Awesome Toothbrush

This toothbrush is wonderful. It cleans my teeth better and seems quieter than other battery-powered toothbrushes. It alerts me every 30 seconds, making it easy for me to brush four sections of my mouth, and automatically turns off after two minutes. This stops me from brushing too long. The battery stays charged for a long time. The battery hasn't run down since I bought it. I put it on the charger every two - three weeks. I love this toothbrush. BJ's price is wonderful and this is a very worthwhile investment.

I have used Oral B electric toothbrushes over the last 10+ years. This time I undertook a lot of research as I was not overly impressed with the results I had achieved from Oral B despite their claims. I felt Sonic was the latest initiative and would probably be the way of the future. As a result of grinding my teeth for many years I have receding and sensitive gums. I consciously ensure that my teeth are always flossed and cleaned twice daily with six monthly dentist check-ups. Taking my needs into place I felt the Phillips Sonicare Protective Clean Electric Toothbrush was the one for me and it has exceeded my expectations. Fantastic results in a short time. Highly recommended

Excellent...so long as it lasts !

I am very happy with the Sonic. It is the second one I have bought. It does everything it says and it should. However, my previous one lasted about a year until it started to vibrate very badly and really didn't move much. Out of any guarantee I looked up how to take it apart to find the whole mechanism is dependent on one screw holding the vibrating pin.Possibly the worst design I have seen for what is an expensive product. When it works, it works well. Just hope this one doesn't do the same as the last one.

Game changer
24 August 2024

My husband and I both purchased the Sonic 4100 toothbrush about one month ago. We love the 2 minute process assuring that all quadrants of our mouths are ultra clean. We love the feeling of freshness after brushing. On a more concrete note, my husband sees a periodontist twice a year because he has an excessive plaque and tartar problem which affects his gum health. Last week, his periodontist was amazed at how little of these he found. After 3 weeks, a specialist saw concrete results. What more can I say!

Good toothbrush, short history

Only giving this 4 stars because this is the second set we've had to buy. After a couple of years the head unit gets really loose and noisy and entire toothbrush needs to be replaced. This happen twice. The first was inside the 2 year warranty and they replaced it for free. The second broke just after the warranty expired. There really are only 2 choices for electric toothbrushes, Phillips and Oral-B. We stayed with Philips. We hope these last longer.

Protective Clean electric toothbrush

I got this toothbrush a few months ago and use it often. This brush cleans really well, and is very powerful without being harsh. It is still gentle, and both modes, clean and gum care are gentle. I noticed significant difference in my oral hygiene after switching to this brush, my dental office noticed as well. Less tartar forms while using this brush regularly, my gums are healthier, and my teeth are whiter as well. I'm extremely happy with this brush and highly recommend. It also carries a charge for a very long time, I've been extremely impressed with it and would definitely keep using and buy a similar model in the future when I need to but I don't see that happening soon because the product is so great I'm sure I won't need to replace for a long time.

Sadly disappointing
5 November 2023

I've used Philip's Sonicare toothbrushes for as long as I can remember - a long time, thirty, maybe forty years. Yes, I'm THAT old, lol!I like their 'action', and even though the other well known type seems to be in favour at the moment (You know ... the one with the round brush and circular motion?!) I prefer the Philip's Sonicare. I had to purchase a new one back in December, and chose a 7900 series, the Hx9631/18. Its great, does the job beautifully as expected. It was on offer at £168.00, and although I think that's a lot of money, nothing is too much if it keeps my teeth in my head!I thought it would be a good idea to leave one at my boyfriend's/partner's house to save taking mine backwards and forwards every weekend, and at my dentist's recommendation did ... MoreI've used Philip's Sonicare toothbrushes for as long as I can remember - a long time, thirty, maybe forty years. I hated it, my teeth didn't feel clean after using it, so I realised I was going to have to invest in another Philip's one. Loathe to pay out another huge sum as in my December purchase, especially after splashing out on the now unwanted O*** B one, I chose the one featured in this review - the Hx6871/47. It was a reasonable £110.00, what could go wrong, I thought. A Philip's Sonicare is a Philip's Sonicare, right? Wrong, apparently.Seriously, this recent purchase doesn't compare to the Hx9631/18. It's not as powerful in any way at all. I feel that with just a tiny bit too much pressure it stops brushing. I'm not heavy handed with it, but it's really not a match for my December purchase. Possibly okay for a child? I don't know, but I'm just so disappointed with it, and wish so much that I could return it, and purchase a second Hx9631. I suppose I've left it too late .... watch this space ... I'm going to try!

Solid toothbrush; does the job
21 August 2024

This is my second set of sonic care toothbrushes. The first lasted over 10 years. I like the smaller diameter of this toothbrush handle. It is easier to hold. Also it sits better on the counter than its predecessor. I didn’t care to have tons of options. I wanted a good solid toothbrush that cleans well. This toothbrush fits my needs. It comes with brushes that have a microchip that tells you when to replace them. I have been using knockoff brushes that I order online and they work well.

Sonicare toothbrush
10 April 2024

I was reluctant to start using the Sonicare toothbrush as I was afraid it could damage my bridge.I was recommended to use the Sonicare by my hygeinist. I also have an implant and I have a chronic infection but the implant is stuck fast so I have to manage this. I am very pleased with how the Sonicare performs on all my teeth, natural or not and at last the gum around my implant has stopped bleeding. I found it easy to use and if I press too hard the Sonicare beeps to let me know. It was easy to charge which took 12 hours. I think the charge should last 3 weeks but I only charged 2 days ago so can't comment. The charging stand is a double pin (bathroom) so I had to buy an adaptor until I have a charging point in the bathroom. The brush head is small but very effective and is easy to manouevre around the mouth. It tickled my gums the first few times I used this.

Wrong manual, no tongue brush, confusing settings
16 November 2022

I bought this because my dentist recommended that I use an electric toothbrush. I had used some less expensive ones in the past (a different brand), and didn't mind them, but went back to manual toothbrushes eventually. This time, I decided to get a Sonicare, even though it was more expensive, as it seemed like it had good reviews. When I got it, I was excited to try it, and the packaging and accessories all looked nice. But the feel of it was awful--I stopped brushing after a short while and went to read the manual more, thinking maybe I was doing something wrong. I realized there was an an "easy start" feature, which I turned on and which made it a little more bearable, but not by a lot. I realized there was an an "easy start" feature, which I turned on and which made it a little more bearable, but not by a lot. And after reading through the manual more, I realized that certain features for which I had bought the toothbrush (such as pressure sensor) needed to be activated first (I thought that would be automatically turned on). I had to navigate through the manual and listen and watch for a certain series of beeps and lights to try to figure out if I had turned it on or not. There are different beeps, tones, and lights which try to tell you which features are turned on and off, but I found them fairly confusing, and I went through about twenty cycles trying to make sure I had turned on the pressure sensor. Also, it doesn't seem like the toothbrush stays on long enough to brush all your teeth properly. Maybe I'll get more used to it (if I can stand it long enough to get used to it), but it just seemed like it didn't stay on long enough. I tried a couple of times with this toothbrush, and after the second time it turned off, I finally just decided to brush my teeth with my manual toothbrush. Also, after all that I went and re-read the manual yet again, and I noticed it was a manual for the 6100 toothbrush (and not this 4300 toothbrush). I'm sure that contributed to my confusion about the settings. Also, the pictures for this item show a tongue brush, but that was not included in my package. Furthermore, the package says there are two intensity settings for this toothbrush, but the manual does not say how to switch between them or tell which one is activated (actually, the manual says there are three intensity settings and that I can press the mode/intensity button to change them, but that button only exists on the 6100 model, and not this 4300 model which I have, so I have no idea how to change the intensity).Lastly, the brush head that comes with this is so small that it takes a really long time to brush all your teeth. Every time I brush my teeth, I have to turn it back on several times, as it turns off before I have brushed all my teeth.
