you cleaning ensuring that every part of your mouth is addressed.Overall, after using clean and gum health heads along with the tongue head I feel like I’m well on my journey to a cleaner mouth. Cool to see technology applied in a way where I can track my mouth cleaning over time while getting active feedback on how I can do a better job. If only I had this when I was younger because it kind of makes brushing your teeth fun again!
The Philips Sonicare 9700 Diamond Clean Smart rechargeable electric toothbrush is far from your basic electric model. It is well built, includes seven brush heads of three unique types. These include a Premium All in one which does Plaque removal, Gum Care and Whitening, a two in one which covers Plaque and Whitening, another which does Plaque Remove and Gum Care, and final a Tongue Care only brush head. Key to this model is the inclusion of connectivity via your mobile device to the toothbrush using the Phillips Sonicare app (iOS and Android). The app provides real time feedback and sectional timing (which haptic feedback) to ensure you effectively brush your teeth. The app informs you when you are using too much pressure or moving too quickly. I found the app handy, and it pointed out some of my long-standing brushing habits which perhaps are not effective as I thought. After going through the brushing regiment, I felt like I had a teeth cleaning, not just a brushing. In addition, the app will let you know when it is time to replace your brush heads as well as tracking your overall brushing habits. The handle is well built and has a Power on/off button, intensity indicator, mode/intensity button, mode indicator (which is a lighted word describing the mode), a brush head replacement reminder, battery indicator and a brushing feedback light along the base of the handle. Also included is a USB-A enabled charging/carrying case, a charging glass (which you can use as a rinsing cup, and a standard charging base. When the handle starts charging it provides both visual and haptic feedback. My thoughts on this smart electric toothbrush…it does have a bunch of bells and whistles, the smart app is not needed but at least initially it did provide me some useful feedback regarding my brush style. I am not sure I will continue to use the app, as it seems a bit of a novelty item. However, if you need to have the best brushing experience, including feedback on your brushing style and effectiveness, this is a desirable model. And for you data nerd, it collect metrics on your brushing sessions, then this is the model for you. On the front of the handle is a battery charge indicator, which provides you a visual indicator of the battery state, an visual indicator of when you need to replace the brush head.Overall, I am happy with this unit and have yet to find anything that I don’t like about it, the inclusion of all the accessories and multiple brush heads are great. As for the brush heads, the top of the line genuine “A3” offering are not the cheapest to replace, depending on how durable and lasting they are you may be in for some sticker shock when it is time to replace them. Although there are other replacement versions you can buy, including the version that just does Plaque and Whitening. I am unsure if non-Phillips brands are compatible with the smart functions.>>> Pros >> Mobile connectivity via Bluetooth >> App that provides you with real time brushing feedback >> Ample supplied brush heads >> included charging accessories, including the stand and brush cup <<< Cons << The electric brush kit is a bit on the pricey side of electric toothbrushes << Consumables (brush heads) can get expensive, will have to see how that works out.
I recently upgraded my 8 year old electric toothbrush to the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 electric toothbrush, and I must say, it has truly opened my eyes to just how bad my oral care was and my over habits were before switching to this and it has completely transformed my tooth brushing ways. The design of the DiamondClean Smart 9700 is very sleek, with a modern, and down right stylish look (I would never have thought I would say that about a toothbrush ha). The build quality is top-notch, with a solid construction that feels durable and well-made. The ergonomic design paired with the matte finish makes it feel great in the hand when brushing and it’s not too heavy so your arm will not get tired when holding it.The DiamondClean comes with two ... MoreI recently upgraded my 8 year old electric toothbrush to the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 electric toothbrush, and I must say, it has truly opened my eyes to just how bad my oral care was and my over habits were before switching to this and it has completely transformed my tooth brushing ways. The design of the DiamondClean Smart 9700 is very sleek, with a modern, and down right stylish look (I would never have thought I would say that about a toothbrush ha). The build quality is top-notch, with a solid construction that feels durable and well-made. The ergonomic design paired with the matte finish makes it feel great in the hand when brushing and it’s not too heavy so your arm will not get tired when holding it.The DiamondClean comes with two wireless charging docks one for your everyday charging at home and then a travel case that holds up to brush heads. The at home charging base comes with two different stands: a glass cup base design and an upright puck design. The glass cup allows you to just place it anywhere in the cup and it will automatically charge the toothbrush. Then with the puck base you just place it straight down into it and stand up vertically like most Electric toothbrushes. You also get six brush heads and one tongue brush, which is very much appreciated considering how much this toothbrush costs, which should get you a year and half before having to buy new Heads.Where the DiamondClean Smart 9700 truly shines is in Its performance and features with their sonic technology while being paired with the Sonicare app (you can download the app from your smartphone's app store). This combo helps effectively remove plaque and stains for a noticeably cleaner and brighter smile. It also delivers powerful yet gentle cleaning action, The brush heads come with a built-in Microchip, where the brush will automatically detect which brush head was attached and it can automatically adjust its speed and motion, based on the selected brushing mode, ensuring the best cleaning results without any guesswork. The integration with the Sonicare app is where the DiamondClean truly shines. So, just open the app, start brushing and the countdown timer along with the visual layout of your teeth will pop up, and just follow what section of teeth it tells you to brush. While you are brushing it will let you know if you are applying too much pressure with a red notification in the middle and once the timer is done, it will let you know if you didn't focus on a particular area of your teeth, and it will inform you to take a couple more seconds on that area. The brush with the app integration step-by-step guild, showed me just how bad my old brushing habits were and how I would rush to brush my teeth and would not focus enough on certain areas. Looking back now I think it’s safe to assume my poor form definitely led to some cavities and poor gum health. I also appreciate the versatility of the DiamondClean Smart 9700, in how it has multiple brushing modes and intensity settings from clean, White+, gum health, deep clean+, and Tongue care.Overall, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 is truly a game-changer in oral care technology. Its powerful cleaning performance, smart sensor technology, and user-friendly features and interface make it the standout choice for anyone who is focused on bettering their oral healthcare. I highly recommend this toothbrush and you will actually look forward to brushing your teeth.Pros:Sleek and stylish design.Smart sensor technology with real-time feedback via the Sonicare app.Multiple brushing modes and intensity settings.Travel charging caseCons:Premium price point may not be suitable for everyone.App connectivity requires a compatible smart device with Bluetooth. Some users may find the brush head replacements to be expensive after the provided ones are used.
I want to first say that this is the best, most versatile toothbrush I’ve ever used - and I’ve owned many Sonicare brushes. And while it comes with lots of features and accessories, it’s expensive (including the toothbrush heads), and in some ways overkill. So I don’t question its use and quality, but its price might not make it for everyone).IN THE BOXThe box is quite frankly, gigantic. Especially knowing it’s a toothbrush. Inside you’ll find a variety of items including a charging base, a glass (for water), 6 toothbrush heads, a tongue scraper head, the base of course, and a travel case that charges your toothbrush. The brush heads serve different purposes, so one is for “whitening”, one is for plaque control, one is for gum care, and you’ll get one tongue ... MoreI want to first say that this is the best, most versatile toothbrush I’ve ever used - and I’ve owned many Sonicare brushes. Inside you’ll find a variety of items including a charging base, a glass (for water), 6 toothbrush heads, a tongue scraper head, the base of course, and a travel case that charges your toothbrush. The brush heads serve different purposes, so one is for “whitening”, one is for plaque control, one is for gum care, and you’ll get one tongue scraper. Other than the scraper which serves an obvious purpose, I’m not sure whether one is really better than the other - sure, the bristles have different shapes and colors, but I’m not convinced the different functions is anything more than marketing. But, I’m also no dentist.A comment about the brush heads, these are “smart” brush heads with little codes on them. For example, the whitening brush head is “W3” and the plaque control is “C3.” The toothbrush handle recognizes which one is installed and automatically picks the appropriate settings. So while I imagine you could, in theory, install offbrand (read cheaper) brush heads, you’ll lose some functionality. To me, that’s worth noting because I know the brush heads can get expensive.USINGAs I’ve said, I’ve used Sonicare toothbrushes for some time. If you’ve never used one and have always used a manual toothbrush, you will immediately notice the difference by how clean and smooth your teeth feel after the first brush. I’ve gotten used to that experience so that feeling is gone, but I can certainly attest that you won’t find a better all around clean with a Sonicare toothbrush (the real question is whether the “Cadillac” smart app version is the one for you).Again, for those uninitiated, all Sonicare brushes and this one is no exception, have a 2 minute timer. So when you turn it on, it will operate for 2 minutes before shutting off automatically.Using a Sonicare brush is a different experience in the sense that you don’t really scrub your teeth like a manual brush, you are simply lightly holding the brush head against your teeth and letting the motor and brush do the work. For this toothbrush, you’ll want to download the app and connect your toothbrush. I’ll skip going over the connection process, it was really simple and guided by the app. But the app is good as a coach and keeping you honest. I’m a bit loathe to continue to buy “smart” versions of everyday items because it ends up being just one more app on my phone. I don’t really go into the app everyday and use the coach, I’ve gotten used to brushing my teeth with one and covering all areas of my teeth. But I can see it being helpful for those with not great brushing habits (I’m not suggesting I have great habits) or getting used to brushing for 2 minutes and making sure you hit all quadrants of your mouth. But the app has a silhouette of your teeth when you're brushing that circles the zone of your teeth and areas you should focus on. It seems to learn from your habits and suggests problem zones (which are just areas you might not have focused on previously). It also tracks your brushing, the number of minutes and whether you’re brushing twice a day. Again, if you already do this it might be superfluous, but for those looking or needing accountability and seeing real time feedback, it can be immensely helpful). When brushing, you can choose from different modes and intensity settings. If you’re a new user you may want to explore what works for you, as it can be a little uncomfortable at first if you are too aggressive and put too much pressure on your teeth (again, you need gentle pressure, the motor and bristles do all the work). But you can choose for white, deep clean, or gum health. I typically use the all-in-one brush for reasons I mentioned above - to me they all seem to accomplish the same mission. But gum health might be best for sum as it is a little more gentle on the gumline. As anecdotal evidence of the effectiveness of Sonicare brushes, I’ve been using a version of them for more than a decade and I’ve never had a cavity - and when I go into dental cleanings, I’m rarely there long, as there’s not much to clean. These brushes do that good a job and the DiamondClean is my favorite so far.ACCESSORIESAs I mentioned, this comes with a glass and charging base. From the promotions it looks like the toothbrush might charge in the glass but that didn’t seem to be the case for me. The glass fits on the charging base, but there’s a separate clear plastic cover that sits on the charging base and the toothbrush stands up inside of it. I’m one to drink directly from the faucet, so I don’t use the glass. The travel case, however, is a great bonus. I’ve traveled for two weeks with a Sonicare brush before and never charged it when I was gone. The battery lasts that long. While I don’t know how long the battery on this model lasts - I’m assuming it’s shorter only because of the smart features, but I don’t know. Since it lives on the charging base when I’m not using it, I always have a charge. But the travel case eliminates any concern about the battery and you don’t have to pack the charging base with you. The case holds the handle and a brush and on the bottom side of it is a flap you can open to reveal a charging port. So you can charge your toothbrush on the go. The only downside, and it’s minor, is that the case is kind of large. It’s not unwieldy, but I wish it were a little bit smaller - I really try to travel very light. But having protection of my toothbrush and being able to charge it on the go outweighs the cons of the size of the case.CONCLUSIONThis is truly the best toothbrush I’ve ever used. It’s quiet, reliable, durable, and feature packed. Honestly, the lower end models are just as good in the brushing department. If this is too expensive for your budget, then go with a cheaper Sonicare. But given that the health of your teeth is so important, if you’ve had any issues at all, it’s worth the money to splurge on the health of your teeth. The coaching on the app is a little much at least for me, but I certainly appreciate what Philips is doing and see how it could benefit some people.
I've been a believer in the Sonicare electric toothbrush for many years - and had the positive dental outcomes to back that up - so when this new model came out, I was intrigued to see what made it better/different than the existing model that was due for a replacement. All the new features seemed interesting, but do they add up to a real difference? The answer, I'm happy to report, is yes they certianly do! This package comes with a lot - 6 brush heads in 3 different types that should keep you brushing for a long time, a tongue cleaner, a travel case and the charging glass in addition to the toothbrush itself. The charging glass is cool - instead of the old plastic charging bases, you get an actual glass (it's even etched with the Philips Sonicare logo) that sits ... MoreI've been a believer in the Sonicare electric toothbrush for many years - and had the positive dental outcomes to back that up - so when this new model came out, I was intrigued to see what made it better/different than the existing model that was due for a replacement. The charging glass is cool - instead of the old plastic charging bases, you get an actual glass (it's even etched with the Philips Sonicare logo) that sits on top of an induction charger, so you can put the toothbrush in the glass to charge like you would a manual one and then wash the glass when it's dirty. It looks much nicer on the counter and is a cool addition. The toothbrush itself works fine on its own with multiple settings and options on the brush but really comes to life when you connect it to your phone via bluetooth (I have an iPhone and it was a VERY easy experience downloading the app and connecting the toothbrush with no manual settings to change). The app allows you not just to see the settings but also tracks your brushing time, telling you where to brush and tracking how you do. It seems quite accurate and also coaches you if you're moving the brush too fast or applying too much/too little pressure with it. In my first brushing, it turns out I missed a spot so it told me at the end to go back and get it which is brilliant. It also asks if you remembered to rinse/floss which are good reminders for positive oral health, and tracks how you do over time as well as reminding you when it's time to change the head on the toothbrush so you don't overuse a worn out brush head. These are great add on features that should really help ensure I'm getting the most out of the toothbrush over time. Now, all that said, at the end of the day this is a Sonicare toothbrush - you still get a great clean for your teeth and should have a happy dentist, but you can get that from the more entry models. Are the extras with this model / package nice? Certainly they are! But they're not "required" - much in the same way both an entry model economy car and a Rolls Royce can get you to where you're going, this toothbrush and an entry Sonicare can get you clean teeth. One just gives you a better and easier experience doing it. So if that better/easier experience is worth the price of entry to you - and it is to me - I can certainly recommend this toothbrush!
I have been using the previous version of this toothbrush for seven years now and this updated model is even better!First, the handle is very well constructed and looks fabulous.Second, the included mouthwash/rinse/charging cup is a great addition to keep your handle charged and be able to always have a cup around for mouthwash and rinsing.Third, the kit comes with everything you need to start off with the best dental hygiene purchase you'll make! It comes with a variety of brush heads, including Philips's new "all-in-one" brush head, a tongue scrubber head, and a charging travel case that is perfectly molded to the brush handle and carries two brush heads with the USB cable neatly stored in the bottom of the case.Fourth, the app is incredible. I personally don't use the auto-order function for brush heads, but it is a great feature to have if you never want to run out. The app connects via Bluetooth to the handle, which itself connects to the brush head to ensure you're getting the most out of each head and function. It actually tracks each distinct head and how many uses it has left, even on all 3 of the White+ heads I've been swapping around on my old handle and now on the new handle. Not a crucial feature to have, but it is great if you use different brush heads for different purposes (or have 3 of the same you accidentally switch between). The app also guides you through brushing to ensure proper pressure, coverage, and time while also tracking the number of times per day, average brushing time, and days you've brushed. There's even a feature to connect with a dentist through the app!Overall, I would highly recommend this toothbrush for anyone who is looking for the best oral hygiene system out there!
